So, if all of our companions are supposed to be leader types, wtf is Cole a leader of? Has he got some demon army he's gonna call up for us?

Yeah, as opposed to outcasts like Merrill, Fenris, and Anders.

 

Cole seems pretty much an outcast to me.

Maybe he'll become some sort of a leader throughout the game, as opposed to starting out as one?

 

Mustachio sounded like an outcast as well, but I imagine he'd have connections.

I don't know... I see him leading the servants in putting up and taking down tents as I don't think I'll use him much outside camp. I don't use rogues much (and when I do it will probably be Varric or Sera), and Cole in particular doesn't have much appeal to me. Maybe I'll change my mind when I meet him in-game.

Naw, they distinctly said the companions are supposed to be leader types this time, as opposed to the lost soul types, or whatever phrase they used (edit: outcasts! thanks MMG) about DA2 companions. So... hmm, that is curious about Cole, if that's him. Otherwise, maybe there's a completely other rogue we've not heard about...? Maybe?

I was just going by that one  "leak" of the  purple crows -leliana, and red fists- maybe Cullen, and there was another one that I dont remember... but they never really mentioned the comanions are leaders to anything... did they??? Idk It was just a thought.... sorry

I'm SO not feeling Cole. Not into his personality, dunno why he's there, and I loathe his ultra-derptastic hair.

I don't like his hair, but it's Cullen, so I'm going to love him anyway. I just wish they'd aged him. We're about the same age, and sure, I like to think I haven't aged in ten years, but guess what.......

 

I'm with you : )  Here's to appreciating a more "mature" Cullen. His looks were always secondary to me anyway since he was my friend from origins. I'm sure I'll get used to everyone's new tweaks eventually. It'll be great to see some new media rather than over examining this one pic.

To be fair the screenshot is too blur to see any "imperfections" like scars,under-eye circles etc...Maybe he won't look as Doll-like in a HD one.

 

Yeah, it's really hard to tell much of anything from the images we have, so I'm not making any judgements yet. I only have a problem with his hair color being too light, but it seems like everyone's been having hair color issues so far, so that's not really a surprise.

Cole's hair adds to a disheveled childlike look to him, I'm fine with it.

I think Cullen looks good! He might have more facial hair than we can tell from this distance, especially since he seems to have gotten a bit of bleach in his hair since DA2. And maybe he's taken to brushing out the curl in his hair   I suppose it beats ramen noodle head.

 

Also, I see someone else in here who has a similar taste in icons  Oh Varric, so gorgeous!

So I guess it's almost a 100% guarantee he's not a companion at this point? I at least hope that rogue to the left is Cole.

Something I'm noticing is that elves don't seem to be any shorter than humans. I kind of liked their shortness.

Ah! It was something the devs said recently, specifically about the companions. I think it was MLaw said it at PAX. He said that the companions this round are all 'leaders' of some kind.
