Basically, we don't know anything except that she's not addicted, like Eluvianix said. So presumably there's some story reason behind it. Maybe the abilities aren't the  same. Maybe only some abilities require a lot of it, and others don't. We know Alistair quit and started again, so maybe you can... time it. Too many theories without more info.

But it's very... suspicious.

Coming back to Cullen, our best comparison is not so much Cassandra but Evangeline, to my mind, who definitely needed it regularly. So... I reckon Cullen will, too. I'm not too concerned on that front, altho more info is more.

My best guess is that the Seekers, like Lambert and Cassandra, still require lyrium for their powers to function, but at least the upper echelons of that Order have found a way to circumvent the addiction part. How they do it, I don't have a clue. The method by which it is done is probably something the writers created.

Either way, Evangeline, a top tier Templar, could go for a week without the need to ingest the substance. I roughly estimate that she and Cullen are more or less the same in terms of ranking in the power hierarchy. Therefore, I think Cullen would require lyrium probably as often as she does, if not more.

LOL!

This is probably one of the very few occasions when I would want that to be a gif of Cullen in withdrawl and NOT him dancing at the Ball :D

The crazy thing? I'm about to go to friggin' Maui in three days, and yet it's coming back in time from Inquisition that I can't stop thinking about. I may have a problem.

*Flails* Give me the game already!

Hmm, I'm not sure about a class thing. You don't get much higher than a Knight-Captain, you know? Unless you mean it's just a Seekers vs. templars thing. I'm also thinking it's the latter, but not because they're somehow 'better' at avoiding addiction. I'm thinking that perhaps their abilities are just different, and therefore have different requirements somehow. But... Ah, time will tell! Luckily, not much more time anymore. Yay!

Maker, the wait is killing me. I think I'm having withdrawal symptoms.

Since I saw that short chess scene with Cullen, I'm going crazy by the hour. Why couldn't the f...freaking player have chosen to romance him? Instead, he gave a rude response, saying "we should focus on the Inquisition". Dear God!

Who the f...hell focuses on the Inquisition with Cullen around? Aaargh!!!

PS: Accurate depiction of me since the gameplay video:

Well, it's for not spoiling the romance moment

It's like Cameron Lee teasing us, giving us a glimpse of him and saying "hey everyone, don't forget to save before talking to Cullen!" but not too spoiling the romance moment.

Anyway, just curious, have any of you really wonder why Cullen become an advisor while Cassandra is not? I mean it's her who recruit him in the first place. From the wikia page it seems like hierarchically speaking Cullen's position in the inquisition is even higher than hers. He commands the army, it's really something.

I think it comes down to the fact that Cassandra is so invaluable as an active agent. I imagine there's a lot of minutiae to the advisor position, advisor/agent of the inquisition is a either/or thing time management wise. Also...He has more personal magnetism than her. Better for managing troops.

Outside of story...It's the best way for them to give Cullen fans sizeable involvement from him without him need to share that spotlight with Cass.

maybe cass was going to be the inquisitor but gets voted out due to the public responding better to the "herald of andraste" so she steps down for the greater good? maybe she even tries to make you a puppet ruler :o le-gasp! XD

Even as Gray Warden (DA:O), the Warden is actually only a puppet... whose strings are pulled by Flemmeth... It's more than likely that the Inquisitor is also a puppet in any case.

I know I am going to sound like the worst fangirl of all time but Cullen's walk...does it seem...a little bit...sexier than everyone else's?  Talking about the Hero trailer where they are all walking through the snow.  Is it the fact that his belts are crossed so low on his waist?  Or is it his boots?  That semi-cocky grin?

Or do all the NPCs have the same movements and I am just going mental?

Crazy..it must be be me going crazy. I knew this would happen when the game release date got pushed back.  Maker, I need this game!

*sigh*...I need to find a suit of armor for by real-life fella.  That's it!  That will help...right?

I wonder how much a real suit of armor would cost?  Maybe just boots and gauntlets?  How can i convince him to wear that?

Halloween may be a good excuse...

Oh god...I am typing all of this!  Should I post it?

Yup!

I agree with the idea that the original plan was that Cassandra was meant to be the Inquisitor. But she's not exactly the most personable or charismatic person around, whereas our Quizzy's have what seems like the whole world watching them because of the whole "Herald of Andraste" thing (regardless of whether you agree with it or not). So it just makes more sense for the Herald to become the Inquisitor, because you're exposed to more people.

I find his walk strangely mesmerizing... >.> It's almost as if... the only way I can describe his walk is that he swaggers. He just oozes confidence now, and it's unbelievably sexy.

Real armour can be quite expensive, but you can make armour out of EVA craft foam, which is much cheaper in comparison. Lighter too.  That's how I'm making a Cullen cosplay for my boyfriend to wear. My boyfriend agreed to cosplay as Cullen to ECEE 2015 after I pointed out that they look really uncannily similar.  Such a good boyfriend.

I'm sure he understands that he will be appropriately rewarded for wearing them....obviously I meant with cookies (Sten approves.)

I'm so glad this thread exists so I know I'm not the only one going mental in the run up!

You are so lucky!! My boyfriend and I play-sword fight together all the time, but he just does not...get...my obession with Dragon Age.  It has put a serious strain on our relationship.  Nonetheless, he did tell me he loved me for the first  time while we were silly dancing to medieval music...so, I really can't complain.

Aww! You two sound cute together :)

My boyfriend doesn't get my obsession with Dragon Age either, but fantasy has never been this thing. But he's okay with listening to me gush about it, and he's played DA:O so he knows what I'm talking about to a certain point. Plus we have Mass Effect to fan over together, so that's fine  :)
