Ok, I've just get a huge binge and bought all the DA novels at the same time (epub)

Can't decide which one to go first! Someone told me to start with The Stolen Throne but I just want to skip directly to Asunder or Last Flight

If you want to go chronologically, Stolen Throne, Calling, Asunder, TME, Last Flight. The first two are really only relevant to DA:O/DA:A, so if you're looking to ramp up for DA:I, I'd focus on the last three, perhaps in that order starting with Asunder, altho Asunder and TME are sort of co-eval.

Did anyone notice that Sebs VA also voices an advert for a Bank on tv in the UK? I noticed a couple of weeks ago, I love when that happens, when you are listening to something random and the penny drops and you recognise a familiar voice . Hubby is playing WoW again and Gideon Emery plays the leader of the Blood Elves, at the end of one of the dungeons, he speaks...each time I'm "Fenris "  hubby just tuts at me, he just doesn't understand my voice thing .

I have. It has pretty major implications for the setting as a whole, but in terms of immediate impact on DAI, there's only one thing I would consider relevant:

She pretty important if not one of main characters in the Calling. It opens her character and background alot. She's not in the Stolen Throne however but the Calling spoils little about the Stolen Throne (mostly Maric related stuff) so if you want to read them in right order the Stolen Throne would be first..

LOL - I mentioned Waterloo Road as it's on the telly here, and he spoke with his own accent in it.  And I did like that version of Dune, even tho the film is always and forever enshrined in my heart.  I saw him in something else, wasn't Enterprise, but my tired old brain doeesn't want to play today!    Edit:  it WAS Enterprise.  Damn menopause!

 

Yeah, I thought Alec Newman was good in Enterprise and it helped that the Augment episodes were from Series 4 when Manny Coto was in charge and the terror twins (Berman and Braga) had left, so the show didn't suck anymore. It's a shame that the show got cancelled, because it was actually getting good... that was until that god-awful finale that the Chuckle Brothers returned to pen.

 

(Yeah, I have a ton of mixed feelings about Enterprise, which had a ton of talented actors forced to play characters who acted like morons)

 

As for Dune, I loved both the film and the miniseries. It's a shame that Alec Newman and James McAvoy are rarely ever called upon to use their natural Scottish accents in roles, because it sounds so much more awesome than their generic English one.

Yeah Fiona appears in Asunder. Without getting too spoilery;

In the years since, she's since left the Wardens for the Circle and risen to become the Grand Enchanter, who basically runs the entire Circle of Magi. She's also very much into pro-Circle Independence, but keeps getting overruled by the other First Enchanters. She also drops the first ever f-bomb in the entire Dragon Age franchise, which is awesome as well.

 

I need to read The Calling, cause she's awesome.

Some of the character who share a VA with the mains weird me out. Every time Fenarel (Sebastian's VA) and Samson (Emery) show up, I'm like, "Shut up and stop speaking with someone else's voice."

 

Especially in the case of Samson...That creep doesn't deserve the most attractive voice in the world.

Interaction between Bran and Sebastian is also weird as well, since it's Alec Newman speaking to himself in a different accent. And it figures that his English accent is used for the most condescending man in Kirkwall...
