You know, it's funny. I didn't think of gamermd83 when I created my Origin account. I was just thinking of an EA ID that would remind me of my top favorite games. Just when I finished creating my account, I would realize it sounded familiar. LOL!

 

However, I do happen to be a fan of gamermd83. I love her vids on YT. Amongst my favorites are her DA banters. Awesome!!! Oh, her interview with Blackwall -- awesome! Not to mention her reaction to Cullen. The picture that she said was her favorite, happened to be my favorite as well. "Just look at his face!!" Priceless

So with the Keep open to all, we can talk about which means...decision time. I was with the Keep for a long while, and there has been two choices that I am iffy on. I am trying to create a "Golden" Worldstate which means I am having basically going for the "Perfect" or "Good" Worldstate. I am stuck on what I should do with Carver/Bethany...which would be considered the "right" choice? Taking them with you or leaving them back at Kirkwall. And should Merrill destroy the Eluvian or keep it intact?

This is just my opinion - I think we've discussed this choice before in this thread, and others brought up great arguments for the opposite,

 

I think Bethany is happiest as a Circle Mage. It may be a more dangerous future for her than the Wardens, but she really doesn't seem happy as a Warden.

 

Carver, meanwhile, takes joining the Wardens very well. I honestly think either choice is just as good for him. In my mage Hawke worldstate I always make him a Templar and imagine that being on the other side of the mage/templar conflict puts things in perspective for him, and that's why he defends his violent and crazy sister in the end despite their rivalry.

I sent Bethany to the Wardens because it adds a little to her character. I feel like Act 1 Bethany is there to be protected. Circle mage is what she wants deep down and nobody really needs to re-evaluate themselves. Her bitterness over being a GW makes things more complicated.

Also makes it easier to side with the templars.

I got really excited when I saw this!!! Mainly because I loved the colour the scales gave to the outfit.

I wanted to go blonde once, and applied a pre-lightener.  Fell asleep.  Woke up looking like Johnny Rotten at his finest!  Mum made me dye it a darker shade of red than my own, and it all broke off - was practically bald for a while!    Had to accept that redheads shouldn't go blonde, at least not until they've gone grey or white naturally first.

 

I have very dark brown/black hair (well, the part that isn't going white) and tried to go white blonde once in college.  It lasted about a month and a half and I had to get the roots done every 10 days at the longest.  When I decided it had been fun but wasn't worth the trouble (or money) and went to get it dyed back, I had to go to a caramel brown first (trying to go all the way dark would have made it old lady blue) and the stylist couldn't blow dry it because the areas where the bleach had overlapped just broke off when they touched it.     Thank goodness I have thick hair.

 

So now I'm happy with getting the white dyed dark (a shade blacker than my actual color) and having blue highlights put in.

 

As for eye color, they're so brown that unless the light hits them you can't see my pupils.

For me, it's a trade off between what I actually did (like, I always destroy the eluvian) and what might actually impact the game (like, broken eluvian will not show up ... but unbroken just might). So prob depends on what you want your new game to look like.

I made what I considered to be my "ideal" World State, meaning I mixed some stuff around into what I want to see in DAI.

Carver went to the GWs for me, always. It seemed like that was his calling, and it gave him a sense of purpose he could never truly explore around Hawke. Though I may have damned him by having him be a Warden, I think it was a better choice for him.

Merrill.......I let her keep the mirror, cause it is going to be extremely important in DAI.

Yeah, I've been trying to figure this out as well.

 

I think I'm going to alter my canon save to spare Loghain, as it suits my Warden's slightly machievellian personality and belief in pragmaticism, since I had them spare people such as Zevran, Avernus and the Architect, as they could also prove to be useful allies along the line. Although, my Warden was also unwilling to cross some lines like keeping the Anvil of the Void around, as well as letting Avernus continue his research unrestrained.

 

As for Bethany/Carver, Bethany seems far happier in the Circle and she makes Senior Enchanter remarkably quickly for one so young (unless the Gallows has that high of a turnover rate), suggesting that she finds a place for herself and some acceptance there. It also allows her motherly instincts to flourish and her letter to Hawke makes it clear she's become a great teacher for the younger apprentices.

 

Carver meanwhile is more suited for the Wardens, as it finally allows him to step out of his elder sibling's shadow, make a name for himself and find a purpose that he's long been searching for. Sure, being a Warden is hard and he'll probably end up on his Calling before reaching the age of 50, but nonetheless, like Duncan and Blackwall, he's someone who is able to find meaning in the cause.

 

As for Merrill, it's tricky because while my Warden probably would have seen the benefit of the Eluvian restoration, Hawke saw that Merrill was hopelessly obsessed with the Eluvian and it was destroying her life. I think that destroying the Eluvian is the best result for Merrill, as she still retains her knowledge and experience that she might use in the future, so it wasn't all for nothing.

Personally I am not happy subjecting my sibling to a very short life filled with infertility and taint, so I choose to leave them behind. it gives Carver a chance to do something he wants. Bethany I don't get to see very often but she seems happier to be with her own kind, no more running and hiding.

 

As for Merrill I always have her destroy the eluvian. I always rival her and she annoys the H*ll out of me, and the chance of another demon choosing to use it as a gateway it too big a risk.

As for Merrill, it's tricky because while my Warden probably would have seen the benefit of the Eluvian restoration, Hawke saw that Merrill was hopelessly obsessed with the Eluvian and it was destroying her life. I think that destroying the Eluvian is the best result for Merrill, as she still retains her knowledge and experience that she might use in the future, so it wasn't all for nothing.

My fear with Merrill is that without the mirror, what is she gonna focus her energy on? That drive won't go away on its own overnight. I'm scared she's gonna become even more fixated on her blood magic.

For Bethany I always put her in the circle. I figured that would give my hawke a reason to fight on the side of mages since both her father and sister are one. Carver I liked him as a templar but in my world states I am making him a grey warden. Because I think he is happier as one. 

 

for the eluvian I destroy it every time no question nothing good has come from one of them yet.
