I like Fenris romance but it always felt off to me since I played a mage 12 out of 14 games in DA2. I was never a mage that helped templars ever and I wasn't sure a mage hawke and fenris would ever have a healthy relationship...well anders either for that matter. Just never mind where that thought was going lol

So, if you don't understand the hatred for Anders, does that mean you're a fan? I know, you don't necessarily have to be a fan for that, but it made me wonder.

 

I don't get any hate for a character tbh but that's just me 

 

When it comes to Anders, I feel there's a fundamental misunderstanding of the character(s) and the situation.

 

You can be mad at Anders for agreeing to merge with Justice, I guess, but that's a meta-feeling... Hawke didn't know Anders before he did that.

 

Everything Anders does in DA2 (well, just about) is related to him no longer being "just" Anders anymore. It's really sad and tragic.  I just imagine him being so tired... but unable to stop. It's horrific. 

 

I hopelessly pray for the chance to separate him from Vengeance in DAI, sigh

My first romances in DAO and DA2. In that case there is two odd. :3 (I don't like blond hair.... But white like Fenris's hair.... Maker's breath! Yes!    )

I could never bring myself to kill him. No matter what he did My hawke will stand beside him. I always pictured my husband as anders and just couldn't end him. I place rl people in those moments and go based on that.

I would never kill him. Ever. I watched it on youtube once and even that made me feel horrible.  No, in my mind, my Hawke and Anders are somewhere fighting the good fight and enjoying domestic bliss in between. I will hang onto that for as long as BioWare lets me.

If you friendmance him as a mage though it's actually quite (delicately) sweet that he falls in love with you. I mean he fell in love with a mage and allowed himself to be with you. That's an amazing step for him. I think as long as you don't turn to blood magic he'll be fine lol

I prefer Fenris over Anders, especially when it comes to romances, but I don't have a problem with Anders. I usually allow him to live.

In DA:O I like both Zev and Alistair, but usually end up romancing Alistair. He does get on my nerves a little sometimes with all the jokes, though The more I've played the game the more I've grown to appreciate Zevran.

Only true way for me to do that is to not take him with me when fighting which means i have to have aveline and i don't really like her lol GAWWW now I am gonna have to try this before DAI

Yeah I friendmanced Fenris as a female mage and it was pretty cute.

 

I may have to do another DA2 run before DAI just to do that again.

I blame Justice for the Chantry bombing more than Anders, since if you rival him and convince him not go go through with his plan, Justice simply takes over and forces him to do it anyway. That to me, suggests that the Justice was always the true culprit and mastermind of the plot.

 

As for Sebastian, well, most of the reason he's angry is because Elthina was killed in the blast. But the thing he forgets is, she had her chance to leave Kirkwall when the Divine sent Leliana to tell her that it was no longer safe to remain there, but she chose to ignoring that warning like she did with everything else. I liked her, but she kind of brought it upon herself to remain even knowing that she had a target painted on her back.

I liked the rivalmance with Anders a lot because you truly see how far gone he is..and yet still cant kill him in the end. And thank you @CuriousArtemis now I have to re-download DA2 to friendmance Fenris lol

I'm pretty sure he will be my fav romance.. lol the game is not out yet so I'm assuming alot! I haven't found side of him that isn't attractive though so ^^

Problem is, rival Anders is practically destined to lose to Vengeance. Killing him is a mercy.

The Keep doesn't track rivalry, or if it does, it phrases it very obtusely.

Hmm I'd argue the possibility of Fenris having a healthy, loving relationship with a bloodmage, but I'll not mess with anyone's headcanon
