I can agree with this. Qunari should not have full on beards...at least not a blonde version that clashes with skin tone

Yeah but it was smeared in that red stuff so it kind of blended in and wasn't as noticeable and it wasn't a full beard like this.

Not disagreeing with your point at all, but I'd just like to point out that he's not the only one involved in world-building or writing? I mean, there's all the writers who have ever worked on Dragon Age, as well as the creative director. It's the creative director who comes up with the ultimate vision for the game, and the writers have to work within the confines given to them. So if you're praising or criticizing something about the world-building or narrative of a game, then don't attribute that to one single person, because it's a team effort. The exception is if it's something that one individual is in charge of personally, like say the way a character is written or a major quest--and even that is dicey, because even though they're put in charge of that part of the project, they're still subject to peer-review and input from the rest of the writer's pit, regardless if they're the lead or a senior writer. And even the lead writer has to bring everything they have after peer-review up to the editors and in some cases, right up to the creative director. 

 

True, and my thoughts were definitely inaccurately pointedly solely towards Mr. Gaider, so yeah. But in any case I promise I'm coming at it from a critic's point of view and not taking it out personally on any individual (despite the harshness of my post lol); it's more of a disappointment in the creation and maintenance of Thedas as a whole, and perhaps disappointment that the writing was not as... thoughtful... as I'd hoped.

 

EDIT: I'd hoped also that Thedas would/had evolved from its 2009 initial variation. I mean it's like Skyrim having gay (well, any) marriage in it but I'm guessing there were never any s/s romances in the franchise before that. I'm totally fine with franchises being "updated" like that. And I hoped Thedas would be/had been, too.

Well the qunari definitely look different in DAI; they're clearly making them look more human, and I guess "full beards" are part of that. I miss the DA2 version But I'll get used to these guys I guess.

I would fumble on my words trying to write a sex scene. I blush just reading them in novels let alone fan fic. Honestly whatever you choose to write I would love to read it when your done 

Oh I do not get flustered when I read or write steamy things, which is rare O_O! I'm just the kind of person who doesn't fluster/get embarrassed easily. Thank you for your advice

Please...I beg of you...lots of romance AND sex. I'll read anything Cullen-based, even haiku.

This forced withdrawal caused by Cullen abstinence is killing me. I cry before going to sleep every night. Not even the pills are helping anymore.

Lol, well someone indeed seems to be going through withdrawal! I don't really write a lot of sex scenes, I do have romance elements in my stories...yet this may all change depending on how DA:I is. So my story would probably be created once I actually know who the "current" Cullen is.

I say write a sex scene, set it down for a day, come back to it the next, and if it sounds like something that came out of Isabela's mouth trash it

I'm sure your story will tell you where to go with it. Fade to black can be just as steamy as the full monty, as it were. Just go with what you're comfortable and interested with. 

I typically write stories that are fantasy and have an edge to romance, but it is typically dark and then builds up to a "lighter" feel. So since I have some experience with romance in stories I know how to makes things steamy rather easily, it all just depends on how creative I am feeling. Thank you for your advice!

Been watching a compilation of Cullen's dialogues. One of the lines says: Someone killed a dozen of our best men in the Chantry itself. Are the people here animals?

 

My first reaction was to laugh at the more-than-audible outrage in his voice. Greg Ellis is divine!

And my second was to remember the whole sordid affair with Karl and think ****, I was one of the people doing the slaughtering.

 

Although he obviously has no idea, or he wouldn't be talking to me about it.

the truth seems to lighten him. he reaches for you more often, now, cupping your face and presses your noses together. kissing is out of the question, but nuzzling seems to be his favorite thing.

 

the pinnacle of your intimacy happens one night after a short game of chess. you have won and he asks if you might enjoy a prize. when you agree, he smiles, motioning toward the ladder.

 

intrigued, you follow him up, and he invites you to stay the night, wringing his hands and looking much like a teenager in the soft light.

you stay, of course. you get no sleep, nor does he.

 

his eyes are too intriguing.

 

his touch is too soft.

 

he is happy.
