What a day...power out from 9.20am - 16.45  On the upside, I read Asunder from cover to cover whilst snuggled up in front of the fire :)

And holy spoiler threads batman! wow Scuttlebutt has exploded lol I'm not sure how much I want to see or read, I'll avoid for now I think.

For me there is a fine line between a song being cute/romantic and it being over the top cheesey. It's a difficult one for them to get right for me, I'm not big on slushy songs anyway, so in order for me to not cringe, it's going to have to be fitting and really good :D *fingers crossed*. The right tune/song at the right time will reduce me to a sniffling lump though *looking at you ME2 suicide mission theme" (I have that modded into the ending of ME3 too, goosebumps every.single.time!).

I'm most worried in Cullen's romance on how cheesy meaning romantic it's gonna be. I don't want cheesy stuff :P At least my Inquisitor being mage should add some angst and drama there.

Well, that will depends on your definition of Cheesy. I think Alistair's romance not very Cheesy, my boyfriend (who RP a female character & do Alistair Romance) said that its definitely cheesy. Since I found that my RL boyfriend is much cheesier than Alistair, I don't know what to think. Depends on point of view then.

Honestly the dev had stated that all romances are mature & tasteful so I hope that it doesn't mean cheesy. Moreover, the character's age quite a bit & Cullen's about 30-40 so I don't think he'll be cheesy on the way that Twilight romances will be.

Yeah, I would love some angst for being a mage but not too much like Alastiar.

Alistair was definitely cheesy :P I don't want romantic stuff, no babes or honeys, no roses or jewelry, no gentlemen acts, nothing that.

The cheese factor is partly why I often avoid F/M romances... like Alistair giving a female Warden a rose... really? lol The trope gets turned on its head when Alistair gives a male Warden a rose (in a modded playthrough). Hence why I like playing games that way.

That said I think Fenris and Zevran are the two least cheesy male romances thus far. Zevran isn't particularly romantic and is purposefully over the top (despite how deep his feelings may run) and Fenris pretends he has no feelings lol

I would add Anders to the list, but he has that dumb line about "bathing the city in blood" to protect you, which sounds cheesy and also creepy  My male Hawke is like, wow, relax darlin! But if I had a female Hawke and he said that to her I think she'd nope right on outta there!

Maybe it's just me but I'd swear the DAI dragons don't look happy :( Maybe they need a hug? or maybe just a coffee (kind of looks like me 1st thing in the morning pre-caffeine hit)! :D

Well, personally I'll hope more of a "share your deepest thoughts & feelings & fears & hopes & dreams, those parts of you that you never shared with anyone else" moments (I'm not talking about physical stuffs...). But personally I won't say no to flowers & small gifts

I always appreciate hugs & comforting moments despite it being considered cheesy.

 LOL. Maker, we're all so different! The rose was one of my favorite moments, but I like the romance, so I guess that's no surprise. When it comes to cheesiness, I think it's all in the point of view. I have my own definition of cheesy romance, and I'm sure it differs from everyone else's! I am hoping for some romantic moments from Cullen...and if they skirt my estimation of "cheesy" I'm not sure I'm going to complain too loudly.  ^_^

This! The Anders and the Alistair romances were a bit too cheesy and sweet for my taste, I mean they were still good and I romanced them anyway but they weren´t my favorites :P

I agree, although I do sort of like how Zevran and Fenris are a bit more "subtle" I mean they essantially tell you they love you without acually saying the words and I don´t know I sort of liked that I guess :P That Anders had me laughing and cringing simultaneously and the fact that Hawkes lines  during that scene were sort of cheesy as well, well let it not be said that it´s not an amusing romance :P

I got mine in camp, and it was such a sweet moment. I also loved it when I gave him his mother's amulet. He was so touched. *grin*

Ah, really? In the mage's tower, while we were all still covered in blood, Wynne chose to pause and question my relationship with Zevran. Oh, DAO

on my most recent playthrough I accidentally clicked on Alistair right after a battle ended in Return to Ostagar, and it triggered the rose cut-scene while we were covered in blood and standing in front of King Cailan's corpse lol. Great timing there, buddy.

Oooh quite same, my self-insert PTs are usually the first one I played. For DA:O it's Queen Cousland with Alistair, and for DA2 it's Marian Hawke with Fenris (mage Hawke). When I played these two PTs I always thought "this is my headcannon" but actually when I started roleplaying, it seems that finally I can't have any other headcannon than a female mage Amell sacrificing herself (romance Leliana) and a male Warrior Hawke forced to choose a side (mages) because little sister is in the circle, romance either Fenris or Merrill.

I had finished DA:O for all mages & elves origins, with happy/sad ending each. But I can't just bring myself having other headcannon than the one I mentionned. Dunno why. It's just at first I would like to be from the best priviledge ever (Cousland), with loving family etc but finally the mage one really enthrall me. Being a person that is considered dangerous by the world, yet rise above all to be the Hero of Ferelden. Without Old God repercussion.

Finally, my favourite origins from DA:O are the "opressed" ones: City Elf, Mages & Dwarf Commoner. They started with nothing and end up being the Hero of Ferelden, above whoever hated them for what they are. It really proves Dumbledore's point about the most important thing is not "What you are" but "Who you are".

Sadly, my first self-insert, fem!Cousland, (Warrior Cousland) ended up with no choice to stop Alistair from sacrificing himself to kill the archdemon and save me. I started Awakening, but didn't play much, because I heard Anders was romanceable in DA2, so I went straight to DA2 and played as Rogue fem!Hawke, and romanced Anders. I didn't know much about Anders when I played DA2 (for the first time). Hell, I didn't even know about Justice. I was told by a dear friend of mine that things will be much different if I don't play DAA first. Totally different perspective. Nothing wrong with it, just different way to see things. I also heard few people played that way, so I really wanted to try something different than most usually did. :D And even after DA2, I'm one of the few people who still like Anders. :D Oh, as Hawke, I also sided with the mages, because I didn't want Anders to die, and because little sis was in the Circle. And you know the story how I started to like our dear sweet Cullen. :)

Speaking of the mage/templar problem, if there was a way to broker a peace, THAT would have been my choice. By the end of DA2, after observing both sides, and seeing neither of them was right, and they all made mistakes and all, I had no intention on siding with either of them (mages or templars). I liked Varric: "Oh, I'm sick of mages and templars!" or something similar, not sure I remember the line correctly. But, unfortunately, there was no way to make peace. So, since you are forced to pick a side, in that PT I had enough reasons to side with the mages, as I mentioned above. :D

I haven't played all origins yet, and I won't have time to finish them all before Inquisition, but I am planning on playing the origins I have left, at least the beginning, until Ostagar, because that's where you find new things. :)

And, I used to have a thing for the "oppressed" type of characters too, before even playing DA. But now, I like all types of characters. I never know what to choose actually. :D

For my first DAI PT, I will import (from the Keep, of course :)) my Cousland's WS  (self-insert, Warrior) and my Hawke (self-insert, Rogue). And I will also play a self-insert in DAI, and (I think this is already obvious :D) I will romance Cullen. And since we are on the self-insert topic, I've just remembered: it has been confirmed that Hawke will be in Inquisition. So, if we really can make her look like she was in our original PT in DA2, that would be something glorious to see... at least for me. Because I will have a self-insert Hawke, and I will play a self-insert in DAI, so I imagine it will be like meeting my twin or something. lol! I was just thinking about it, and thought: "That would be so much fun!" I will deliberately create two identical self-inserts, if given the chance, just so I can see how that turns out and have fun with it. :) What do you think about this?

EDIT: Sorry for the long post. :D I only realized it after I went back and looked at it.
