Ugh that one NPC that always looks somewhat similar to your character, but better. Hate that ******. Lol

IKR You just want to drag them around by the hair and throw them face down in a puddle! LOL

 

Don't forget there are advanced facial customisation options too beyond just the sliders, in theory we should be able to make ourselves look not-NPC like at least, lol.

Yeah, ideally we'll be able to make our faces looks unique enough that even with the basic hair we won't look shite when compared to the companions/advisors. I always hated that the protagonist would look so generic in the past vanilla games, took me ages to make my male Hawke look distinctive, and I never mastered it with female Hawke/Warden without the aid of mods.

Yeah, I know. I'll never forget my second DA2 playthrough where suddenly I noticed that Norah, the barmaid at the Hanging Man, was my Hawke's doppelganger. I honestly thought it was some trick at first, that the NPC was intended to look like however your PC looked for some nefarious purpose. LOL Nope. I'm just not very creative, it seems.

I must admit... every time I saw Cullen's hair in game, I noticed it was Cullen's hair. LOL

I loved The previews, though they confirmed one of my concerns . The body of The male elf is too thin (for me anyway). I'd have preferred a middle way Between The current model and the human model.
I'm Seriously considering switching race for My first playthrough. Which is a shame, since I wanted to play a dalish mage since DAO .

Yeah, that's another reason I didn't pick an elf, wouldn't work for a self insert because I'm definitely not stick thin... plus, I figured she'd end up looking like a small child, which would be weird when trying to seduce Cullen,LOL!

I liked Idunna's face. So I'm well jealous. Lol

Mine always had a freakishly thin jaw and chin. I worked well with the hairstyle I had for her, but she was proper alien when I tried a different one.

The thing for me about the DA2 chargen was that it had too many degrees of freedom which meant you could create any weird ass combination that wouldn't be physical. Like, if you didn't turn your character enough in 3D, you could have weird points on the chin or cheekbones from certain angles. So I ended up sticking close to the presets.

 

So I'm encouraged by this chargen which seems to limit us to things like "face shape." I'm hoping that makes it easier.

The problem is that I'll play as a mage. I won't be Able to wear heavy armour for hours .

Oh many times I would play with a jawline only to get in game and be horrified. Chubby cheeks and really pointed chin omg lol. 

Theres only a couple of presets I will use because even the slight tweak on most of them makes them look awful.

Oooh that's an interesting idea! Why not! But not on my first playthrough since my headcanon for that one is a male Hawke warrior and the quizzy is a female Trevelyan mage. But interesting idea, that'll be awesome. Especially if we can gear them the same armour.

I have asked people about this (not on this forum) and they were like "oh, my, that's weird!" To me it felt like fun ever since I thought about it. I'm wondering if we can even change Hawke's armor. But that would be awesome. Like I said, in my case, I'm using my first WSs from DAO and DA2, and they have both self-inserts. And my quizzy is definitely going to be a self-insert on my first PT. This is going to be so much fun.

 

BTW. I saw this in a tv series once. The main character met another character who looked just like her, but they were not related in any way. She was so funny when she saw that other person who lookd incredibly identical to her.
