I do wonder why They changed Anders' VA instead of Cullen's. Not that I'm complaining, but it'd be more logical to change The Character with the minor role instead of one who was a companion in DAA and is one in DA2.
Unless GE couldn't have worked for The time a companion's VA has to.

Probably for the best really, otherwise Cullen would have been voiced by someone else entirely... it's not Cullen if he's not voiced by Greg Ellis!

I'm not a huge Anders fans, to the point of dislike him and never managed to bring him to outings (too much quarrels with Merrill & Fenris & EVERY SINGLE PERSON). But he has a point: Opressing mage must not continue. I'm with his cause, but not with his methods. So there he is, staying on the clinic most time. Get a mod of Merrill Creation Skill Tree and all problem solved. That's my POV anyway.

 

About that VA, I'm happy that they keep Greg Ellis for Cullen

I haven't play Awakening but when I heard the youtube videos I can't even recognize GE there...

My understanding it was the latter, he was too busy for a companion.

Cullen's role was bigger than in Origins , maybe it would have got too easy to recognise they both shared the same VA.  Not quite the same but my brother did a bit of extra work for a popular mini series/show a while back. They liked him so much they wanted to give him a bigger part (face shot) but it would have meant using him less in other ways because he would be too recognisable. maybe its something similar.

Like PC said, it's definitely a mix here. But I think we also like to avoid the more polarizing conversations. "anders fan" "anders hater" whatever. Lots of opinions, and not all black and white.

^ agree with this. I'm one of those who have pretty.... intense negative feelings about Anders, but I make a point of not bringing them up here, because this is just not the appropriate thread for fighting each other to the death over our opinions about him. We gather in this thread to discuss Cullen and share our love for him, so we try to stay positive/neutral on more polarizing unrelated arguments; if we need to strangle each other over Anders, there are always a million other threads for it out there.

I have Morrigans hair in DA2 lol mods ftw! well Morrigans fringe and Tallis ponytail, nice mix . The hair is probably the only thing that will mess with my mojo, my characters always had "an excellent sense of dramatic timing and Good hair" it's not going to have the same ring to it if my timing is still excellent and my hair looks like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards or that I glued it on that morning lol, we shall see soo enough.

 

I haven't checked the links or rules but in passing a noted that a UK daytime tv programme (This Morning) is running a writing competition, with the prize of being published, any of you talented chaps and chapettes should check it out and see if you perhaps qualify to enter

I write as I talk which is bad, it means I rarely make any sense, I waffle way too much and struggle to put into words what my mind is telling me to say lol, I even have trouble sometimes writing responses here on the forum, I write, edit, delete, write some more, delete and finally just end up hitting the post button and hoping people understand what I mean and that I haven't offended anyone

Well if its true that they have been working on this game since after DAO and before DA2 then it could be they new Cullen would have a bigger roll and changing his VA could have caused problems or they just really liked Greg Ellis as his VA...I do   So instead just changed another character voice by him.

The other interesting thing from that preview. Templar swords of mercy are constantly being flipped up or down without rhyme or reason. That constellation, tho, judex, says point down means guilty judgement leading to execution. Huh. 

 

 

If it helps this is a pretty standard symbolism in the military (British anyway). During a court martial an officer has their sword taken away. When they come back into the room after the 3 judges have made their decision, if the point is towards you (down) you are guilty, during wartime that could be beheading or death by firing squad (depending on era). Hilt towards you and you have been found innocent.

GE makes great Anders as well though. In some parts you can hear Cullen there.. I think in parts when Cullen and Anders are unhappy they sound similar but otherwise they don't XD

I like him quite much during DA2, not my favorite one but I think he did lot of good in mage underground. However emotionally manipulating my Hawke to be accomplice in terrorism? No thanks! That point mellowed down my liking of him a lot.

I found that manipulating part off for the friendship route at least to me, now rival path I would think fits that romance more.
