Everyone forgets that the Knight Vigilant and the Knights Divine (The Divines personal bodyguard) are Templar that did not side with Lambert....

Um, I don't think we know this for a fact. In fact... there's little evidence that the Knight Vigilant even exists. Regardless, Lambert outranks any templar. But we do know from World of Thedas that not all templars defected from the Chantry.

I don't believe that he doesn't consider himself a Templar either...He probably doesn't consider himself part of the Templar order, such as it is now.

"such as they are"

(sorry, couldn't help myself :P)

Heckuva lot simpler than that long red sash. :P R2 approves!  :kissing:

Simpler, yes...but that sash..well, that could have *clears throat* other uses. *gasp* Did I say that out loud?

In any case he still have lots of hope & pride with Templars. At one of the Gameplay (the Dalish elf lady meeting the advisor for the first time) he still proudly says that he knows what the templar can do (in a proud way).

Yeah, but I hope he doesn't get huge drops in approval for siding with mages, since I am verily pro mage waves libertarian mage flag cough. I am looking at you Fenris (still my Ariela Hawke still loves you boo).

Knight Vigilant is mentioned at the beginning of Asunder.

It is the Knights Divine that have not been confirmed other than rumour by Bioware.

Yeah, we don't know that he's not a Templar anymore, really. The only hint we had about that was that one dialogue tree where he says Knight-Captain is not his title anymore.... which it's not, since he's Commander now. Knight-Commander? Maybe just your Commander? But it doesn't mean he doesn't consider himself a Templar anymore, all we know for now is that he has a different title these days.

Since he's still wearing the Sword of Mercy on his gauntlets and a very Templary-robe under his breastplate, it does look like he's still pretty loyal to the Order, just maybe not involved with Lambert's Templars (who also may not necessarily be the same as Red Templars, for all we know about them right now). The whole Order is very fractured since the accord was annuled, there's all sort of Templar branches going different ways. Cullen and his men are probably in the most moderate side, working with everyone to restore some order to the mess.

Maybe we can get something like a brokered peace? Mages & templars who do not wish to fight each other... And the Breach threat is greater than the war...

I almost started to tear up!!! Marvelous job  ^_^

My devious plan has been successful then!

I love angsty, quiet moments like that and they are my favorite to write.  Now if i could just learn to write smut and action without sounding like a bumbling idiot, I may have a chance of making this a real story!

Except that Brienne said so in her interview about Cullen, in which he's called a former templar.

He can use both. In DAO he uses a greatsword, and in DA2 is sword and board. Which means my quizzy can spar with him whichever warrior skill she choses

It would be fun to really be able to spar with him. :)

Actually it's the other way around. The Knight Vigilant was only mentioned in a blog post by BW early on, maybe one minor codex, and that's it. There is no mention of any kind, of either, in Asunder. The Knights Divine, however, are discussed by DG here

Hmmm I forgot about that. That's pretty weird, then, for him to openly be wearing the heraldry of the Order all over his armor and commanding Templars around. Why would they even follow someone who's left the Order, specially at a time like this? We'll see, then... but that Sword of Mercy's got to be there for some reason still.

Love the idea of sparing with him that would be fun to show off some of our skills to him and then during a scene we fall on eachother and kiss....

I wonder if the black templar was the Knight's Divine.

He had John Stewart written all over him. I want him on my team!  B)

This is what I'm also thinking, that maybe he's not part of *those* templars, but still a templar in some sense, because he brought his own templar soldiers with him to work for the Inquisition. Trademark battle ensues. :P

It really depends. At the peace summit, the Templars were still united for the most part. I think it's just that once the chaos begins things get really screwy and divisions are drawn.

Nah, Knight Divine is probably not him. I'd expect someone older than he.

What she didn't say was *when* he left the templars. Maybe it's more symbolic, that he leaves them upon joining the Inquisition?

Hot Black Templar could get it. He needs to become a recurring character in DA4 so he can be promoted to companion and love interest in DA5. :P
