Bad. Very bad. I assume much quick-talking will be needed to keep Cullen happy. I think Cole could give two hoots, nor would he truly understand.

So like Tali and Legion in ME2, with barely contained hostility from Tali and complete and utter confusion from Legion?

I could see Cullen having a pretty serious problem with Cole.

As I was reading Asunder and imagining Cole as a companion, I was thinking my Inquisitor could probably get Cole and Cullen to get along. That Cullen would initially be wary and suspicious, but that my Inquisitor would be able to convince Cullen that Cole was a lost soul in need of guidance rather than a monster, and Cullen's protective instincts would eventually kick in.

Then I got to the epilogue, and I... didn't think so anymore.

Unless the writers backtrack on the ending of Asunder significantly, I'm not just wondering how Cullen will react - I'm concerned my Inquisitor herself will have trouble relating positively to Cole.

this is one reason I'm glad I haven't read the books. My inquisitor will not have much insider info on a lot of the companions and will hopefully react more naturally to them, at least in the first playthrough.

what little I've heard of Cole makes me leery - he sounds creepy.

One of the class specializations has the same name as my Inquisitor. Her name is Tempest.

She's a mage rather than a rogue, though, so at least she won't be playing a specialization with the same name as herself.

It's new information, which also makes me wonder, did they come back out of the Fade or come from the Fade?

Would be interesting to have a tomato surprise where you discover that you're not really you, but were really killed along with everyone else and just being possessed by an amnesiac Spirit of Whatever...

Of course, after Wynne, Justice!Kristoff and Anders!Justice in the last three games and Evangeline and Cole (or whatever he is) in the novels and now as one of our followers, they probably don't want to repeat that too much otherwise it'll get a little bit stale.

Speaking of Cole, any thoughts on how Cullen will react to him?

Yeah, that was odd. I mean, we aren't supposed to be able to physically go in there... so coming out of it would normally mean just waking up. So maybe we literally got sucked in there physically some how and that's why we didn't turn into one of those char-grilled corpses.

I didn't find Cole creepy. I just found him sad.

I don't want to give anything away since you haven't read the books, but something happens that changes Cole's character pretty significantly at the end. It's the new version that worries me.

Unless they backtrack, as I mentioned, I think the Inquisitor would realize pretty quickly that something is seriously amiss.

Really I hope we get a high res picture of him. Of all the people in that shot he is one of the hardest to see so we may be missing details like a fuller goatee or maybe even his hair looks a little more curly up close! I loved the trailer and I'm super exciteded, it looks amazing and it feels like bioware may have outdone itself! Obviously we have to play the game first to know for sure! I was going to preorder then I saw about that uber addition and now I'm holding off lol! I'm still so happy that he is an LI! But I'm still not 100% sure he isn't a companion or a temp companion. Honestly I'm just so excited we get him, and there will probably be amazing other companions that we may not have gotten IF he was one but I'd still love for him to have the chance. I guess We won't know till the bioware Devs sing!

I think my main inquisitor will be weary of him as well, since the Dalish are weary of spirits and the fade in general but eventually she might warm up to him and start acting like a protective older sister and calling him "Da'len" (in my imagination anyway since I doubt we'll be able to use Dalish terms and pet-names in the game) :-).

Although, there's the possibility that her stance towards him might as well be different and much less sister-like,depending on how he evolved after the end of asunder.

Until they confirm that Cullen is not an actual companion, I am not giving up on him being one.

Which is why I can possibly forgive Cass being all Princess Stabbity up in the Inquisitor's grill, she's been reading far too much about these types of possessions recently and seeing someone walk out of the Fade (which is supposedly impossible, but so is it tearing open, so what do we know?) would be bound to make her want to just nip a potential Anders in the bud.

But you might be onto something, maybe we survived because we were pulled in as the first demon came out and breached the veil, a sort of magical conservation of mass and all that jazz?

It could not be better!  :D

It makes up for being suck home with stuffy sinuses and a cough!

I've realized I'm really bad at sick days, though. Yesterday I kept telling my co-workers a bunch of things they already knew in preparation for my absence, and although I'm on my couch in my PJs, I have my phone by me and I keep refreshing my work e-mail.  :P I wouldn't have taken one at all (I've never taken a sick day from this job before,) but the other staff and even the residents were worried about me yesterday so I figured that was a sign I needed a day to rest.

Yeah, I honestly felt like Cassandra's reaction was pretty reasonable under the circumstances.

What had just happened was extremely strange and unprecedented. What else was she supposed to think?

My Inquisitor won't blame her for it.

So, what's the general consensus on Cullen's new physical appearance?
