Bam, I find this on another topic. Nothing to do with Cullen or Poetry or Accents, but still  funny disturbing. This should be the perfect ending. Make Love not War!!! YOLO!

HAHAHAH!

No, i mean...their American accents sounded like the way Inuit people speak english...like a tribal accent.  I heard it very strongly, but maybe I was making that up in my mind.

No, you're not making it up. I do remember that too. Maybe because English is my second language, so I notice every different accent, cadence and tonal shift very clearly, but the elves in DAO did have a distinct speech pattern different from the other races. It was American-ish English, but with such a consistent rhythmic tick across all the city and Dalish elves that it had to be intentional. Even Zevran used it, under his more pronounced accent.

It was totally there, you're not crazy yet. ;)

It makes me wonder, how would most people prefer Cullen to woo a female Inquisitor?

Recite poetry and sonnets, a medieval courtship, a bizarre copper marigold relief, or just a straight to the point "We'll bang, okay?"

I'd be down with all three. Just don't tell me worms are going to take my virginity when I'm dead, (**** you, Andrew Marvell), cover yourself in goblin fruit, (get help, Christina), or describe me using condescending animal imagery while pretending to be Welsh, (hope it drops off, Owen Sheers), in the poetry, m'kay?

lets see a little romance is fine. Not so much for the bizarre copper whatever that is supposed to be..courtship could be nice. But that might take to long so I am gonna go for the "We'll bang okay" and my gaming life shall be complete.

I want it full of angst, but that is just cause I am a drama queen!!  Like, he wants to, but it is hard for him, but then he finally does cause the friggen world is coming to an end and why the hell not. Like...awakening an unbridled passion that he never knew he had until he gave it a shot.  That is sooooo hot to me!!!

My big thing is...i want HIM to woo ME, in whatever capacity. I was never a fan of the ME female Shepard basically having to throw herself at folks.  I know she was a strong female lead and I get why it was written that way.  But Alistair was so cute in DAO cause he just couldn't seem to help himself, which I think is alot more fun. I would like a little of that, but with a bit more intensity cause Cullen is older  and a bit more angst cause he has been thru hell.

I am a sucker for that whole kinda thing!!  I know its cheesy, but...oh well!! :D

Aveline's method of trying to woo Donnic in DA2, which was hilarious, adorkable, and hilariously adorkable.

I think a mixture of all three, although I'm getting the sense that he may be more of an actions-speak-louder-than-words-guy, ever since the War Table livestream where he said, "How? They've only words at their disposal," with a little bit of derision in his voice. Well, that, and he's our direct action guy.

I kinda hope that he'll remind me a little of Mr. Darcy, actually! Still a little shy, although he's grown past that, or at least, has learnt to deal with his shyness over the years. More reserved rather than shy. If you don't know him well, then he might seem very distant, but if you're willing to give him a chance, then he'll surprise you with his sincerity and warmth. He's got some very subtle tells of his affection if you know what to look for, although he may have to be gently reminded that he may have to be more obvious than he's accustomed to.

I may have gone on a P&P kick randomly last night, so I might still be swooning from Mr. Darcy and am biased because of that.

I do hope he's a little more direct in his romance arc, even if it's a subtle kinda directness. If that makes sense. :S

Hey neighbor! Live in KY.

Well, I'm several states away now, but I lived within an hour of Bowling Green just before I moved away for good (which may have been before you were born unless you're 35ish  :P). Most of my family fled, er, moved away from TN as soon as they could, at least a couple are in KY, actually.

Ft Knox but my parents live in ratcliff...I believe that's how its spelled at 2 months old dad was transfered to germany

I think that's pretty much what happens with 90% of the people born in that area. ;)

Hey, whereabouts in the southwest? I'm from Arizona originally. Hence my inability to adjust to evil day light savings this week. Ugh.

Texas (which about like saying "the east coast," the state is way too big). I've lived in every large city in the state at least once but now live in purgatory  . Heck, apparently I got the wanderlust gene for my entire family (I've moved so often that when I actually stayed at one address for four years, my family started checking just to be sure because the address seemed too old :P ).

Personally, I don't like men reciting poetries and sonnets to woo me (I'm weird, OK). I would prefer that he subtly hint my Inquisitor that he would like them to spend times together. Just him subtly creating an athmosphere where both of them can open up, spend time together: be there for each other when things go wrong, trust one another, etc. Share a part of his inner thoughts, the part of him that he never shows any one. Actually things like these often need to be... encouraged by one side at least. If he's going to be the one who woo the Inquisitor, then he's the one to do this.

I don't think that it's possible to be implemented in game, but actually I like guys who woo without words. There are ways to convey meanings and messages without any word.

EDIT: I find that everytime I fall in love with someone, it's when I start to see the person as a person. Normally this always happen after a long friendly and heartfelt discussion in the evening. Beside a fireplace might work REALLY well.

Oh gosh, I adore John Donne!

Perchance he for whom this bell tolls may be so ill, as that he knows not it tolls for him...

And T.S. Eliot:

I will show you fear in a handful of dust....

The BBC P&P is the only P&P  ;) Although I watched the Keira Knightley version on netflix last night, and I was surprised to find out that I actually really like that Mr. Darcy! He portrays the shyness and social insecurity of him very well! But Colin Firth is still my favourite Darcy.  And I'll check out Kate Berdoll!

Perchance he for whom this bell tolls may be so ill, as that he knows not it tolls for him...

...and perchance I may think myself so much better than I am, as that they who are about me, and see my state, may have caused it to toll for me, and I know not that.

I'm out of likes, so LIKE!  :) My favourite piece of work from John Donne is actually "Song," which is a part of the reason why I love Prufrock so much.

Completely agree with you on the "direct action guy" part.

Are you talking about Mr Darcy from Pride & Prejudice? Maker no, this guy is horrible for the first half of the book! Can't stand his arrogance...

You know, going from 19 to 20 was really horrible for me. I had Peter Pan Syndrome that dictates that I still feels like a kid at 19, and once it's 20 "now it starts with 2 so you're not a kid anymore..." :(

Now that I'm going on 25, people keep reminding me that I already live a quarter of a century...

I was pretty sure you were younger than 30 but didn't want to say in case I was wrong. Yeah, I used to drive the KY fairly often too, visiting family in TN, but I stopped about the time you were born (when I moved west of TN instead of north)  :P

Yesssssssss

If thou be'st born to strange sights,
Things invisible to see,
Ride ten thousand days and nights,
Till age snow white hairs on thee,
Thou, when thou return'st, wilt tell me,
All strange wonders that befell thee,
And swear,
No where
Lives a woman true, and fair.

And dammit, I'm out of likes too.
