I actually think he looks rougher in DAI (which I like)... all Cullen in good Cullen for me though

 

He has scar now but in DA2 he had black circles under his eyes and little more wrinkles I think. His features were also sharper when they are now rounder.

 

I dont dislike his looks in DAI, he looks great but DA2 will remain as my fav I think

I kinda think the opposite and not just because of his scar... it's kinda why I like his new DAI model better, more rough and less "neat & tidy" look for me. I think I also like how he looks older & more my age

I do love how we all see different things in him personality and look wise.

He is ridiculously hot in both models though

How is it that when we couldn't have Cullen he was a bit of a hottie (by bioware standards) and now that we can finally take that lost puppy home, he is kind of old and battle worn?
I feel a little cheated not gonna lie.

It's just a matter of taste. I loves me some old, scarred and battle worn warriors, so getting a less boyish and more roughed up Cullen makes me feel rewarded for my patience waiting for a chance with him through the past games, not cheated.

The male LIs in the past couple games mostly tended to be on the pretty boy side of the scales, so it's a good change of pace that they're looking mored rugged and mature this time. It gives fans who prefer their men on the rougher side a fair share that we've been craving for while too.

Now if only I could get my hands on dat uncle Teagan...

This is so odd cause to me DA2 Cullen was the mature rough Cullen I wanted and now he looks more boyish to me XD I have seen many tumblr post saying too that he looks lot better now but I can't just agree. Still looking a lot forward him in DAI though he doesn't have that sharp nose and jaw that I liked anymore ^^

Cullen's romance needs to be one of those that gets the Inquisitor teased to death. Just trying to picture all the ways Sera and Dorian would tease her about macking on the dashing Commander Ser, how Bull and Blackwall would make lewd jokes about his ~Sword of Mercy, how Vivi would casually judge the Quizzy for dating someone who smells like dog and wet socks... it needs to happen.

Ah, well fortnight is very much so still in circulation over here. Like Scottish money. (Which no one will accept by the way!!! At least in England)

I've had very few problems getting people in England to take Scottish money - especially nowadays when every penny counts!

Like, Cullen and Hawke never seemed to be at each others throats, but they... respected each other?

Is this just pure headcanon or can you legit make them friends/not friends in DAII?

If you played pro-templar in act 3 he would call you his friend, I believe if you play extreme pro-mage (killing Thrask in Act of Mercy etc) he would just call you Hawke.

Apperantly that option will get removed soon. It was a mistake or something since there was no way to implement it in DA:I.

I think Mike said at PAX Aus that this choice doesn't make sense and that they will remove it.

This is... pretty disappointing. There's no way to implement anything in DAI about that stupid Ostagar prisoner or that pointless halla tile either, but they're not removing those ones. I thought the Cullen tile was a pretty good way to add depth to your Hawke's personality, since it was totally possible for a pro-mage Hawke to be against Meredith but still be civilized enough with Cullen to earn his friendship greeting, and for a pro-Templar Hawke their casual friendship with Cullen was an important aspect of their relationship with the Order at large. It was certainly much more indicative of your hero's disposition than the fine points between paying some random nameless guard for food or convincing him to give it away or whatever.

Of all the useless fluff tiles clogging up the Keep, they have to go and remove one of the few that actually gives Hawke more character depth than a simple yes/no quest outcome. :\

But.... you can't actually kill Thrask in Act of Mercy, you can kill the other *******, but Thrask isn't killed off until Act 3, regardless of what you choose.

It is. It's very subtle and easy to miss, but depending on certain things you do through the game he greets you as either an "old friend" or "less of a friend to the Order" in Act 3.

Haha, it's just different perceptions, I guess. DA2 Cullen just looked like a very tired young man to me - a ragged air of exhasperation and bags under his eyes like he hasn't slept in a year or five, but still very boyish features under the signs of exhaustion. DAI Cullen looks a lot healthier, and generally more well kempt, but he has crow's feet and forehead creases and laugh lines and scars and that obscene panty-dropping smirk now that all give him more "grown man" airs to me.

I do miss the sharp nose, though! I love them big noses, it was my favorite feature of his face. The rounder jaw I can chalk up to him getting older and losing the youngling sharpness to a growing aging softness, but the loss of that beak nose that could run for miles is a tragedy.

Still, all of Cullen's models are delicious, I'd tap any which one they offered in DAI. I'll always mourn the loss of the original flavor DAO ginger noodles, but I'll gladly take the new Prince Charming haircut too if comes with wrinkles and scars and indecent bastardly grins that promise one hell of a ride on that, ahem, fine Templar sword.
