Ooooh yeaa I remember that Isabela part! A friend *did* Isabela after left by Fenris, then she'll make the BEST comment. Apparently the best combination is that

1. You do with Anders first, then tell him it's only one night fling

2. Do with Fenris and he'll leave you

3. Then, do with Isabela
That will give the best party banter ever. I love DA2, being the only one in DA series that you can actually *do it* with all 4 LIs (not including Seb).

I'm a huuuge Fenris fans, so everytime I always wait for him

I didn't play other games from Bioware except the DA series. But sometimes being whiny and showing signs on not being courageous does not convey with the deepest part of the character. Remember Neville Longbottom from Harry Potter? That whiny and scared & bullied & not courageous little boy on the first book turns out to be one of the best and the bravest at the end. (He's my favourite character actually, even more than Harry & Ron)

I've never managed to pull all those complicated sleep things off lol I managed to not break Fenris romance, kiss Anders, have him come to the house and then send him packing lol Fenris romance survives that but it's a bit rough on poor Anders.

I'm talking about the banter after Fenris leaves you, Anders mentions it, Fenris says his bit, Isabella chimes in and Fenris replies, it makes me chortle lol.

Hehe,I'd never bring my LI when I...er had my Cullen appreciation moments in the gallows.

My Hawke would be saying "Fenris, chill out, I'm looking but I'm not touching okay!!"  as she wipes the dribble from her chin lol Fenris shuffles awkwardly and eyerolls and Cullen is Mr Oblivious and just stands there :D

/Sigh .... I just gave an example of a "whiny, scared" warrior, just like you did with Alistair. I did not say anything about his character, just how he appears. I actually liked him in Badur's Gate, just saying ....

Just watched the racism video. I LOVE Cullen, can't wait to get to know him better in DAI!

Can't romance him till my 3rd play through though -.-

Hehe, my priority got all screwed when I watched Enemy of Thedas trailer (the first one I saw), and recognizing him, then stumbling on BSN Cullen thread. That being said, falling into this thread is the best thing that happens to me on all my DA loving days!

I see your point actually, it's just by saying that I still find Alistair courageous after all that whining. Since whining a lot does not exclude being courageous or not. So, you go whiny warriors!

Even Duncan was whiny once...

Awww...you guys are so cool! Thanks for all the answers. :)

He seems indeed a damaged and conflicted character, which is very much the type of characters I usually like. :D That's why I chose Anders in the first place....among few other things :D But I was also looking for something else to like about him. Eventually, I decided to try his romance, just to see what he's like. When I was asked a dear friend of mine, she told me about him leaving Hawke, and gave me some details. But I was too focused on romacing Anders, and didn't ask more about Fenris. So, thank you for detailing that for me. :)

Now, if I think about it, I wish Fenris had stayed and talked about his fears with Hawke. It would have been interesting to see how she would help him through it. Not just run and hide... for three years! But I guess I'll just  have to deal with that, if I ever decide to romance him, lol!

If it helps, it doesn't really affect anything romance related that you would see in game.  I mean you wont really miss out on anything with the romance it's just a different story. You still get the same amount of content as with the others.

As a green-eyed redhead, I am quite amazed at how many of you will be choosing that combo for your Quizzies - it's completely understandable, of course.  Redheads Rule!  :D :D

He has flashes of his old memories for second during his sexy time with Hawke and that was very hard on him to loose that, he doesn't leave just needed some time to think over things.

Thank you. :) Thank you all for answering my question. The more I stay on this thread, the more I realize how awesome is to be part of a Cullenite. This community is full of kind and wonderful people. I love you, Cullenites!!

Bethany is the only one that ever notices my obsession with him lol  'Do we have to keep coming here? Why do you keep speaking to him?' Oh dear young sweet innocent Bethany lol

If ever I can choose my natural hair colour, I want to have that red hair and green eyes. I've meet several people with this combination + freckles (most have names starting with O' and drinks Irish beers like water) , and all of them are amazingly stunning & have strong & adorable characters.

Apparently his markings pain him when touched, that's why he doesn't like people touching him. One of the two alternatives of his romance scene is that his marking glows when Hawke reached to grab his arm when he wanted to leave. That one really makes a sense of the whole story of him leaving Hawke afterward

This is something I never knew. I don't think I remember someone telling me... or my memory is bugged, lol!

But seriously, he feels pain when touched? Literally?

Said on Wikia. In game I remember him mentionning that the pain still linger even long after the marking was created, and on other conversation he stated that it makes him feels uncomfortable physically when being touched. And if you're Lady Hawke you can ask him about that just after spending the night with him.

I have freckles, and our name originally had an O' in front of it, but we dropped it a long time ago!  :D  Bits of my family have been crossing and re-crossing the sea between Ireland and Scotland for a few hundred years.  Between that and the Vikings, it's no wonder my dad's family are crazy!

I read his Codex entry. It was mentioned there as well, about the pain still lingering after the markings were created. And when I read that, I thought they meant emotional pain, like him still being traumatized after all he'd been through... which he is too. But I never took that literally...

Oh, I was going to do a dual dagger rogue for my first play through, but watching that archer video from Angry Joe made all my old City of Heroes blaster instincts sit up and take notice. I might have to do that. In fact, I think I will do that.

So, I have the name Morgan floating around in my head ... not sure if I'll wind up using it yet, but it doesn't sound too bad with Trevalyen. I have a whole spiral binder loaded with potential names though ... It could easily change.

And I'm really looking forward to customizing the hair and eye colors ...

Morgan Trevelyan... that sounds really cool actually. :D

  Wow that's awesome! I really like Celtic cultures actually ^_^ (currently learning to play the tinwhistle...).

It's mentionned somewhere. In any case David Gaider who wrote Fenris told us not to dwell on that fact. So it's maybe like more personal headcannon than anything else. Actually when you got that romance scene with Hawke grab his arm and the marking glows, he winced. And then Hawke asked him whether it was physically painful after *doing* it that makes him uncomfortable, he said it's not that.

Can you imagine the outrage if the the guy did same thing to the girl....

I don't have to imagine, I believe that the Italian word for such outrageous behaviour is "Silvio Berlusconi"...  :?

Yeah, I watched it, it was good of him to skip over the dialogue in a lot of places so we weren't spoiled too much.

Well, I was WEAK, so I said to myself, I'm only going to watch one video and of course the random one I picked was Angry Joe's, so now consider me completely prologue spoiled, I feel like I've just played it   :o

Spoiler

Bring on Nightmare, I'm going to have to try it now.........death will be my companion.

Edit - I don't actually think there's anything spoilery in here, except a mention of the fact there's combat in the game but I'm tagging it anyway to make sure that it's not a problem for anyone.

On the plus side, HOLY CRAP!  It's so freaking exciting.  I loved it  , Joe was playing on nightmare and he wiped in the final (prologue) boss battle a couple of times and I'm like shouting at the screen, 'You're an archer, WHY are you closing in, you're not getting additional damage from closing   (although, maybe he was - that could be a thing, huh?).  I was completely involved in his game and oh man I just want to play  :D  I don't know whether he was supposed to be showing so much but it was the frigging best advertisement for DAI.  I don't think anyone could have seen his video and walked away without wanting to purchase the game.

Oooh I know what you mean. Ever since Skyrim I actually get traumatized to get a companion killed (because that will mean him/her REALLY died and won't revive after the battle).

First time I played DA:O, I was freaking that all my companions had just "died" on my first ever battle... I didn't realize that they were actually just "faint" and not dead. So now I'm replaying DA:O and DA2 in Nightmare...
