  Wow that's awesome! I really like Celtic cultures actually (currently learning to play the tinwhistle...).

 

It's mentionned somewhere. In any case David Gaider who wrote Fenris told us not to dwell on that fact. So it's maybe like more personal headcannon than anything else. Actually when you got that romance scene with Hawke grab his arm and the marking glows, he winced. And then Hawke asked him whether it was physically painful after *doing* it that makes him uncomfortable, he said it's not that.

I suspect it would have been more obvious in the game otherwise. Either way, thanks for sharing that.

I actually imagine that Mr Jerkass McPointyHatFromTheChantry will be either like Sister Petrice or I'll having so much fun killing him. Just tempted to make a Dalish Elf that do "aaaah so I'm Andraste's Herald? Sorry guys for me Andraste's just another schizophrenic Dragon Age's version of Joan of Arc".

 

In any case Cullen's badass and not having good first impression is not really bad you know... Sometimes it's even give more intrigue

Yeah, given that there are a ridiculous amount of people who actually liked Petrice and are clamouring to see her back, it seems that Bioware listened and we're getting another Zealot we can either kill or side with? I'm personally hoping that he's the guy we see Leliana gank in the Choice and Consequence trailer.

 

Perhaps Cullen's bad impression of us will be changed by what we did at the Breach, since Scout Harding suggests that it impressed a lot of people and Cassandra seemed to stop thinking of the Inquisitor as the culprit in the short time of fighting alongside them?

Both, plus the Welsh, the Manx, the Cornish and the Bretons.  The Galicians in Spain are Celts too.  And there is Celtic blood in some parts of Russia.

I'm a DAO nightmare girl and a DA2 normal (bog standard, whatever you call the medium setting).  I couldn't get into DA2's combat at all, it just drove me mental.....so NO turning up for me.  I'm not a masochist, I only turn up the difficulty when I LOVE what I'm doing so much I can stomach the thought of doing it all 100 times over.

 

I honestly haven't felt so excited for a game ever.  I loved DAO but I didn't follow the development and I got it a few weeks after it was released when my brother told me that I needed to play this game and I've been playing it ever since.      For DAI, I've stalked these boards daily for years like a lunatic and now my excitement level is overwhelming, just 12 more sleeps.  I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve

Hey cullenites A little bit off topic here,so the DA:I is coming very soon and I was very curious about your future inquisitors.It would be really nice if you decribe their possible appearence,character and traits.As for me,in my first playthrough I will definitely play as a human female mage and I will try to make her diplomatic and kind and considering the mage/templar conflict,I think I am gonna side with mages.

 

Well my inquisitor is going to be a female elf rogue assassin. She has short black hair, really dark brown eyes, and light brown skin (I might include a few scars).

She's straightforward, open minded, and cares for the wellbeing of all people, but doesn't like being in the spotlight, and would rather work from the shadows. She might lean more towards mages, but that could change depending on her interaction with more people.

I agree that spoilers should cease in this thread and be taken elsewhere, but is it possible to unsubscribe from receiving emails, for those who want to be extra cautious?

 

Edit: Or perhaps the thread title can be updated with a "NO SPOILERS"  addition? This thread moves so fast, and you're going to have people missing the requests in-thread for spoilers to be kept out. What I see happening is, people who want to avoid spoilers are going to get spoiled, and people who didn't know better are going to get yelled at and feel bad.

My first playthrough will be an Elven female.  Was thinking of warrior but may go rogue.  Not sure.  She's cute, pretty, with an innate sense of humor that can't be beaten down and an insatiable curiosity for stories and lore.  She'll most likely adore Varric and will have a near hero complex over Cullen.  Until she gets to know him better, hehe.

 

My second playthrough will be a Qunari male.  Definitely a mage, abandoned by his mother when he was still a toddler after she realized he had magical ability.  He's lonely, defensive of anyone getting close, always afraid to trust those closest to him.  He feels no particular affinity for other mages -- Qunari mages are brutalized and human mages are ostracized.  He hides what he is, more than anything.  And the breach hasn't changed his mind.  He'll ultimately fall in love with Dorian.

Your Inquisitor sounds exactly like one of my Fem!Shep. Except that someone like Shepard can't really work from the shadows... unless she becomes the Shadow Broker (no pun intended).

Hum, it looks like he's pulled it.  I can't view it now either.  I read somewhere earlier that he wasn't supposed to have revealed so much of the game and so maybe he's been asked to take it down until later or he's just realized he's accidentally broken some rules?  

 

I'm not unhappy I saw it though, it was AWESOME.

People can be naturally slight in real life without it being unhealthy and destructive. That is just the body type they were born with, the same as someone inheriting a larger body type. I'm not saying that there aren't unhealthy, unrealistic images shown in the media because there is (a lot! In my country we have just had a type of manikin taken out of a chain of clothing stores because it showed ribs sticking out to an unhealthy degree) but people need to remember that being slim isn't something that some people have to starve themselves to achieve. I know plenty of very slender people and quite frankly they would look odd if they were to put on weight because it isn't something their body type was built for. My daughter is very small for her age and I don't want her growing up to think that her being slim is something that is wrong for her to be when she is just naturally like that. I was very slender until I put on weight from pregnancy and I would love to be back to how I was because my back condition really plays up with the extra weight.

 

I guess I just don't like the fact that if you call someone overweight (which I am for my height) you get people jumping down your throat but if you say that a person is too "skinny" even though that is their natural figure and there isn't much they can do about it, it seems to be okay. I don't understand the double standard. 

One of my closest friends would love to have a curvier figure instead of being straight up and down but no matter what she does, she can't seem to put on weight without turning her lifestyle into a very unhealthy one.   

 

In saying all this I would like to see a way to change the body of our PC's in future games so we can determine the weight, height and musculature of them. It would be nice to see a female warrior that actually looked like she was swinging around a two-handed beast for most of her life. Not everyone looks the same in the real world and it would be nice to be able to reflect this in the game.

So you're a Fenris fan then......if you are, I'd like to ask you something, since I never romanced Fenris. I was told already about it, but I want to dig in a little further. What's with him leaving Hawke? I never thought Fenris would such a thing, being the one adored by everyone, unlike Anders. I was about to do a PT and romance him, out of curiosity if nothing else, and when I heard he leaves Hawke, I changed my mind.

He claims it has to do with his lost memories. 

 

Me, I always figured it was more, that he hadn't yet come to terms with his history.  Whether it was what he remembered or not.  The fact remains he has a tremendous level of unresolved issues, fears and anxieties, uncertainties over his own value and place.  There's Danarius, too.  His old master continues to hunt him, and the last time Danarius found him while he was surrounded by supporters, Danarius convinced Fenris to turn on them.

 

I think Fenris fears hurting Hawke, if Danarius shows up and manages some incredible twisted hold on him.  That, and he's unsure of his own value in Hawke's eyes.  He's an elf and an escaped slave, in a world where such labels are generally derided.

Fenris is still healing, and such deep emotional scars take time to resolve.  Once he manages that much, Fenris most assuredly goes back to Hawke.  It's an incredible romance.
