I'm just going to announce my media blackout too. Things are getting spoilery both on the forums and Twitter and I already know too much. See you guys on the other side of the 18th (as long as I manage to keep away) to gush over the in-game Culleny goodness!

You'll need to stay away until after the 21st, which is when the UK finally gets the game.  :)

@Cerulion - I've played both games, including Awakening, about 20 times each.  Sometimes I keep a partial pt just sitting there at a bit of the game I like, to cheer me up when I'm down.  I'm not counting those as complete pts!  :D

I've played and completed DA:O 6 times. I've started it countless times, but usually didn't get past the Circle, cause the Fade part is just .............. ugh, I hate it.

In DA2 I got 16 completed runs and a couple started ones.

If you play on PC, there's a mod that lets you bypass the Fade, so I've heard.

Skip the fade. It is what makes the broken tower quest actually enjoyable IMO.

Lol, yeah that's why I bought it for my laptop, just for the skip the fade mod, but those aren't being imported, because they are on the wrong profile .. meh

Wow so spoilery in here...still... I made it so that this threads emails go to my spam folder... When DA2 came out it got spoiled for me. I'm not letting that happen this time. I'm going into the game clueless just like DAO and that's the way I like it. I'm only reading stuff about crafting n platform performances. Other then that I usually skip it. When DA2 came out I was excited about Anders being in there... I got my game 2days late and already knew the big spoiler about him. That sucked

so I'm sorry I haven't been my regular posty self here....but I've waited far too long for this game to come out to have it ruined for me just a few short days before its release. I will pop in and out when I can...other then that look for me on, deviantart and fanfic.

I'm more then happy to speculate with all of you because that's fun. But I'm not reading any posts or responding to any that involve details of the game that I don't want to know. Specially the ones that involves Cullen spoileries

I don't agree. The Fade is what makes DA games so special and I really appreciate that part. There are other reasons that, in my opinion, the Fade is a really important moment of these games especially in DAO. I agree, however, that the special texture is quite strange... not good only strange and generally a little difficult to accept in the beginning. I found that, in DA II, the spent time in the Fade was too short. I would increase the importance of the Fade in this specific game especially because of the specialization of mages (rifts' mages). Probably adding a toggle in order to have "normal" textures in the Fade could be usefull.

Just curious, how many PTs had you all done on DA:O and DA2, and how many do you think that you'll really do on DA:I?

2 for DAO, about 15 for DA2.

Planning 4 for DAI, not sure how far I'll get lol Really having fun with modded Skyrim right now lol

Nothing is being imported from DAO/DA2 this time round - you just go into the Keep and recreate the major decisions of a playthrough, and then those parameters are imported into DAI.  So you can use the mod and pretend to the Keep that you didn't!  ;)

I get that, but you still import your Wardens/Hawkes. I usually play on my Xbox and have my Tag linked to one of my 2 Origins accounts (don't know why I have 2) The account with Origins on it is not the one linked to my Xbox account. I was going to switch it, but apparently you lose ALL your games and achievements when you do that, so I noped out of that.

I understand that the Keep doesn't import choices and stuff, but you know the Keep STILL can't read all my dlc and items I got on the Xbox and when I see that I barely get like 60% on DA2 when I know I pretty much have everything from that game ... it sucks, even though I know it really doesn't make a difference.

I lost some of my Wardens anyway - they were on the old server, but they're not there now.  I'll still be playing the old games, so I'll get the achievements back eventually!  :D

I played Origins on my Laptop a couple of times (got to try the mods) and I have to say, I feel sorry for you PC players, lol. The controls were horrible imo, I just can't do that click thing and definitely not quickly, so I was real glad for the pause button.

I heard a lot of people complain about the Xbox controls, but I rather play with a controller any day than with mouse/keyboard. Respect to you PC players, I couldn't do it =)

The PC style suits me better now that I have pretty bad arthritis in my hands.  I've just about abandoned my Xbox just now, and I can't play properly on it - have problems holding the controller.  Hoping that I can get the arthritis stabilised, and then I can get back to my beloved Assassin's Creed games!  But you can play Inquisition with your controller via the PC, so I'm told.

I might get it later on if there are any worthwhile mods, but for now it's pre ordered and pre loaded sitting on my Xbox taunting me =P

Given that the new engine is supposed to be all but impossible to mod, I wouldn't be holding my breath there!  I ordered my DAI on disk, as the copies of DAO/Awakening I got from Origin went t i t s  up earlier in the year, and their support in getting the problem sorted was non-existent.  Amazon usually deliver games to me on the day of release anyway, so I'm not going to miss much in the way of playing time.  I have a freezer full of pre-cooked meals, and I have stocked up on painkillers.  The day before release, i will clean the house for the last time for a few weeks.  I am ready...  :D

So sense we're over halfway to 4000, are we going to decide not to have a page celebration until a few months after release? Sense we'll all be busy playing the game :D

Personally, I have a whole headcanon built around that flower and Cullen

C'mon R2, you can't just say that and then not share it. :P What's this with Andraste's Grace and Cullen, it sounds cute!

Dear gods, even now this thread is moving fast. :D So, it seems the latest discussions involve how we play our games best (console or PC), and the Fade. I too have used the mod "Skip the Fade". It's not that I don't like to explore the Fade or I don't think it's an important part of the story (which it very much is), but the damn chapter is too long, and I move slow, lol!

As for what I like to use for controls, my keyboard and mouse are my best friends. I've never played DA on the console, but I have tried other games on the console (I used to own an XBox 360, until it got fried in a thunderstorm). And to me, the keyboard and mouse work a lot better. :) ....and I never pause (while in combat) in games.... well, there are exceptions, but usually I don't pause. :D It doesn't feel realistic to me anymore. If that were real, I wouldn't be able to hit "pause" button, and think what move to do next. So, I learn the commands and use them, without pausing. It's quite fun actually. :D
