You know, I was fine with Cullen only being an adviser and not a companion, cause I was so happy to have him in the game at all.  But you know what I will miss?  Setting up Alistair to shield bash anyone who attacked me in DAO...it added a little sweetness to the battle...my man protecting me from my foes.  Would have loved to set Cullen set to do that!

 

I got the companion blues when Cullen was confirmed to be an advisor too, but then, thinking about it, it was probably for the best. In DAO, DA2 and the three ME games, I was really bad at taking my romance out of the party. I had to take them everywhere, even if the quest didn't fit them at all, and that always took a spot of someone who might've been better suited for this or that quest. But I just couldn't go anywhere without my love interest, whoever it was for that playthrough.

 

So if Cullen had been a companion, I would totally have done that again in DAI, and always had one less spot to rotate the rest of the companions through. The way it turned out, my Inquisitor gets to hang out with everyone and shuffle the party as it's most convenient without favoring her boyfrando; and when she goes home to Skyhold, Cullen's always waiting for her with a welcoming smile and a warm embrace. It's a pretty cute scenario to picture.

I tend to get stuck on one party in DAO because I only worry about gearing for that party. Everyone else gets hand-me-downs. I admit, I've usually kept my current LI in the party, though, because it can be entertaining to kiss them in front of the others.

Yes it is, though it was a bit confusing at first.

 

You'll get used to it- it's very similar to Fallen London, which I've played for ages.

I think it's maybe a little less...well I don't know. The writing is different.

 

My problem is I go through my actions so fast and then spend all my money on dawns to refill because I'm so impatient.

If it makes you feel any better at least The Last Court has 20 actions, Fallen London only had ten last I played. (Which I admit was awhile ago.)
