Yeah, Flemeth's legend is indeed a mystery. And Morrigan... we don't know for sure whether she is a bloomage or not (still don't like her :P).

BUT, @The Elder King mentioned something really interesting. I'm curious if that's true, and where we are told about that.

Summoning Demons might Not be Blood magic, but Another Branch of Magic.
Blood magic grants the user an additional, more powerful way to fuel spell, blood. As far as we know you Can summon demons with mana as well.
So no, it's Not necessary that Flemeth was a Blood mage.

Now, that I didn't know. I thought there was no other way to summon demons, but by using bloodmagic. Where did you get this information? :)

As I said, it might be possible. The lore isn't clear in how summoning demons work. We do know that blood magic and demonology are different branches of magic though, so it's possible that you can summon demons Without blood magic.

Well, the one example I can think of is when Vengeance summoned several demons in Legacy, but I don't know if that was more due to him being an upper level than actually Anders.

At the very least, I think demon summoning is possible, but blood magic might be more adept at doing it than with simple mana.

Since I am terrible at the game and won´t get much further, I would very much like to know where, how, when and why you meet him?

I don't know yet, just heard that people have met him! I guess I have to wait and find out, I have only seen Morrigan (comes always) and Carver so far!

Possibly.
Also if you can summon spirits without blood magic (and mages can. Necromancers do this), I don't see why you won't be able to summon demons without blood magic, even if the latter might work better.

That could be true. But it's weird, because in the games so far (as far as I remember), every time a mage summoned a demon, they used their blood to do it. :)

And even if you can summon demons without using bloodmagic, if you work with demons, you are already the bad guy, wouldn't you agree? And demons can never be trusted, so there's no advantage in working with them.

EDIT: Right. I forgot about the necromancers, lol!

Yes, those are the only two I've met, and I'm way behind the people who've been buying Dawn (I started over twice while I was working out how things worked, then a third time when I apparently had some major invisible luck penalty - couldn't even get the 80+ percent chances most of the time   :P ).

Quite, you have a good point with necromancy. I was about to use Janeka as another example, but she's also a blood mage, so that doesn't really count.

Ok, so what Flemeth really is stays a mystery. And we could summon demons without bloodmagic. But there is still a little thing we don't know much about that could make Morrigan a bloodmage: the DR.  :D Maybe we will learn more about both of them (Flemeth and Morrigan) in DAI. Meanwhile, I'll be continuing to dislike Morrigan.  :P

Yeah, it's not only blood mages who can do this, since we know that Mediums like Rhys are also able to summon spirits. It tends to depend however on where they are and how weak the Veil is in that location?

The Grey Warden Prison in Legacy presumably has the Veil very weak at that location, due to all the demons imprisoned there and because that the prison uses powerful blood magic to reinforce the seals. It'd follow that Anders, who's a Spirit Healer anyway, couple with Justice's influence, would be able to summon a few shades?

Spirit mediums aren't the same as Spirit Healers though. And summoning a wisp is completely different than trying to summon say, a Pride demon. I think Legacy was more of Justice, who is by that point, very close to being a demon, than Anders. In fact, since we only saw it happen after Anders lost control, I believe the majority of it was Justice.

One thing i don't like about the Last Court is that it sometimes times out halfway through a 'play', and you not only lose the card, but you don't get any outcome from it - it's happened to me several times now.  :(

Maybe Flemeth is more like Anders?  At least so far as carrying a spirit of some kind in her is concerned...

I don't think the DR used magic as such - except perhaps to ensure that Morrigan conceived.  And even then, I don't think that would be blood magic?

Yeah, I figured that it was Justice's doing since we know that he was blurring the line between Spirit and Demon at this point, I meant that it probably helped that Anders is an accomplished Spirit Healer and has forged a closer connection to the Fade than most mages?

Of course, that scene with Karl at the Chantry also suggested that Justice's manifestations cause a distruption to the Fade, so that might have drawn the Shades' attention? The codex says that Shades are demons that exist in the real world but without any real form, so it's probably easier to summon them than a full-bodied demon from the Fade proper?
