Of course, that scene with Karl at the Chantry also suggested that Justice's manifestations cause a distruption to the Fade, so that might have drawn the Shades' attention? The codex says that Shades are demons that exist in the real world but without any real form, so it's probably easier to summon them than a full-bodied demon from the Fade proper?
I don't even think it's that Vengeance causes a disruption. I think the spirit/demon is simply powerful enough to summon the shades. And yes, shades are probably much easier to summon than a desire demon or a pride demon.
One thing i don't like about the Last Court is that it sometimes times out halfway through a 'play', and you not only lose the card, but you don't get any outcome from it - it's happened to me several times now.
I've had this thing where the card sometimes doesn't refresh at the end of the 20 minutes, which is a pain?
That could be true. But it's weird, because in the games so far (as far as I remember), every time a mage summoned a demon, they used their blood to do it.
And even if you can summon demons without using bloodmagic, if you work with demons, you are already the bad guy, wouldn't you agree? And demons can never be trusted, so there's no advantage in working with them.
EDIT: Right. I forgot about the necromancers, lol!
It's completely fine to dislike Morrigan. Not Everyone has to like the same characters (I love her thoughOk, so what Flemeth really is stays a mystery. And we could summon demons without bloodmagic. But there is still a little thing we don't know much about that could make Morrigan a bloodmage: the DR.
Maybe we will learn more about both of them (Flemeth and Morrigan) in DAI. Meanwhile, I'll be continuing to dislike Morrigan.
Good evening all!
Quick question - I noticed that the 'friends with Cullen' tile was removed from the Tapestry.
Did that happen when Last Court went live, anyone know?
Thanks!
Well, I tried The Last Court a bit. Am I the only one who just can't get into this thing? Text based games do nothing for me. I gotta have my pretty graphics and epic sounds to get immersed in a game I guess.
If y'all are interested in seeing screenshots of all spells and talents and their trees shown thus far, we (the Skill tree thread in Scuttlebutt) have gathered them all into an album and have labeled them according to their particular tree.
What we have thus far:
Mage
-Winter
-Storm
-Inferno
-Spirit
-a decent portion of Knight Enchanter
Rogue
-Sabotage
-Subterfuge
-Archery
-Dual Daggers
-most of the Artificer tree
Warrior
-Vanguard
-Battlemaster
-Sword and Shield
-Two Hander
The only things we are missing are just specializations: Necromancer, Rift Mage, Templar, Reaver, Champion, Tempest, and Assassin. We otherwise have all the base tree spells and talents for each class.
This is just so you can have a look and/or start planning your combat builds, or perhaps if you just want to see some of the options available. Combat is gonna be a bit different in DAI, so this might assuage some of your worries or questions about the subject. ENJOY!!!

It's not a bad game and purely for interquel reasons, I'm trying to give it a go. However, it's hard to really get into it and the pace is slow. You have to come back every so often and I like everything NOW.

They said they were going to do that since it had no purpose and was confusing people.

Thank you! And bless whoever created that because clicking on a section blows it up large enough for me to actually read without having to get up within inches of the screen and squint.
And the names of some of the warrior abilities! ![]()

Does it seem like the mage powers have been reduced in this game? i absolutely loved stonefist and it was my absolute favorite to do as a mage. Petrify then stonefist...it made playing a mage seem really badass to me (ie, more like a warrior with their sheild bash). I am so annoyed that now it is all lightning and fire. Oh well...at least I still get to freeze people. Still, not the same as hurtling a huge friggen stone at em!!
I am a geologist, so maybe I am biased... ![]()
Also, I HOPE force mage comes back. I guess I just like to think of my mage more as a telekentic person rather than a magicky mage. It may sound weird, but it seems so much more...tough...

If it's an consolation, Stonefist is in the Rift Mage tree now.
Also, Fist of the Maker is back, though it's now called Veilstrike.
It's under the cut

All in all, much as I'd resisted looking at these until now, looking at them really helped me make up my mind on a lot of details about my Quizz's skills in combat, from both a tactical build and roleplaying angle. Thanks for posting them all , Elu.
Yes, it is totally cool to get turned on by skill trees. I've gotten all my builds ready for all my mages and rogues thus far.

Yeah, this is what I've seen. It also times out on me quite a lot, but once I log back in, it always seems to pick up right where I left off. The not resetting my plays properly is annoying, tho.

I don't know when it happened, so good to know. I know MLaw said it would be taken out, so at least that's consistent.

Well, the Skill tree thread has actually been sitting on the majority of this info since the beginning of October, so I have combat builds planned for all my PCs as well as for all of the companions.
Now, when you say an extra bar, what "bar" are you referring to?
Also, we start off with 2 talents pre-selected based on class and weapon choice in the beginning, though they've said you can get the respec item easily once you're out of the prologue.

WHOOHOOO! That is awesome!! Rift mage is it is then! Thanks!

I tend to be cautious about where I venture out to
. I'd seen some of it go past, but it was always in such small font I couldn't read it and didn't feel like it was worth eye strain.
Mmm, somewhere I read or heard an interview where they were talking about mages having Barrier which places an extra bar on each member of the party that is a slowly eroding bar of damage mobs have to eat through before party members take direct health damage (did I manage to make sense with that description
?) At the same time, I thought they mentioned a similar individual ability that warriors had, either for themselves or someone else? Sorry, I'm horrible about correct names for abilities and terminology (at least I can remember Tank, DPS, and Heals
.) I'm glad to hear we can respec the pre-sets later too since I was always annoyed at having points forced into abilities in DAO that I didn't plan to use for that Warden/companion.
Is that a glitch?
Apparently DA2 doesn't play nice with DX11. I got this the whole time I was playing with my new system, and then really bad artifacting towards the end. The good news is that it clears up if you exit out of the game and restart it.

Ah!!! Ok, the warrior version of Barrier is called "Guard". There are certain abilities that help give a Warrior "Guard". If you look at some of the combat videos, you know how Barrier puts a bluish bar overtop a health bar? Well, guard puts iron looking plates on your health bar. And unlike barrier, Guard will stay till somone knocks it off from you. The trade off is that you start with little bits of guard and you can continuously build them up during a fight versus Barrier that will automatically give an entire bar but decays quickly. Make sense? If you want to think about Guard abilities, take a look at the Sword and Shield ability "Shield Wall". Also, the entire Vanguard tree for Warriors (the skill tree with the purple and yellow color scheme) has the majority of the guard giving abilities. And, short of Shield Wall, I'm pretty sure all guard skills are in Vanguard.
Lol, hope that made sense!
Hmmm, maybe I should start offering my services to help make combat builds now. Bet I could make a pretty penny off of it! ![]()
@Tishina look at the PC's health bar in the picture below. That iron looking stuff is Guard. Actually, that High Dragon also has guard over its entire health bar as well.
