And yet, would Cullen be who he is without that experience? If he hadn't been tortured and then sent to Kirkwall and seen both extremes, where would he be now? We don't know what happened at Kinloch Hold (at least not after the Witch hunt visit); if the templars there became part of the rebellion, it's likely he'd either be one of them (after all, he would have seen what happened at Kinloch after he returned) or dead for trying to protect mages.

Long time lurker here. I wish I could draw or write as good as all of you, I constantly use up all my likes here. I plan to romance Solas first because he has a hidden agenda and I just know that once I romance Cullen I'll never be able to romance anyone else (just like Fenris).

I think I would have Cullen not say the "mages are not like you and me line" especially when there are mages standing right there! I mean Anders isn't even trying to hide.

I have the same problem, I have only ever romanced Fenris in DA2 and Alistair in DAO, even when I'm determined to try somebody else, it never works out and I end up with the old faithfuls lol.

 

That one line from Cullen was a doozey it has shaped his entire personality and motivation for some people which is such a shame.

@R2, that's a great plan! pity the in game characters can't meta-game, if only he knew then what he knows now

Not a big deal, I was just alarmed for a second that someone had reposted it on Tumblr and I was about to report it to Tumblr staff LOL;

 

But I agree, Cullen is absolutely going to be my first LI choice as well. To be honest I don't know much about the other LIs, and I probably won't play an elf for a while so Solas is out of the question. But given Cullen's history and this huge sense of curiosity I have about what kind of person he's become since DAII I really can't see myself choosing anyone else till I know. I just have to know.

It's a fair point that his character has grown over the course of his experiences. I thought about that myself.

But I can't assume that he NEEDS to be tortured to grow. He might have made his way (and survived) without that.

Still...You might be right. From a purely narrative perspective, I'm not sure I'd change much beyond a few details of DA2.

As you approach end game (Divines visit) you need a combined 15 items between trophies, secrets and viands. As far as I can tell, these become a bargaining chip of sorts in making her visit a success. Gads I'm hopeless at explaining things, uhm... If you have e.g x6 trophies, x6 secrets and x3 viands, that will give you 5 high chance attempts at winning with the Divine. If you have x5 trophies, x5 secrets and x5 viands, you would only have 3 attempts. Your x15 needs to be made up of multiples of x3's of the same type to get the maximum attempts to "win". I hope that makes sense without sounding condescending I think 15 is the minimum, not aware of any maximum.
You don't turn them in anywhere, not yet anyway.
So far, Ive found the easiest ones to get are Viands & Trophies you get those from hunting. I've only been using Trophies when the hunters card comes up and I want a favour.

OK Gotcha. I think. Thanks. That's more complicated than I realized. But getting things in threes I can do. In theory.

Plenty of us here who just spend time on the thread combating our own timidity while wallowing in half-envious admiration of the other half.

Oh I agree. I imagine he *wouldn't* be the character we know and love today. Instead, it would provide him with a clean slate of experiences, and who knows who'd he'd end up as without his pink bubble of woe. Maybe he would have continued to be the pro-mage templar he was in DA:O and would have turned into someone more like Thrask in DA2. Or, maybe it just would have been something else that introduced him to the extreme badness that can come from magic, and he's fated to see both sides and ultimately become the moderate he seems to be in DA:I. Is it fate or chance? I can never decide.

But still, it's what I would wish for him, even if we, the fans, wouldn't necessarily benefit.

I've read rumblings although I can't find an original source (maybe one of the awesome thread trackers has it) that BW themselves are showcasing a vid tomorrow (Monday) of the Prologue. I'm really not sure how true that is but be warned folks just in case

Speaking of artwork, I was hoping I could get some input on what direction I should take this painting in. I'm still sketching it and I'm having a hard time deciding how I'd like to position his arms. I was thinking I could have him resting his hands on the hilt of a sword that's been thrust vertically into the ground, but I could also just have him resting his hands on the sword while it's at his side, the way he does in many of the scenes he's appeared in thus far. Which should it be? If I don't decide this now I can't move on with my life, that's how bad I am at making decisions when it comes to art. xD;

Damn you that's already gorgeous   He's obviously resting his arms on my Inquisitors shoulders lol but for "art" I'm willing to sacrifice that for his sword, I like the sound of the sword hilt with the sword in the ground though...now chop chop go and finish it, can't wait to see it

I love Cullen but that scene I had posted to me is the number one thing I wanted to change, although I agree that a lot of the stuff he went through in Kin lock hold changed him for the better  in my own thoughts.

There are many, many /head-desk moments in DA2 and that one is a ****** for sure lol.

Your clue is - It's festive, often sits on a tree or dinner table and you pull them to get a prize lol stupid censor *grumble*

Yeah, like doing blood magic spells right in front of a dozen templars in the gallows. My Hawke was always a mage and  wanting too say< "Are you stupid, to the nice Templar, because can't you see the staff that says I am a mage?"
