No, he's not. In the original Last Supper painting, Judas was the fifth from the left, in fact. The fellow in the Last Supper painting who's 4th from the left is Peter, and he's perhaps the most loyal of the disciples.
I think the confusion was in body versus head placement...
It started with that "Last Supper" BS lol. And then people got themselves all worked up over nothing. It's ridiculous. There's no evidence whatsoever to support these theories at all.LOL I was wondering where this was all coming from.
Just a little bit of something from wikipedia I found interesting, in thinking about the placement of characters in terms of the last supper (as mentioned above). Note, I am NOT AT ALL a religious scholar and know very little about the Bible. i just found this kinda neat and wanted to share.
Cullen is in the same position as Batholemew in the last supper painting: According to wikipedia
"He is described as initially being skeptical about the Messiah coming from Nazareth, saying: "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" (sounds like something Cullen would say about a mage, no?),but nonetheless, follows Philip's (note, Leliana = Phillip in position around the table) invitation. Jesus immediately appraises him as "Here is a man in whom there is no deception."
Kinda neat...
Also, just to mention, my own suspicion is that Cullen was stuck in at the end because he wasn't finished yet. He blinked but that was it. Same with Blackwall, also stuck at the end. So, the positioning around the table could mean very little storywise. #justsayin
LOL I was wondering where this was all coming from.
Sorry! I think it started with me trying to draw parallels between Andraste and the Herald of Andraste, as a potential line of angst in the story. I know nothing of betrayal!!! ![]()

LOL Is that all? Really? Oh. Well. There you go then. ![]()
Lol, it does seem like that sometimes doesn't it? I'm pretty open minded about the new kids on the block, I like the sound of them all so far. I suppose there is an small element of once bitten, twice shy but it isn't a major worry for me........yet
Well we are all like NO.....NO.......it cant be Cullen. I grew up with that guy. We had a thing.......an interaction........an understanding. It must be some treacherous Orlisian or something because it cant be our good guy Cullen! lol
These things do tend to balloon a bit...but I think it is all because we are trying so hard to stay zipped up about spoilers!!!!! Oh, how the mind wanders...

Does it really matter, what people are speculating about? It's just speculations and not hurting anything. Lol, I mean go back a couple hundred/thousand pages and read some of the speculations we made about Cullen, how is this any different?
I'm pretty sure Mike Laidlaw said in one of the streams that there *might* be a chance of betrayal. I don't remember which one, unfortunately.

I think the point isn't to ridicule speculation. The discussion however seemed to take it as a given that there is bonafide evidence of a betrayal. Which there is not (if it's indeed based on the Last Supper thing). Speculation is all fine and good. Spreading misinformation, not so much.

Now *that's* a different story!

I wonder who's Judas in the last supper painting.
No no...the last supper thing was just a side topic that sprang from the betrayal thing which sprang from writers breaking our hearts thing. Folks were talking about how the writers tend to crush us by having sorta tragic endings and I wondered 'out loud' how horrible it would be if Cullen betrayed us like Andraste's fella betrayed her. I don't know anything about any ACTUAL betrayal, etc, but that sorta started spinning out of that.
Dammit, i need to play this game! i think we are going bonkers!
I think it is all in good fun tho... ![]()
I also thought there was a mention of betrayal in the Inquisition by a dev (Laidlaw?) a while ago? I feel like this setting just kind of begs for a betrayal of some sort -- or at least a grab for power. I think some healthy speculation is fun, plus I don't think anyone here has said anything as being fact, or maybe I'm misunderstanding.
If there is betrayal I am going with Leliana, because it sounds like fun ![]()
FYI, for those interested... there is a writer on the fan fiction site who is doing character stories based on the last supper setting. I can't remember who or what it is called, but you can probably find it using keywords if interested. They were very well written and the writer seems to know alot about the parellels, etc...
There is a precedent. Both of the previous games involved the possibillity of a companion turning on you. The last supper imagery is fueling a LOT of it but...I think it's all going to play out depending on our behavior and choices.
Now, I sincerely think the Last Supper argument is entirely ridiculous, but you somewhat have a point about companions, though we have not had a companion necessarily betray us personally. Most times, they leave and never come back. You could argue Anders as a betrayal though, I suppose.
In what context, specifically?
He was talking about relationships between the characters.

Huh..... ![]()
First I had ever heard of betrayal actually having some decent evidence. That said, I don't think that's a guarantee of being betrayed by companions.

For those interested. this person seemed to really research it and think about it. A neat idea for a fan fiction series.

Seconded.
Well, better speculations than spoilers no? Actually why not just put it like this: Let's assume (a theoretically possible event) that there might eventually be a betrayal within the companions/advisors. Who will it be?
There, if anyone wants to discuss on this possibility then let's this be possibility and not hard fact. Except if we must stop talking about speculations too? ![]()
