At this stage I'm pretty much willing to talk to anyone willing to listen/read about anything lol.

I find it's actually getting harder to remember what is known fact, what is fan fiction, speculation for fun and at times, outright nonsense :D It's a wee bit of fun though lol.

They say a persons brain is like a filing cabinet, well if that's the case, my DAI drawer has been hauled out and strewn across the floor lol

Huh.....

First I had ever heard of betrayal actually having some decent evidence. That said, I don't think that's a guarantee of being betrayed by companions.

Oh, I highly doubt it will be unavoidable betrayal, I'm pretty sure if you're going to be rolling an AssQuisitor, you'll have some opposition towards your goals

Oh yeah, that I most certainly can see happening. But when I thinking of betrayal, I'm literally thinking of the grand scale, aka companion working for the enemy (like the Judas reference).

THIS!!!  I am so wired for the game to come out, I will basically get on board with whatever anyone wants to chat about.  I have no life but grading papers and chatting with you guys at this point becuase real life is annoying the hell outta me!

So, I am completely happy to wax idiotic if that be what we're doing!!  LOL!!! :D

That should be a very interesting story element. What's the evidence that actually no one (companion/advisor) will actually betray us? BW loves complicated story so why not? That'll make a huuuuuge twist in the plot

And that war table it's a kind of picture like a bunch of people in front of a table, and The Last Supper is a very well known painting depicting a bunch of people in front of a table, so it's only normal that someone will come up with this idea (confirmation or not).

-8/10/11 days to the game!!! Hang on everyone! :)

I wouldn't completely discount the Last Supper thing. It's been out there rolling around in pop-culture lately with appearances in Battlestar Galactica and Lost I believe. When something like that catches on, it tends to circulate and get picked up and used several times in different places before it submerges again for something else. And let's be honest, this is the type of story and mythology that can make use the imagery very easily.

I'm not saying it will happen or that there is any deep significance to it, but trends occur all the time.

But I also know BioWare is all into ripping my heart out with a spoon. So it wouldn't surprise me if at least one of the LIs can turn into something less than wonderful. I just hope it's not Cullen. That would be shades of Anders all over again.

I'm gonna watch the trailer/playthrough/demo-thing, I'm going to do it NOW!  I have promised myself 500 times, I wasn't going to but that was clearly the wrong decision and I think it's important to be able to recognize and admit my mistakes and woolly-headed thinking.  Cullen wants me too see him in all his game footage glory, I see that now  :D  :D  :P

Y'all do realize we don't have anything at all to base any betrayal on right? We have no evidence that we are going to be betrayed, period.

I'm with this. I do think there was a reference to something, but I seem to recall it in the context of "if you ****** someone off badly enough." I think there's the potential for any of them to turn on you (walk out when you need them, etc.) if you behave badly enough.

Ok...not sure what hit the fan in my absence, we were having a nice civilized conversation about angst and story arc then it derailed.  My comment was phrased as my own opinion on Cole as the possible betrayer, and yes I've read Asunder.

Also for Eluvianus Rex:

According to Mike Laidlaw in an interview with Eurogamer, companions will leave the party if approval ratings are too low, similar to Dragon age: Origins, and it is possible to only have one companion remaining in the end. It's also possible for the companion to betray the Inquisitor depending on the choices made by the player.

Since he stated 'companion' we know that Cullen isn't in the mix . We also know that our own actions in game can cause it...which is fair.

We need Cullen....courtesy of R2sMuse I believe.

As far as the betrayal thing, when the game went gold this was posted by Mark:

These are characters who can challenge you, support you, fall in love with you, and maybe even betray you over the course of hundreds of hours of playing. Perhaps you’ll do the same with them. Looking over the vastness of the game we’ve finished, it really is the Dragon Age experience we’ve always wanted to make for you.

I'll likely be side eying Solas but I really like him and everyone else so far. If it happens, I hope we can prevent it this go around.

Yes! That was what I was remembering.

I think things were still civil, just potentially out of hand regarding rumormill-as-fact :P

Ducks and runs for the exit as the Mages on thread throw fireballs at me..... :P

Let's face it: how many of your companions do you honestly see still at your side if you wind up with a Demons Win! ending? If there isn't some betrayals going on in that one ... I'd be sort of surprised.

And I did watch the trailer with the full spoiler edition, and all I will say is that on release day I am climbing the mountain.

Still wonder who's that one companion... Logically, it's more likely will be Cass buuut! Such intrigue.

I haven't read Asunder though I plan to in order to learn more about Cole. I do tend to favor Templars as well, though. Even playing as a mage. DA 2 was a mix of both for me depending on the situation but I sided with Meredith at the end. I don't think mages deserve such a watchful eye but the Templars aren't completely in the wrong either.

Actually, DA2 made me want to blow them both up and sow the ground with salt!

The only reason I didn't side with the Templars more was because Meredith was so obviously nuts. Had someone more like Cullen been in charge, it would have been a lot easier to do even though the mages clearly didn't go full "off the rocker" until the Templars tried to annul them.

I think they played Meredith a little heavy-handed against Orsino to strike a perfect balance between the two.
