Speaking of Movember, my partner runs a competition every year for it and participants can win things like ride-on lawn mowers and chain saws etc. There are heaps of rules to actually growing the mo, like it can't connect to sideburns or it is considered a beard and things like that. Here are some pictures of last years winners and yes, I do have to look at my partners ridiculous mo for the whole month as well.

Speaking of Movember, my partner runs a competition every year for it and participants can win things like ride-on lawn mowers and chain saws etc. There are heaps of rules to actually growing the mo, like it can't connect to sideburns or it is considered a beard and things like that. Here are some pictures of last years winners and yes, I do have to look at my partners ridiculous mo for the whole month as well.

Well, just a fanfic I had written on Cullen's failed Movember. This is my very first time and I've written it in two hours after not sleeping whole night long so pardon for the grammar.

Winter (Cullen’s Failed Movember)

 

Winter was coming. Cullen could feel it, there was no mistake. The chill had started a month earlier than he was used to back then in Kirkwall and Ferelden plains, but he would not expect less on this altitude. The end of autumn had left all the trees bare and the Skyhold courtyard covered with fallen leaves. The golden and red colors that had given the courtyard a touch of glory had now turned brown. The sky was pale blue. Everything seemed to be so colorless, so bare. Even the fortress looks grey and grim.

 

Cullen could hear the crisped frozen leaves crackled under his boots. He gave out a long sigh. Winter had never been his favorite season. It reminded him of all those years he passed in those cold towers, but he would pass through this one as he had passed through any other dreary moments in his life. Winter was the season when they took Amell away. It was the season that, a year later, he was being kept prisoner and tortured for months back then in Ferelden. He always loved summer more, since everything was green and the world seemed to be gentler.

 

He kept his fur cloak around him tighter and sat on a stone bench. It was very cold outside, and he had many works to do. Yet for unknown reason he lingered. He enjoyed the moment of silence and being alone, since all soldiers and castle inhabitants were doing their work inside.

 

The sound of someone stepping lightly on the dried leaves made him turn. It was Trevelyan, wrapped in a light and silvery coat, standing beside him. He could barely heard her approaching, her steps was so light.

 

“Tre… Trevelyan,” he greeted her, stuttering a little in his surprise.

 

“Commander Cullen,” she greeted him back with his formal title, yet with a softness in her voice. “I’m sorry to surprise you, I hope that I am not disturbing you”. Gracefully she sat beside him.

 

He shook his head, unable to answer. There she was, with her red hair and green eyes, and that pale green coat that wrapped her. So colorful, so lively, so beautiful compared to the greyness around her.

 

She turned her faced, looking to the faraway mountain. There was an eagle soar through the sky in the distance. For a moment, neither of them spoke. That was the first time they had a moment alone since that moment. That damned moment that she asked him to tell her honestly what he thought of her, and whether in some way she had offended him.

 

That question had greatly destabilized him. He was first suspicious of her being a mage, and their meeting each other was brought by events that were out of his control, by the Breach. He had decided to put aside his feelings to join her and Cassandra and Leliana to build the Inquisition, and there were many works to do to keep him occupied. Somehow, after working for a time with her, there was a kind of understanding growing between them. It was always without word, just a small smile or an understanding look. And he had started to cherish her in a way that he did not want to admit. He was in for denial. Him, an ex-templar, a Commander of the army of the Inquisition. Her, a mage, the Inquisitor herself. They had works to do. This was not the time to let his feeling wonder on places that it should not. And on the bottom of his heart, the scars of old memories ached him still.

 

Yet, when she asked her question, he was surprised by him actually admitting his feeling to her, and all the guilt and conflict he actually had. She was surprised and shocked, but then proceed to approach him and they shared a passionate kiss. Then suddenly his sense of duty kicked him and he gave her a sad look and shook his head. Then he left her. The look she gave him nearly broke his heart. Maker, he hated himself for doing all that.

 

 “You had started to grow beard,” she said suddenly, yet very softly, as if speaking to herself. “And your hair has gone quite long.” Her voice called him back to the cold courtyard.

 

Cullen’s hands tightened on the bench. “It’s cold here,” he said finally. “So I let my stubble grow.”

 

She turned on him and smile, “And you would let that hair grow long too? It will take a while before you can bring them all to a knot at the back. The front will fall to your eyes. I noticed that you tried to keep pulling them back. Why don’t you cut it?”

 

“There is no one who could do that. Back then in Kirkwall we have old Ser Roderick doing that for all of us boys,” he replied softly. “It is of no importance, I can handle it well.”

 

“Do you hate me for doing what I do last time we talked?” She now looked at him in the eyes. “I should admit that I was feeling the same with you Commander. And both of us are honor bound to duty. So I will never ask you to do something that will make you choose or burden you. I beg your forgiveness.”

 

Now he felt like a fool. He was a Templar and she was a Circle Mage. But hell, there was no more Templar order as he saw fit and neither Circle of Magi. Both of them might die today or tomorrow, the life in the Inquisition is the magnet of danger. He would not stay in place looking at the back of the woman he love while she was forced to go away, not anymore. He would act now.

 

Suddenly, he put his hands around her cheek and pulled her to a kiss. This time, after the kiss he looked into her eyes and pulled her into a small hug. They both smiled.

 

“I have a solution for your hair problem,” she said with twinkling eyes.

Later on, with hair neatly cropped short and his face clear of stubbles, he could still feel her touch at his head and face. Soft, gentle touch as she cut of his locks one by one.

 

The winter may be cold and grim, but he had found the only flower that will bloom despite all the bleakness of this world.

Yeah, it's funny. I was lurker my whole life until I originally found the Cullen thread. I guess it's hard to know how to begin when everyone's barreling along. But now... it'a hard to imagine how you can contain yourself from chiming in! LOL Especially given:

To be honest, no. Cullen is a intelligent reasonable person. I think he won't care who we side with as long as the fighting is resolved though I do not doubt that he will give us his opinion on the matter.

 

Edit: If you are concerned about Cullen because he is The Inquisitions Commander then I suggest reading the first page of this thread. It will give you more insight into what kind of a person he is.

Lol, have you seen a newborn lamb in spring bouncing around the paddock? That sh*t is cute man and is the only love for sheep that comes to mind. 

Usually Dan has to stay clean shaven for work so he gets super excited about going all out for Movember.

I doubt that since advisors seem to be with you till the end (or very close to the end). He might not even disagree, we still won't know how things will work out and for example Evangeline sided with mages although she was pretty loyal templar as well. So I think it will be situational as well, does siding with mages mean independent circles, something similar as Tevinter imperium, killing all the templars or sth else? We don't know yet

I'm thinking I might be moving over to the non-spoiler group if it gets to be too much. I'd like to keep chatting with the people who want to see spoilers but if it gets too bad I'm going to have to leave for a bit. I am impressed though that the thread has been pretty spoiler free up to this point.

I think the main thing is that people ask first before posting and then they clearly label the spoiler if the people in the thread say it is a-okay. I dunno, like I have said, I am kind of past the point of caring as long as it isn't anything too spoiler-y but then I could regret this line of thinking further on down the track.

THAT'S what I'm most afraid of. I also don't what to lose that impact of finding things out for myself in game.
