Yep, the deluxe is the step up from the regular game. I am so going to have that soundtrack blasting while I play the game. It will be glorious!
Oh god their Inquisitor really looks like Conan o' Brien! Just shows how great the face CC of DAI is :3
Also minor Bull spoiler

I knew it! When I read that line, it was in Bull's voice in my head. ![]()
I just hate how we haven't had any proper templar companion. Just some mages who are pro-mage freedom and then pro-circle ones. We lack on personal touch to templars in the games.
In DA/O we only get an ex-templar recruit who is quite pro-mage (Alistair). In DA:2 we got Thrask and actually I'm all for his cause. But true, we never had a companion with whom we can spend hours getting to know the person. We got several apostates for companions (Morrigan, Anders), so it's much easier to understand their point of view.
Now that we get Cullen, I really wish to know the templar side of him too, in addition to the man behind the soldier. What's his opinion on mages? How the world should fare with mages? These kind of questions. And I wish an honest discussion with him on both my mages and my non-mages PTs.
Anyway now we get ourself another Ex-Templar, let's pass many of the next 100h++ to get to know him better.
Nawwww, Cullen. Why your eyes look so sad? Come 'ere and let us hug you!
He looks sad but it's because my Inqusitor has spurned his advances.............
I've been away reading more fic, found another good one slightly au but crap, it ended sad
I didn't need to read that lol So I came back here for some happy talk and see a sad eyed Cullen, tis not good enough Cullenites lol
You might also consider that Cullen isn't even a templar anymore in DA:I, so he might surprise you. Who knows exactly where he stands, so maybe keep an open mind til you can draw your own conclusions?Yea im hoping Templars are better in this game i would say around 90% of players side with mages in DAO and DA2.
I notice that a lot of anti-Cullen sentiment comes from the fact that he does end up saying pretty harsh things towards mages at the end of DAO and in the beginning of DAII. But I also think it's worth remembering that Cullen is a character who is still learning as he goes. His character has never been set in stone and his perception of mages has been constantly fluctuating. It's easy for us to sit here and point at the few instances he's said things that have made us uncomfortable, but as a character, he's had to live through years of his life in a world where he's been taught to think certain things and where he's experienced terrible situations. From DAO to DAII he's continuously battled with himself over what he thinks he should be doing and what he wants to do, and he's continuously had to defer to some other greater power.
DAII's ending marks the first time he's ever been able to make a really drastic decision himself, and I'm sure we'll be spending a lot of Inquisition exploring exactly what effect this has had on his mindset as a whole. I'm pretty optimistic about the direction he's headed in. As a member of the Inquisition he'll have to face the real threat and overlook everything else in the name of unity. It's a fantastic place for him to finally learn to make a more neutral judgement about what's best for the world.
Just thought I'd let you know, I just noticed that Allan has created a Scuttlebutt(No Spoilers) forum on the board. It sounds like it will be well modded, it hopefully gives those of you who are avoiding spoilers somewhere else to safely visit
. It's fairly empty atm but he is taking requests as to what threads should be moved there from the spoiler version.
In the stream they kept saying that all the ladies want to see Dorian. I mean yes, he's hot, but Dorian is more guy's guy than ladies man ^^;
I kept wondering about that. I mean, I think Dorian is cute enough I'm planning a playthrough where my Inquisitor will romance him. But I know he's far more about the hot dudes out there than any of the ladies. I certainly want the Inquisitor I plan on romancing him with to be a pretty hot dude, I mean.
Can we rewatch the twitch stream? I can't access anything.
If you mean the FPJ one:

I haven't seen a youtube link yet.
So apparently, Freddie Prinze Jr and Conan O Brien are playing DAI in a few minutes live.
Oh NOOO I missed it! Is there another link for this? On youtube, maybe?
Edit just saw the link above, sorry!~
Well for me, I am also pro mage, and most all my Hawkes aproved of Anders actions and sided with the mages, after all, she couldn't let her sister be killed or made in too a emotionless husk because she was born with abilties to wield things into being that others do not have. My Hawkes that are mages, which are a bunch, since I like to be able to throw a fireball in too peoples faces, and enjoys throwing lighting bolts at fools as Anders has said, but I like Cullen he is what a person is like when they start to grow up by learning. Though, a lot of DA2 made him look stupid like him not realzing a mage is standing right in front of you, dude saying you shouldn't treat mages as people is a bit harsh to the mage that could have left you to die.
However, I tend to veiw that as Cullen being writen in way that is meant for the Pc character being a warrior, instead of a mage, and not have the two are three mages in your group with you at the time.
Lol, that is his most annoying line in any of the games because there is both wisdom and ignorance in it. No wonder people get confused about his character when they hear it.
Can't stop laughing....

Every time I watch this I think about how cute Cullen looks but I also think about the people fighting in the background and wonder whether or not Cullen is training his troops or if the Inquisitor and Cullen have taken some time out right in the middle of a battle to have a friendly chat. ![]()

So do I now.
Lol, I'll have a very hard time trying not to harass this poor sod.
Too goddamn cute.
Well, that was an education......for the first time ever I looked for a webpage that would give me some sneaky spoilers, typed in one that I've seen mentioned on these boards......I didn't find ANY spoilers, didn't find DAI but geez, I found some weird sh!t O.o *shakes head* john-in-france, if you are around, I could do with some of your leftover brain-bleach lol.

Inq - "Are you questioning my orders Ser?"
Cullen - "Uhmm no, no, woo-break it is then. Carry on men, I'll be back.....sometime"

Do I get the permission to post it here? ![]()
No spoilery things, just him in his
Agreed, it made him look so stupid saying that stuff to the mage standing in front of you. Heck, even the Templar recurit Karen says something too that regards, as well. but I'll let him pass with that one. A lot of it sounds ignorant to me, since a fireball thrown by one mage can not light a city on fire, you would need about a dozen to do that, in the first place. He's a Templar he should know about, what mages can and can't do. I would have had him say that "The Chantry sees mages only as weapons to be locked away, but I see them as people that are not like you and me, and this is the reason I belive the Templar Order was created to protect the public from them, and also to protect them from themselves, when needed." This sounds more neutral than the "They aren't people crap."Lol, that is his most annoying line in any of the games because there is both wisdom and ignorance in it. - (To Hawke, Enemies Among Us, Act I) "Mages cannot be treated like people. (ignorant) They are not like you and me. (wisdom) They are weapons. (ignorant) They have the power to light a city on fire in a fit of pique." (wisdom)
Of course that played while I was in long meetings. ![]()

Some of my personal thoughts when Cullen was saying those stuff to a mage Hawke:
1. Cullen had lived through the worst experience he could get with mages (Uldred's doing). He knows what a tower full of harmless mage but a handful deadly one can do
2. Blood magic is actually able to do mind control. So it's not weird that he gets suspicious
3. He actually said that clearly to a mage. He's honest and earnest in what he believes and how he will act. I'm not fully agree with his point of view but I give him full credit for this.
