Hmm.. Given DGs known preference for a 2/2/2 split on sexuality I'm not surprised by the news, especially now that I
do believe they'll have the LI NPCs and, therefore, six LIs in all likelihood. Not surprised but disappointed... Not so much for myself as straight relationships are what interest me personally, but for those who really enjoyed across-the-board bisexuality/playersexuality... Since it must seem like a step backwards for them?

honestly I was hoping they'd keep LI restrictions to stuff like class or race (if only to facilitate ease of romantic cutscenes, ya know?) rather than gender. I think it's harder for some to get into the mindset of playing a different gender or different sexual orientation than their own, especially when they really had a personal investment in the chance of a particular story. Like, if Cullen ends up being M/M only I'd be sad, definitely. As playing out that romance would no longer have the same personal connection/immersion for me. So I sympathize with the flip side or just similar situations and feel like it'll be less inclusive a game for it? If that's how it goes?
I dunno, I mean, sure... In real life it's not like you can make someone you are interested in suddenly share your sexual orientation (a hideous thought. Forcing it I mean) but this ISN'T an RL Sim, ya know? It's fantasy.. Sure, characters must be built with interesting personalities and stories, I dig that. I just don't think sexual orientation is one route that must be realistically followed in a game where, in the past, that issues was neatly avoided... Liberating oh so, in some ways?
I'm torn. The story teller in me loves the idea of more set personalities providing for more in depth interaction of substance. But the gamer in me just wants people to enjoy the game as much as possible as the fantasy escape it's meant to be.
...I hope that made sense! And if it was somehow offensive in any way, I apologize in advance, it isn't my intention!
