Well I'm pretty sure this will be what old gen gets if BW doesn't figure out solution for hair textures with patch.

I just have to say that the bard songs in Inquisition are incredible. I'll most likely just be standing around in the tavern soaking up all those melodic melodies. In Origins, Leliana's "song" was hands down my fav, but with all these new ones from "random tavern chick" she blows Leliana out the water, especially since one of the songs she does has the same instrumental as Leliana's. I'd advise if you care for the ost, and don't mind the mos trivial of spoilers, to give em a listen :3

BW should really say something cause these aren't the graphics they have been praising. Older gen has games with great graphics like Skyrim so I was waiting something like that not something with plastic hair. I wonder if the hair issue was why Bioware refused to post anything about older gen. I really hope there will be solution to this.

Sigh, at least we aren't in this alone. PS4, XONE and PC with recommended settings seem to be only one's without shiny plastic hair : / PC with mininum settings (even medium I heard) and older gen all have the shiny hair issue. So since the problem is so big I'd think that BW wants to fix it.

Yeah the grapics wern't always that bad on the 360, however, I do think some of those photos were photoshopped or playing on low resolution.

XBox 360 and PS3.

I really do feel for you guys, but the sad truth is that no patch is going to make up for not having good enough hardware to play the game. I actually give kudos to Bioware for it actually being able to play on tech that old.

No I'm not having a dig at you guys with the old kit, just pointing out that BW have tried to be inclusive, whilst never lying about the platforms that they wrote this for. My 5 year old gaming PC is capable of running it....just, my work PCs laugh at the spec, but I'd get court martialed for loading it on there, and my 10 year old PC with similar tech to yours, well it runs my cycling software and that's all these days...

Try not to expect miracles your graphics card and RAM just isn't up to it.

There is no excuse for DAI looking worse graphics than ME3 and DA2 for example (in terms of hair). It's freaking big thing and this is ridiculous. BW should fix this, there is lot of players who are affected by this huge issue in the game.

In that case cut the price. The content I'm getting is not worth the price I'm paying if BW doesn't fix this issue. Creating great looking character is one of most important things in games that have CC and thats what I should be able to do no matter what gen I'm using.

That's not it at all. I have a great PC. But like I said before, was informed there wouldn't be a massive difference. So I figured I would buy it for 360 since all my Da games are on there. But, if its really bad graphics, I would like them to be upfront about it so that I would have spent the same amount of cash for the PC version. But so far I think I'm ok with what I'm seeing

I am glad to play the game on the PS3, considering I don't have enough money for the PS4, and I thought the graphics wouldn't be much different. Yet, if the hair looks like that...it's a little too much. I can handle the different styles, but that is not good...

Have either of you tried a Battlefield 4 demo?

The biggest hold up for graphics is the video card, its VRAM and your standard RAM, plus bus system on the motherboard and the processor itself. In all of these respects the Xbox 360 is at the minimum spec for game. No amount of software tweaks will change that...I'm sorry.

If it is any consolation many PC gamers will also get shiny hair if they play on medium graphics...though BW have said there will be a patch to make it less shiny (don't take this to be better...more likely matt hair). Hopefully on all platforms.

3D graphics are a memory hog and Frostbite is not the most efficient engine (good graphics....but uses tons of resource).

No, I have no intrest on FPS's.

Mat would be lot better since the issue wouldn't be as eye-catching then.

This is what my Warden looked on PC that was below mininum requirements:

The hair texture isn't good there but it isn't eye-catching at all so attention is on the face that looks pretty great even with mininum requirements. As long as BW takes shiny away the hair will be okay.

I understand Panda's and the others point. I'm just glad that those horrible pics aren't what we'll get in the game, except for the shiny part (thought Varric's weren't shiny...Maybe some option can lower the issue).
Anyway, if there's a patch coming up that will fix or upgrade the shiny issue it'll livello come on last gen as well.

This is, something I wonder, why they even went too frostbite for this game known this is not a efficient engine?

Panda I've seen your post and as I have already pointed out:

This is a different software engine, it has no relationship to DAO, DA2, or Mass Effect graphics!

It requires different hardware to perform optimally.

I see little point in continuing as you seem to be having problems understanding what I am saying. Let's leave it there.

Because it is difficult to mod...though not impossible. It also gives very good 3D graphics with the right hardware.

A lot of service centre calls are 'why did X or Y not work?' when the person was running an unofficial mod.

It makes little sense to go with a less efficient engine, for a game with a triple A title.

Runs back into the thread from the main forums...

Shakes head, for the love of the Maker, people not content with spoilers are now making their own up!  Real, friend of a friend, saw it posted on Reddit, maybe, but not confirmed and I'm going to troll people with it in the character thread and spoiler section. Gah!

I understand but that is Bioware's problem to solve not customers who is still paying full price of inferior version. I don't think why I should somehow be happy with awful textures in hair. Idk why you even keep pushing this to me.

I've never played on a console, so I can't directly make any comparisons but up until a year or so ago I had an ancient pc with a clapped out graphics card. In my experience, you just had to go easy with hair colours, the lighter colours (whites and light blondes) always looked awful! blotchy and plastic whereas darker shades looked absolutely fine. It seems to me that whoever created that char in the picture deliberately chose the worst hair colour to use as an example to bring about a reaction. I haven't seen any but are there old gen or low setting pc pictures of Inquisitors with mid-darker hair colours? Your Warden is lovely Panda but she has black hair, it would be interesting to see her with white or blonde, I don't think she would look anything like as good as she does.

I have a feeling that at worst, those of us with lower specs, be it on console or pc may feel restricted in the actual shade of hair colour we use in order for it to look better, it's disappointing for sure but I honestly don't think it's going to be that bad. (unless you really want to play with white hair, in which case :()
