I don't actually have much of exceptations for Cullen as romance since I don't think BW will write him romance I'd love. I think it's going to be very romantic, full of chivalry and cute moments ugh. I think I will enjoy it although it won't be my thing. I just look more forward getting to know Cullen than actually romancing him.

 

I'm pretty much putting my hope on Dorian romance-wise. I haven't still seen anything I wouldn't like about him and his romance ^^

 

It's the old different strokes for different folks again, personally I would be disappointed if by what we know of Cullen, he wasn't chivalrous and romantic. He has always seemed very much a gentleman. I'm not a particularly romantic person in rl and hubby would laugh if I even suggested it but I admit I do like it in my Bioware games.

Dorian sounds super fun and actually a really nice guy, I hope to be good friends with him.

 

 

As long as he doesn't end up like Garrus, that's all I am hoping. I mean I loved Garrus but they really over did the love of my life, honey, sweetheart thing wayyyy to much and ruined him.

 

I loved Garrus' romance, I always took his banter as more akin to patter, tongue in cheek, especially in Citadel Dlc

 

 

My plan is working...the OH will be too busy playing Borderlands the prequel to bother watching me playing DAI....normally he sits and laughs at the BW romance scenes...and flirts. I think Femshep is his all time favourite wind up....

 

Has anyone noticed that the male flirts always seem...less creepy? 

 

When I'm playing my DA games I have my headset on, there is no way I could suffer the eye-roll from the OH lol. His computer desk is like 4ft from mine so it's bad enough if he happens to glance across at my screen when my chars are having a "love-in" without him hearing the dialogue and sound effects too Although atm he is absolutely glued to WoW, so I shoud be safe from scrutiny for another few weeks at least lol.

I haven't seen many of the flirts but I just get the feeling that the whole system for romances and relationship building has been done in a more mature & realistic way.

You know how we sometimes have dreams about Cullen? Well, last night I had a dream about R2sMuse. I dreamt that she was stealing my clothes from my closet, wearing them, and then hiding them flat under my blankets on my bed. It was a very odd dream. I also dreamt that we were all gathered together in a huge, cavernous room, with a big white screen on one side, and we were all waiting for Cullen, in the flesh, to arrive.

So here's a question for y'all. This thread has been really good with the spoilers, but I think all hell will break loose on Tuesday, the NA release date. There will, however, be some of us still waiting for later release dates. 

 

When do we remove spoiler embargo?

 

A lot of our folks will still be waiting, patiently. 

 

On the other hand, the tidal wave of NA game players will need a place to discuss and this is the 'official' Cullen thread. 

 

Discuss.

As somebody who gets the game on the 18th, spoilers past then don't bother me, but I feel the need to be sensitive to those who will be getting it later. If we keep discussion of the game under spoiler tags until everyone has the game in hand and everyone understands that's the deal, then we should be ok. Does that make sense? 

I just wanted to chime in that that's basically how it is already. There have still been lots of spoiler discussions here inside spoiler tags (at least, I assume so, since I don't click on them! LOL). I don't think we'll be able to maintain that past the 18th, tho. We might be able to, but we won't be the only ones here. Nor should we be. 

 

 

I don't mind, but I do think that everyone would need to have a similar understanding of what people felt was minor or large spoiler to avoid some confusion.

I think R2 probably had the best idea, I think it will be very hard to avoid small spoilers like Varric's nickname for Cullen being used.

 

We could always just do our best until Friday but I still think people like me need to understand the risks of coming here after NA release.

 

Totally get what you're saying! The main thing is that everyone understands how we're handling it right up front. That should be sufficient to avoid any unfortunate surprises! 

Again, I think the bigger concern is folks who aren't our regulars. "We" may know how we're handling it, but not everyone will. Moreover, I don't know that we should be throttled when so many random passerbys won't be. See what I mean? Folks are gonna want to talk. 

 

Anyhoo, that's my concern right now. Where else are NA folk going to discuss? Sending all new folk to a private group instead isn't really feasible or prudent. But encouraging major spoilers to continue under tags is probably doable. Especially if we're vigilant.

So far, I've heard two primary lines of thought:

 

-- We've made it this far using spoiler tags liberally for all spoilers, let's try to make it until Friday.

 

OR

 

-- Given the expected influx of people wanting to start discussing starting Tuesday, who may or may not be our regulars, perhaps we just try our best to limit major story spoilers (which will help all folks who haven't beat the game yet or completed all endings, etc) with spoiler tags. Try to keep major spoilers tagged for, say, first two weeks??

I think the second option sounds more doable, there will be people rightly so wanting to talk about the game. Like you said, the regulars will be more on it with the spoiler tags but the new ones might not be so much.  I probably will try harder to stay away for the 2 days I have to wait to avoid anything major though because it will be difficult to catch everything that slips in.

@R2sMuse, I'll go with the majority vote. I don't get my physical disks until the 25th...if things get to the level that I consider major spoilers, I'll just go dark for a few days.

 

I'd like major spoilers to be in tags though. Screenies, and small stuff aren't a big deal for me, and I've known who the big bad was for ages. I'd appreciate anyone getting to the actual first bedroom scene with Cullen to spoiler tag it though if they post screenies or yotube links...the small flirts are not a problem, but I want to save that moment for my quizzy. Just like I've not posted or discussed the flirt lines from Act 1 that I've seen.

Yea finished the trial yesterday i posted a bigger pic of her on page 3675  and thank you.. it was kind of a pain to use the CC on a console cause im not that use to the controller so i spent about  maybe 2h on it? lol

Ok, so minor excitement, I can't believe I hadn't noticed already, not as if I've been stalking my Origin or anything   My preload start TOMORROW not Tuesday @17.00hrs and is playable from 00.00 on 21st So that's almost a day early right? riiight?      I'll go back to bouncing in my corner, sofa is still over there <------- for those needing a place to bounce too lol.
