I only play RPGs really. Those are the only types of video games I like. And so far this game isn't confusing me. But two things. I'm barely even into it and I rarely use that tactic/strategy stuff. I didn't even touch it in DA:O

Hmm, that's a good suggestion. I'll have to figure something out. Every fight I'm just swearing up a storm as my old strategies for managing the battle just aren't working. Maybe I need to remap the ALT key or something (unless that already does something... hmmm
)
What in the Makers name is a strategy? You mean, I can't just charge about, stumble across some baddies, blap them down, brush off and move on? eek, the word "strategy" has me out in a cold sweat, almost as bad a swear word as "tactics" *shudders* 
Hey guys! There's going to be something put up on the Dragon Age twitter soon. Liz Lehtonen wanted me to ask you all who have twitter accounts to retweet it. It's for a good cause. I'll post it on here once it's up. 
I can't find anywhere that explains the Multiplayer controls.. It is sorta the same but there are differences. If anyone knows I would be grateful
ME3 was the same way, at least on 360. That's the main reason I never got into MP on ME3. I could not figure out how to use my various "powers." And NO instructions ANYWHERE!
*sigh* I don't know if anyone else ordered their game guide through Amazon but I did and they have emailed me to say that there is a delay on the book and they can't yet give me an exact date on when they will be able to send it out to me. So in light of this, anyone that has the info on getting the extra quest for Cullen, could you please PM me the details.
I love the map, even the mini map. Way better than Skyrim maps. I especially like the marker feature.
But... The map is SO CLUTTERED with quest markers. The completionist in me is screaming in rage at all of the shard markers cluttering up the map, it's just overwhelming. Should have used a smaller icon for those.
The problem I have with the map is you can't click on a quest and have the game show you where it is on the map. That's a fundamental feature I need when playing RPGs! Even Skyrim has that.
The controls aren't putting me off, but I guess I must have played more games on WASD than most people just because I don't usually worry about rebinding things too much. The only really annoying one is the stupid pinging V key. That and I tend to shoot instead of loot because I try to loot from too far away.
As for the rest, I managed to do quite a bit in one day:
1.) I saw my first dragon. It flew right over my party, and they yelled at it.
2.) I only flirted with Cullen once, but I've been avoiding Haven where my game crashes all the time.
3.) I established that I can gallop a horse and steer it, and that I probably will be horseback riding in this game.
4.) I managed to avoid shooting any Druffalo, even by mistake, although I still think they should be called Gruffalo. Yes, I have a small child. Why do you ask?
5.) I learned that hunting isn't always as easy as it looks, and that it's funny to watch Cassandra charge something you've just killed with a war cry. Really Cass? I know you feel sort of useless at this ...
6.) Sometimes, the scenery trolls you. Just because those rocks look like stairs doesn't mean they actually are, and you've just spent about 30 minutes proving to yourself that they aren't.

*huff* I'm not giving them anymore of my money, and certainly not because their game is too confusing to play without a dang guide! I'm so annoyed by the fact that I could make a better looking elf with more realistic hair in the DAO CC than in THIS one. I'm contemplating going back into the CC yet again. At this point I am holding on to the possibility that Bull will have to pick me up to kiss me; that would totes make me squee. And make up for the fact that I have a face like a smacked behind and hair resembling fat strips of dried paint.
@ Artemis, you can set a bright blue beacon up to mark an area on the map. You can do one at a time. Have you done that or are you talking about something else in addition to that? I've been using the blue way points to mark where I want to go next.

Yes I do this. But I would like to be able to go to my list of quests (in the journal, I guess?), click on one, and have it show me where on the map the quest is. Telling me I need to deliver a ring back to some lady when I have no idea where she is is pretty annoying.
I actually ordered from Amazon but when they couldn't give an ETA, I decided to cancel and order through GAME (which just shipped it out a couple of hours ago). If you still need the info when mine eventually arrives, I can PM you with it.

Lol, I am in such a grump which is highly unusual for me. I think the whole 24 hours still left to wait until I get the game is starting to grate on my sunny disposition.

LOL No, no, no! Calm down! When I say strategies... I mean... "I used to know what the f*ck I was doing and actually used the ability buttons and such." I don't do Tactics either. I let the AI run all the companions, and I'm sh!te at using choke points and being strategic blahblah. But I used to pause and issue each wave of actions for each companion... and I haven't figured out an easy way to do that yet.

It does seem odd since as you said, they're not meant to take the money out until it's getting ready to dispatch. o__o; Hopefully they won't charge you twice though! Ah, I know how you feel! Surprisingly enough receiving my shipping email earlier today has made me even more impatient. xd

Yeah, and do Amazon include tax in the pricing or is that added on after cos they took out $180 and even with taking into account the cost of shipping and exchange rate, I worked it out to be $129.

Huh. Are you sure they kept the money and didn't just test your card? That does seem highly unusual.

Gah I am going to be running down to the mailbox every 5 minutes tomorrow to check if the game is there yet. >_<
I plan to stand desperately at my living room windows. They give me a good view of the driveway. 
I feel like any scene with Cullen, and well the game in general, will wow me even if I have a general idea of what happens
How long did it take you personally to reach Skyhold?
I'd say anywhere between 6-8 game hours. Maybe a bit more, but that's because I roamed and explored the Hinterlands for a lot longer than was probably necessary. You can really get lost in the game in a good way.
I had the most awesome bug this morning. When I get home I'll share it with y'all. It happened during my requisite, "I'm back! Go check in with Cullen!" moment.
