Cole has the ability to recognize the nature of the people he's around and he gives you some insight into Cullen's character. Especially important is the part where he says that some templars, like Cullen, want to do what's best, followed by a comment saying how good templars remember that mages are still people. I am happy to see that the writers have really paid attention to some of the common reasons people hated Cullen in the past and chose to address each one specifically in a progressive way. Thank you, writers. *_*

 
Bottom line is, Cole is adorable, he has an adorable way of looking at the world and he must be protected at all costs.

I like what Cole says the first time you ask him about templars, he says that Cullen is "softer" than other templars and something about someone saying words that hurt him. The first real hint at his troubled past.

Yes, I agree, Cole is adorable.

Greg Ellis had done a nunber of musicals, and is Rusty on one of the Starlight Express cast recordings.

It really seems like you have to choose again between templars and mages in DAI when reading the comments.. is it DA2 all over again? I wouldn't want to choose between two bads.

Firstly, it's only because you need their aid with the breach, really, not some big political statement.

I allied with the templars and the ones that ended up actually joining me were the decent, "good" ones remaining after the top brass made a fatal mistake in their dealings with me.

Oh, by the way, is anyone else getting that godawful drums track playing in Skyhold?

To be honest, they're both bad... But it's not really their fault. They're both being manipulated by different forces. But you can help one side or the other, and you can either ally with them, or punish them. It's up to you.

And I also get the drum track while at Skyhold.

Hi, I'm new to the thread, and I've noticed something about my playthrough with Cullen, so far. I haven't been able to get any approval or disapproval with him at all. I'm not all that far advanced (I've been playing for about 28 hours and am still at the Haven fort), but I've had a few conversations with Cullen, and still nothing. (I've talked to him about as much as I can, so far.) No matter what I say, he seems completely neutral on everything. I'm pretty sure if you can't gain approval with him, the romance simply will not be possible. Is it too early to get anything out of him, or have I just managed to reply in ways he has no opinion on?

 

Should he have had a reaction to you asking him if he wanted to lock you up for being a mage? When I asked him that, he stumbled over his words and apologized for giving me the wrong idea, but I was shocked I didn't get any disapproval from him for saying that. I'm worried my game is glitched only on Cullen, because I'm getting tons of approval/disapproval from everybody else, so far. Why not him?

 

Please, help if you CAN, Cullen romance experts!

Don't worry,the romance will trigger eventually.Adivisors don't have the same approval system as the followers.The only thing that could end the romance is how you handle it.

Advisors don't give approval or disapproval. So stop worrying! Approval is only from the actual companions.

I think you only get disapproval/approval from the companions (Cassandra really does NOT approve of me!) and not the advisors?

Also, when you mouse over or hover over a choice, it will tell you what that choice means. So you're not going into blind, or missing something, unless you get trigger happy and click on something before reading all of your choices.

Really? I didn't even know that! Do you only have to flirt to advance the romance, then? I'm wondering why the approval/disapproval doesn't apply to the advisors.

Yep, just flirt with them, be respectful of their decisions, and help them when they ask for it.

Oh, there's perks for increasing your inventory by 15 slots each, under Inquisition perks.

I haven't played yet but I'll be siding with the mages to a point then switching to side with the Templars when the option appears I think.

I can't decide if I want a Mage or Archer first time through....they both sound brilliant. Decisions, decisions lol.

Just a quick question, Which side are you guys on?

 

I chose the Templars. I'd planned to side with them anyway, but checking out the mages first and finding out what they were messing with made it really easy to peace out and go seek the Templars.

 

Not sure I can make myself side with the mages on other playthroughs now, even. Maybe as a meta game choice, just to see a certain character who doesn't show up at all in game if you choose the Templar side (incredibly bitter about that, too).
