Hey, quickly jumping in since for the last 3 days I was too busy to do anything else than just play and I still have few days off next week, yay!

 

The game is gorgeous The only problems I am facing now is picking-all-the-sh!t and doing-all-the-quests cause I am obsessive this way. And I am running two pts, one on the pc (female human mage) and on the ps4 (female qunari warrior), hence it will probably take me forever to properly catch up with the thread. Avoiding spoilers like a plague. I love all of the cast so far.

 

Btw, is it only me who sucks with pc controls? Cause I surely had to remap most of my kb buttons, swapped mouse buttons and still find myself shooting things randomly and getting stuck in a battle when I am pressing attack instead of escape

No, not just you - I've been forced to play on Easy and stand back and let the team do my fighting, even after remapping some buttons.  Yet I can still manage to be an effective Assassin in another game, so I am forced to think that the problem is not entirely with my arhtritic hands!

No, I suck on pc controls, too. Click click click click click click... You get the picture. I changed my class from dual wielding daggers to archery because I suck now, it seems like. At least I don't have to chase the target around while constantly clicking, now.

No, the game has clunky console-oriented controls and terrible mouse/keyboard optimization. It's hell for people with disabilities or injuries, my RSI is definitely suffering from so much clicking clicking clicking for every little thing.

 

It's being talked about a lot on Scuttlebut, Mark Darrah adressed it saying they're working on patch. Hopefully they'll fix some of the worst problems soon.

Good to hear I'm not the only one. I am used to the mechanics now but still feel it takes more effort than it should. Thankfully my mouse is awesome so I'm spamming my abilities non stop.

Made my dalish archer last night too. Now I'm torn with which I want to do rn, finish the game with my mage or archer. ;a;

The console version, is also clunky so it's not just the PC controls that are clunky just so you know.

Still, it was more about the guys getting their exclusive "knight in shining armor" option, than Ser Barris specifically.

 

Since I replayed the prologue so many times, I haven't gotten that far in the game. Still obsessively trying to discover everything the Hinterlands has to offer. So, is there a middle ground between the mages and Templars this time, where you have to really go to a lot of trouble to get them to cooperate, or is it DA2 all over again?

For me the choice, is easier to chose between the Templars and Mages, as I side with mages in this war. Because, I see this as genocide if we side with the Templar order in this war. The templars have become corrupted from the order and not just by

It really seems like you have to choose again between templars and mages in DAI when reading the comments.. is it DA2 all over again? I wouldn't want to choose between two bads.

That's what they advocated most of the play through, so I am roleplaying from my characters perspective is all.

Or is it supposed to be like that only for the males? Does Cullen think Im a man?? Then later i asked him about his "templar vows" and flirted with him again, and he got all flustered and said "lets talk about something else." So does Cullen think Im a guy or is he just not flirty at first? :-\

I did not get that one he just smirked at me, but I did this after a few missions.

I'm about to dive into game play, but I thought I'd post what my inquisitor looks like. I'll never be satisfied until we can get some hairstyle mods going because IMO, all of the hairstyles are terrible.

I just finished the game with Cullen as my romance... yep, he's going to be my "fall back" romance like Alistair was in Origins and Fenris was in DA2. It was so sweet and *swoon* You know what they say, you never forget your first It took 3 games but I finally got him in bed!

He acts this way no matter your gender. Flirting with him makes him awkward and uncomfortable at the beginning. Its not something he is used to and so doesn't know how to respond to it. As the romance progresses he gets really flirty

Yeah, I figured his death was my fault, because I did so poorly on that mission. My character was underleved for that boss, my party was not the right one for close quarters combat... but by the end I was too tired to roll back the entire mission and try again to see if I could save Barris just by not sucking so much. Sucks, I really liked the guy and the whole time I was doing that mission I was thinking I'd really like him to lead my Templars. Maybe next time, when I'm not playing in such a high difficulty, I'll be able to save him.

 

Still he can die, and I think you can also execute him in judgement from the mage side, so. Unless they pull an Anders on him, our hopes for macking on Hot Templar in a future game are crushed.

Yeah that super underwhelming. It should have been done in a cutscene, or at least in judgement, after you're made Inquisitor. Killing her like that was so... meh. I barely saw her name tag above her head, too, if I hadn't been turned her way I wouldn't even know I'd just killed a major character.

 

It's just weird. You build this character up through two novels to be the world's number one special snowflake, and then you just... kill her off as a random mook?
