I wonder...if u don't side with any, can u conscript both?

 

If you don't choose a side, you can't progress in the main quest.

You don't so much "side with" either faction, in any case; you save either side from their leader's terrible decisions. And then you can either work with your chosen faction on good terms, or disband them and conscript them into your Inquisition.

Yeah that super underwhelming. It should have been done in a cutscene, or at least in judgement, after you're made Inquisitor. Killing her like that was so... meh. I barely saw her name tag above her head, too, if I hadn't been turned her way I wouldn't even know I'd just killed a major character.
 
It's just weird. You build this character up through two novels to be the world's number one special snowflake, and then you just... kill her off as a random mook?

Ikr? I was convinced it would lead to something afterwards...but I'm guessing not.

I have got to say, Cullen is one of the most adorable LIs in the series. I've fangirled and squealed so much, the things he does is so cute.

I tried romancing Blackwall at first. He's adorable too, so I might have my Inquisitor go for him next playthrough. But Cullen... my GOODNESS. He's a babe.

Guess we know who'll get that infamous jealousy dialogue from Cullen soon, huh.

See, I couldn't side with the Templars after walking around Recliffe and talking to the mages.

There are quite a few who are not happy with the Tevinter thing and the rebellion in general. They just aren't used to thinking on their own and went along with what their leadership did. So, it became clear my problem was Fiona.

 

After that, I couldn't hang them all out to dry. I just couldn't. So I conscripted and hope I get the chance to set them right later on.

He doesn't have to die.  If they get down below 30% on that "hold the hall" motion, he's wounded and then he dies.  Trick is to get it all done without losing too much time.  I was playing on normal and lost Barris.  I will so change that during my next playthrough, sigh.

Yeah, I figured it out later. I'm playing on Hard and went into that mission too underleveled, so I pretty much screwed myself up on that one.

Blackwall is really sweet, I'm going to go for him next playthrough. Then I'll make a male so I can get up on that Dorian. He's a babe too. Honestly, all the advisors and companions in this game are babes. Josephine... hnnnnnnnng.

I really wished she was saved for a better boss fight. I would have liked to see what she would have been like as a venatori. It would be much better if she was saved for a fight later on in the game and/or a judgement scene.
