I don't think Cullen being an NPC is a bad thing under the circumstances. He's a major player in the Inquisition, and he's important enough to be shown in the group gathering. He's not just some random side character.

 

This could even bode well for the romance - it would be more a romance of equals, not leader/subordinate, and Cullen would have his own accomplishments to take pride in, not just those shared with the Inquisitor. It seems pretty healthy for him, especially since we're talking about Cullen, who spent so much time as Meredith's pawn. Maybe it's good for them both that he won't be the Inquisitor's pawn too.

 

As of today, I'm feeling really good about this. Seeing Cullen at the table with everyone else was really what I needed to show me the positives. He was there! And he has an important role to play, even if it's not the role of follower.

Cullen is an NPC. It makes sense. He's leading the Inquisition's military force for the Inquisitor. Hence the concept art, "A New Home".

I bet it will be awesome and that it'll be well worth the wait! And even if it isn't I bet at least one others character romance will blow each one of us away if he's doesn't! I'm just excited about talking to him, learning about him and prioritizing his love and happiness over EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE ELSE.

I'm not worried about NPC romances. In ME, NPCs were...well they were nobodies....and in DAI they are important to the gameplay and plot.

I think my Inquisitor is going to be adorkably protective of Cullen, so maybe it's best for her not to drag him to the battlefield with her all the time.

It seems both fair and realistic that if some characters are exclusively straight, others would be exclusively gay.

Oh if they're going to have set sexualities they're definitely going to have straight, bi, and gay. This is the DA writing team you're talking about!

I just hope Cullen is Bi-I mean it's ok if he isn't, I'm not going to rage or anything but I do reeeeeaaally want to romance him as a guy just BECAUSE! Also I've wanted this romance for a while so if playing as a female is the only way I get to that's fine at least he's a romance lol!

I hope that Tevinter guy is gay and Cass is bi, cause I'd love to romance Tevinter guy with my elf warrior I have planned out as my second character and I'd love to f/f romance Cass and I'm pretty sure many else would like it too ^^
