There was one scene in ME3 that literally had me bawling like a child, sniffling, sobbing and actually crying, hubby was going mad "it's only a freakin game." I was absolutely distraught Fantastic scene, one of my all time favourites but I dread it so much each run through, now it's only a minor tear-up though.

 

Um, that's literally THREE scenes for me in ME3! Not to mention countless "sniffle" scenes (not full blown crying).

Ouch! If looks could kill! I could never do that for serious, only for science and then reload and make it up to him a thousand times, lol. I'd say he and Alistair definitely come joint first in the romance stakes for me, I'd missed those butterflies when watching, didn't get that with DA2.

...yeah so I watched that, and now I'm abandoning Blackwall in the middle of his personal quest to go kiss Cullen. Sorry Blackwall, I'll deal with you later. Must make it up to Cullen for even hypothetically putting him through that.

 

This is like breaking up with Alistair again. I only did that once, to see what would happen, and... ouch. Never again.

My DAO canon screwed me over on every front in this playthrough. In the end I...

(spoilers for Champions of the Just and Here Lies the Abyss)

got no content for my sacrificed Warden, got no mention of her romance with Alistair, didn't and won't get to see Alistair and Anora in game because of my faction choice (will forever be bitter about that), didn't get to see Alistair as a Warden either, didn't even get to see Loghain for my trouble (knew I shouldn't have changed that in my tapestry), and to add insult to injury...

I ended up learning that Morrigan will have that damned demonspawn of hers anyway, ritual or not, so my Warden pretty much sacrificed her life and broke Alistair's heart to pieces in vain. :|

Basically, nothing my Warden did mattered, and it's almost like I skipped DAO entirely. Ironically enough, the only relevant mention of her came from Cullen (and she wasn't even a mage, so it was nice of him to remember her from the one time they met). I'll go and meta game a bunch of choices in my world state import for my next playthrough, but eh. Kinda sucks to have to meta around your actual choices to have any sense of reactivity to the first game.

At least my DA2 world state was super reactive, I had a lot of significant references from pretty much every relevant choice made there. Made me love my Hawke more than ever.

 

I cried so hard during that bloody quest!

When the choice came up I just couldn't bring myself to sacrifice Alistair, even though I adored my Hawke (who totally wasn't behaving in his usual sarcastic tone, which annoyed me). It's a horrible choice, my Dragon Age 2 protagonist that took me years to perfect and was the only one that made me appreciate DA2, or the life partner of my Amell Warden and the guy that made me realise how badly I was being treated IRL by my ex... awful, awful choice. I asked a dev and there's no way you can have both survive. I guess it's my fault for only having one cannon Warden and Hawke... I get very attached to them, lol.

 

So now I have to change my canon. I'd purposely kept Alistair as a Warden because I prefer him that way and he and my Amell stayed together. You should've heard him during the quest gushing on and on about how she's the love of his life and that when she returns from her super important mission to cure the taint they'll be together forever, I figured that was probably foreshadowing for something, lol. Later I received a letter from her telling me to keep Alistair safe because she wouldn't be able to handle losing him. Then of course I had to deal with Varric who was utterly heart broken that I'd let Hawke die. 

 

I'm annoyed because it kinda feels like they really wanna push for the whole King Alistair thing, what with the comics etc and now this. Alas, I couldn't bear to have either Alistair or my Warden die, so I'm gonna have to make my canon Warden a Cousland and marry him, since I'm not keen on the whole mistress and hardening thing.

 

As for the Morrigan thing, I hadn't realised she had the kid regardless. Didn't Gaider say that if you didn't do the Dark Ritual then there's no sprog? Maybe it's a glitch, gawd knows mine was buggy as hell!

 

I dread to think what they'll do to us in DA4, if it gets made. I'd be heart broken if they separated Cullen and my Inquisitor... I'd also be heart broken if they separated Alistair and my Warden.

That's heart breaking too. I just love how utterly devoted the pair of them are to the Warden and Inquisitor, gets me every time!

Just so you're aware, on the day the game launched, the DAKeep glitched and the worldstates didn't transfer properly. On twitter it said to check the time on the WorldState you were importing to ensure it was the correct one from the keep.

 

Sounds like you didn't get WS that transfered properly because she only has the baby without the OG soul if she is in a romance with the warden and they sleep together before refusing the DR. She gets pregnant regardless but one is a normal kid while the other is the OGB.

Just saw what happens if you tell Cullen to start taking Lyrium again, he's so sad that he remains chained to it. Poor, poor baby. I'm so glad I got him to kick the habit, I couldn't stand to let him suffer like that even if it physically hurts to come off the stuff.

He wasn't supposed to take any personal belongings with him when he joined the Order but he snuck it in for sentimental reasons. It's very sweet... he really is perfect!
