Depends on what exactly you want to do. My Quizzie is... not the nicest person in the world, let's say, and I don't get a lot of disapproval. All the companions still like her (maybe not Solas, but Solas can go sulk in a corner). You just gotta toe that fine line between being the pragmatic leader making the hard choices no one else will, and becoming full-out Assquisitor, being a dick just because they can.

Yeah, my Inquisitor is probably the same. She gets on well with Sera, Varric, really well with Vivienne, Iron Bull and Cassandra, not at all well with Solas, and Blackwall is just off in his corner of Skyhold, ignored. Cole and Dorian weren't recruited.

Does Varric always say he, when he says he might have an idea who might could help? Because my Hawkes are female :weird:

Solas disapproval is really fun. Especially as an elf.

I'm still deciding on that, it's just with my female mage - everyone likes her, and she's recruited everyone + gotten all their quests... and well she's just overall nice. So I'm kind of wanting to just be more free on this new one. I wanted him to be more of an 'assassin' sort of character, and yeah - he's a rogue, so more ruthless. Straight to the point and not very compassionate. Also not a very big religious believer.

agreed

I`m in!

We should do something special to thank Brianne for writing Cullen in such a special way, especially his romance. It's like she was lurking in the thread the whole time, figuring out how to make us happy.

Count me in the effort. I have to thank Cullen's writer properly <3

I'm level 15 influence, haven't touched a main story quest since getting to Skyhold. I got to Skyhold at about Hour 20, now I am at Hour 64.

I played for 24 hours and I took Bull one hours ago :P: . Now I've got Seven companions.
I'm still going to explore a bit the hinterlands and the Storm coast before hitting the main quest.

I think my influence is really low. Is it mainly boring side quests that bump that up, because I was neglecting those? I took a few Keeps though. Those were fun.

Yup, side quests help a lot in building influence.
One reason I'm focusing on side quests rights now is to quickly unlock all the knowledge perks.

I don't think I have any knowledge perks actually. Mainly forces and some connections.

One things i really liked in the dialogues so far is that Bioware offered a lot of options to Define your background. Josephine had a whole dialogue about your background, with Cass You can define what do You think is your real home, and Vivienne (for Human mages anyway), You can define one Enchanter as Your mentor (or not). I really appreciate this :).

My influence is well over 60, but since I am prone to crashing, I have spent most of my time clearing out The Hinterlands, Crestwood, Storm Coast and I just finished Fallow Mire. I have yet to go to the ball in Val Royeaux. I am currently working through Caer Oswin for Cass.

I also wanted to be around level 13 before doing to ball.

I get along well with Solas. Just ask him questions like you're interested. It's not hard. He's basically Elf Spock and likes you if you act like you prize knowledge in his subject. He took my Quizzie into the Fade. I might make an elf mage Quizzie just to see what romancing Elf Spock is like.

The background conversations with Cassandra, Josephine and Dorian are really interesting if you're a non-mage human. You're all nobility, and you can share a lot in common if you answer that you don't miss home a lot. I feel like, short of Cullen, those three are the people who best understand my Inquisitor's feelings and motivations, since they all come from a simliar background of noble families and their little high society games.

The conversation with Cullen about being a noble was really cute, too. I wonder what face he would make when he realized that if he marries Lady Trevelyan, he'll be raised into nobility too. Poor thing.

Yes, I posted in passing (busy evening). I got the two mixed up. :)

60 power. My influence is over 7 now. I'm still early in the game although I've spent around 55 hours at it.

It is a very well written romance. While I was aiming to start with a different character in my first play through, this one captured my attention. Excellent story!
The dancing scene and me swooning about it made my husband jealous enough to actually take me out for a dance ;)

I enjoyed that he remained in character in situations where one would expect perfection from people and made 'mistakes' that gave him a very alife feel. (you - me - pretty lake?)

I am so going too headcanon my main human mage calling Solas her advisor, even though he's not one in a sense as I see their realationship, akin to Captian Kirk's and Spock's friendship in the Star Trek series. And, I have also gotten the feeling he cares a lot for my mage, from the way he speaks to me even though I am a dang Shem.lol

I need to go back and load it up to see the rejections, just to see his face. Then I'll be nice to him again.

So, if you acquire these schematics, do they carry over from playthrough to playthrough?

I'm really impressed by Solas,I knew I'd like him...Just not that much! The same applies for the IB who almost won a permanent place in my party.Dorian,I got him earlier because I sided with the mages and he got along pretty well with my inquisitor, aside from snarking her for a certain decision.

As for Cullen I have no words!Love him to pieces so far, extremely well written!

I get along well with Solas. Just ask him questions like you're interested. It's not hard.

On the contrary, it's very easy to get approval from Solas. Every single question I ask him gives a little approval.

But it's practically impossible to stay in good terms with him when you're roleplaying a pious Andrastian. She can't tell him she finds magic fascinating or that spirits are nice and friendly just to make Solas happy and farm his approval, my character doesn't believe that. So for every 10 slight approvals I get from asking him regular questions, I then get a massive disapproval in turn for saying that spirits are not people, magic is dangerous, blood magic is evil, etc. My character respects him and his knowledge a great deal, they're just never gonna be besties, because they'll never agree on the beliefs they both hold most dear.

It doesn't bother me. At some other point I'll roleplay some other character who's gonna get along with Solas. He doesn't much like this particular Inquisitor I'm playing right now, but oh well, that's the person she is, he can take her or leave her. Who knows, maybe on the character who does get along with him I'll catch someone else's ire. All in its good time.

Did Cullen get a new voice actor in this game?  I finally got the game to run consistently without crashing and got up to the short scene where he appears, and he sounded really different from how I remember him, a lot deeper.

Nah, he's always been voiced by Greg Ellis. Though in some scenes he does sound deeper. Usually that's his serious voice.

Heh, my character is a fairly fathful Andrastian, too, but she takes the tack that the things in the Fade are fine ... in the Fade, but just because something is in the Fade doesn't make it less aware or sentient ... or any less likely to have its own set or priorities or desires which can be inimical to human/elf/dwarf ones. Usually, knowledge is power, so she learns in an attempt to understand better and have more informed opinion ... after all, the spirit that chose her looked like Andraste, but what if it wasn't?

That's why she's running around telling people that she's chosen. She is. But that she's not holy. She may not be, and she doesn't intend to act holy. And she tells people that her mission is to stop Corypheus because as far as she's concerned any mandate she has stops with that.

So, as far as she's concerned, Solas is a gold mine of information that can help her understand what's going on just like Dorian is the best source for matters on Tevinter.
