I am torturing myself so much when it comes to Cullen. XD My dwarfquisitor is treating him badly, and my next playthrough I have a handsome male elf planned who will romance Dorian and flirt with Cullen just to make him uncomfortable. Only after that will I finally get to the Cullen romance. It so hard to not click all the romance spoilers! And I haven't completely succeeded. ._.

Does much happen to Cullen if not romanced and generally treated badly? Aside from his romance arc and that early quest there didn't seem to be much going on with him... unless I was glitching out on that too.

I will totally adore Solas romance arc, as I am a sucker for nerd romance I mean hello he is a genius in his field of study. I will probably not try the blackwall romance, I got enough of that type of thing with Fenris just not the way he does his arc but in a differrent way. And Fenris never lied about who he was to Hawke, he even admits that he's a runaway slave unlike Blackwall who lied about being a grey warden.

I've had the lyrium plot, where I told him to start taking it again so I don't think I'll be seeing any more of it, but that's the only thing that's happened outside his involvement in the main story missions so far. I'm not finished with the game though so I don't know if there'll be more later. He's very businesslike in his demeanor, I don't know if that changes.

It seems as though Cullen and Solas were extremely popular romances for the FemInquisitor. I'm just going off of forum comments, but really glad they decided to add these two to the roster. I am not sure who I would have romanced otherwise.

Advisors don't have any approval tracking, so it probably doesn't make much difference if you treat them well or not? Quizzie was extremely rude to Leliana all the way through the Abyss quest, then ended up sympathizing with her and started treating her better, and I didn't notice any difference in how Leli acts or treats the Inquisitor either way.

There's no approval system for the advisors. They just keep doing advisor things no matter how mean you are to them.

Even for being later additions, Cullen's depth really surprised me. Brianne knocked it out of the park. Alas, my Lugh will forever pine after that gorgeous man.

So, I think (Cullen's romance arc aside, which comes joint first with Alistair's) out of Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age 2, and Dragon Age: Inquisition as it stands at the moment Origins is still my favourite of the three.

 

... Maybe that'll change when I do decide to play it again without all the glitches and stuff.

I just wish there had been more friendship content with him, beyond his romance arc and the first few talks he didn't really say an awful lot or have any thoughts on my actions in the quests I'd done.

It would at least work on those Cullenites from the Orlesian ball!

But hey, whatever it takes to build up my army. If I have to parade my charming boyfriend around to get a few hopeful lads and lasses to take up arms in the name of the Inquisition (even if they're only joining to ogle the Commander), that's certainly a chance worth taking.

Gotta ask, did your Skyhold's begin to upgrade themselves over time? The only change I saw was Solas gradually painting his room, everything else stayed the same, including Cullen's hole in the roof LOL! I done the stuff you're supposed to do like upgrading the garden 'n' things like that, but I thought the companions were supposed to do stuff to their living spaces and the Skyhold itself have more areas open up to you.

Unfortunately I never saw anyone really making their space their own besides Solas and Sera (though really, it's just that she is the only one who seems to have an actual bedroom? lol)

What's the general consensus about the other romances? 

I've heard really good things about Bull and Dorian's romance arcs, both of which I have watched. Very well done, though I must say with Bull's relationship specifically, FPJ knocked it out of the park and Patrick wrote him some really good lines.
