My problem isn't with giving him a chance to redeem himself. He wasn't under orders, btw, he accepted a bribe. My real issue is that children were involved. Any inquisitor of mine who was attracted to his ideals would also find it virtually impossible to continue a relationship with him after finding out the truth; they could never look at him without seeing that toy griffin (talk about symbolism in game, though.)

 

I may just not be seeing some of the cutscenes, but I wasn't finding him that interesting as a romance even before I found out. The kisses in her quarters, sure. The lack of consistency in his character makes sense now, but for me he feels like a different person in every scene.

Yeah, I can see why it would be a deal-breaker to some people, but it doesn't really get to me like that. I've forgiven Sten, who also killed little children for a senseless reason, I've forgiven Fenris who willingly or not betrayed the only people who ever showed him compassion, I've forgiven Loghain, who in my eyes did something morally much worst than any of that, I've given Nate a chance to redeem his family even though his father murdered mine...  and I also love Duncan, who was a really shady person before he was conscripted (and after too, I guess). It'd be hypocritical of me to hold Blackwall's past against him alone when I've given everyone else a chance for absolution, specially since he does deeply regret everything he's done and has been trying to atone for his sins for years, however misguided his whole notion of it may have been.

 

I love redemption stories in any case, so Blackwall's history being so disgraced and him trying so hard to make up for it by helping and defending those who can't defend themselves makes him all the more appealing to me. I love him for the same reasons I love Cullen - his life, his choices and his deeds have never been very pretty, but he's still trying to make something honourable of himself.

Yeah, I definitely don't want my Cullen virgin, but some people do, so it's neat that we can all just headcanon whatever we want.

In my playthrough Cullen mentioned my Amell, I can't recall the exact words but he did mention an 'infatuation' and how he had been cruel to her after being tortured and wished he could take the words back, just hoping she was okay now. Something along those lines.

On the one hand, I don't want my Hawke or Alistair to die in the Fade, but on the other hand I can't stand the possibility of my Warden never seeing Alistair again. If you keep Alistair as a Warden he disappears (likely to join her) so even if they don't manage to cure it at least they're together and can go into their calling together. I guess for now I'll have to change it to Alistair being a King and just hope that they find a cure or reunite.

Though I would have with Nate in a heartbeat because it wasn't his crime, and probably with Duncan because I'm not that bothered by theft in this kind of game world. I even adore Zevran, because he's absolutely honest about who he is and why, and seems to have an odd sense of morals about who he will kill. Sten and Fenris committed their crimes under mental strain/temporary insanity. Loghain never lived in any of my PTs (I wasn't willing to risk it with him, his crimes were too bad and his strong influence too risky.)

Think I found the right place to ask: is here someone playing male-quisitor and flirting with Cullen? And if so, does it resolve somehow? (because you can and I did not see a difference in reaction)

 

I mean in case of Dorian you can flirt with him as a woman but at some point he explains his real interest and also - why was he flirting back. Does Cullen do the same for a man?

I will just put in my Hawke, whom is supposed to be dead already as she was turned Traquill by Templars and Fenris rip their hearts out for their crime. In a sense, she is dead, so is willing to stay in the fade to be herself again.

That was the second ship. She rebelled against Castillon in DA2 partly out of guilt for the first time she was involved in slave traffic a few years earlier - they'd been ambushed, and she drowned all the elves they were carrying to relieve weight on their ship so they could outrun their pursuers. That's part of how she became so defensive of all kinds of oppression, because she used to be a pretty terrible person herself, and came to realize it on her own when she crossed that line.

Well, the good news is my daughter's partner is finally starting to feel better from the bug that hit her late last week. The bad news is they've decided they don't want to risk me catching it (cause I'm old and they worry ) so no computer upgrades this weekend. The question is, how many PTs will someone be able to complete before I get to fire up the CC?
