So, I've been getting all the fun of the game (even if completely piecemeal) by watching spoilers with none of the frustrations?

Pretty much. You've been getting our spoilers only after we've beaten the bloody game into submission lol.

That really is a shame. And the cutscene leading up to it was so epic. I had to laugh though when Cullen walked away from me every time I tried to approach him after the battle. It was like I was herding him and his men. XD

Never did get to see him with his helmet on though. Where's that supposed to happen?

I'm thinking you really just had a very unfortunate experience, or a still very broken alpha version, because I'm playing on PC too and have none of those bugs you described. Companions are all advancing normally, I've got most personal quests except for the one companion who doesn't like me, banter is working fine, Skyhold is upgrading itself... sorry you had such a hard time with the game, but it does look like you got a particularly raw deal with your review copy, the game isn't nearly that broken in the release version. :\

Did you turn the "hide helmets" thing on? If you did then that's why lol. But yeah, it was a disappointment. See, that's the problem I have with the game it often fell short at key moments.

It's the PC version, so I guess it comes as no surprise, lol.

Even still. It's a major irritation and disappointnent for PC players. I've had a few bugs, but nothing so game breaking. I'm really surprised this game got out the door with so many bugs.

If it wasn't for Cullen finally being romanceable and absolutely adorable I reckon Solas would've been my canon. However, my Inquisitor's heart belongs solely to Cullen, lol.

Definitely try the disk version, my game is pretty glitchy but not all the problems you're having LolaLei.

 

As it is I'm debating on whether to continue my second playthrough, not having banter activate makes the game very lifeless for me.

Strange, there really shouldn't be any difference in your review copy and what the rest of us get at release. They will have been made from the same master build. Then again everyone seems to having different issues with the game and running into bugs that are triggered in multiple different ways. Does make me wonder how much of the game some of us are missing due to general buginess. Wouldn't want to be part of QA and bug fixing right now at BW.

Endgame spoilers

Who gets elected as Divine is largely influenced by choices made in the game I believe. If you make choices that lean more towards freedom for mages and promoting equality for other races you get leliana. If you conscript mages or side with templars it sways the divine choice in favour of Cass or Viv since you're essentially sticking to the old ways of the Chantry.

I hope siding with the Templars would rule Leliana out by itself, but I've heard of people who sided with them and still got her as Divine. Maybe they dissolved the Order instead of rebuilding it?

Still not sure how to specifically get Cass instead of Vivi as Divine, though. I can appreciate the delicious irony of putting a mage in the throne, but tbh I don't care half as much about the fate of mages as I do about reforming the Templars and Seekers and cutting their ties with lyrium, and since that's Cassandra's angle, she's the one for me.

Maker, I can already see myself save scumming and replaying the ending a hundred times over until I get the Divine I want.

Yeah, the plot is so hard to follow with that bug messing it up. It's such a shame too because with all her huge, huge, huge flaws, Clarel seemed like a really cool character. But I couldn't experience that coolness the way it was meant to be experienced because Stroud.

I had to keep my mouth shut to avoid spoiling my daughter on that scene for most of the week; she finally saw it yesterday .

I think it's probably the funniest moment in the whole game. And Cullen's smirk, once he got past the initial embarrassment is priceless. Though Josephine's fascination is just as good.

Oh this is exactly what I needed to know, thank you. I know I need to support Cass in reforming the Seekers in her personal quest and I got that Noble perk early enough (because my Quizzie is a snotty noble so I wanted those special snotty dialogue options ), so now I'll just keep an eye out for that mission like a vulture circling prey around that war table. Yay metagaming like a boss. >>

Can they? That's... a little disappointing. I thought the noble conversation was unique to non-mage Trevelyans, as counterpart to mage Trev's unique mage conversations. Bah, we muggles never get anything special. :\
