I think when you are romancing him he says that she was an Infatuation of his youth, but she was a lovely woman and he appreciated what she did for the circle but when you aren't in a relationship with him his gives the warden more praise and calls her compelling.

Does him gushing over the Warden (a second time?) only happen if he breaks up with you/you break up with him?

 

And yeah. I really like his Lyrium storyline. It gives him that much more depth and truly explains everything.

 

And it boggles my mind because so many people's head cannons/fanfics on Tumblr turned out to be true. I can't tell you how many fanfics I've read with Cullen going through Lyrum withdrawl/dealing with dementia.

 

And his whole holding back because he was still dealing with all those personal demons too.

 

The romance storyline is really good, but because there is so much content in the game you can go 10-20 hours between new romance cut-scenes which sucks. After a big excursion out I always come back to get the cute little kiss scene at least.

Watching all his lyrium scenes together with all the outcomes, it really gives you a bigger picture of how much he wants to distance himself, not only from the Order, but also his past. You can see just how hard he's trying to battle his demons, doubly so when you're romancing him because it's not just the Inquisition that he's scared of letting down.

Even with the sex scene when he has his nightmare, you can see him physically relax when he realises that she's there with him and he's not alone anymore. When he says "sorry for worrying you", I chose the option where she replies with something like "you can let me worry a little", you can see from his facial expression alone that he's genuinely touched that someone actually cares enough to share the burden.

Gah, it's just such tender romance arc! It's so nice to finally see something going right for him at last!

I'd be curious to see if he still has the nightmare whilst on lyrium, and where he says he'll go at the end of the game if he dumped you, because he mentioned in tthe vid hat he's bound to the Inquisition until he's no longer needed.

I wrote something a while back about Cullen talking to the quizzy about the warden and though mine was slightly more long winded in dialogue it was the exact same thing that was in the game. I'm fine with how he speaks of the warden. She saved him, she deserves his recognition. What I was saying though was that if he isn't in a romance with the quizzy then he gushes about the warden a lot more than if he is in a relationship with the quizzy.

I've done the main Orlais story. I have so many areas and side quests left but I find myself itching to finish the story. This play through - my decisions, import state and Cullen romance will always be my ideal. I think I'll do a few play throughs with different world states and choices, slowly over time, then come back and do a 100% completion is with this one.
I always end up replaying multiple times and often struggle to play them any differently. I feel like there are so many choices in DAI that aren't good vs evil so it will be easier to do.

I just finished last night. It was amazing. I enjoyed the game, and the Cullen romance immensely. I was going to save him for my second playthrough, and started with Solas, but I ended up with Cullen anyway. I've started a second play-through, and I think he's going to have the Alistair effect on me.

 

They've really taken the romances a notch up, I feel like I got way more romance scenes than I expected.

Then again, the reason he mentioned it is that it may be the 'only' time he felt 'love' or 'infatuation' as he'd like to call it. So our Quizzie is a lucky lady, ha, our dear Commander doesn't fall into 'infatuation' that easily

Can you still do quests in remote areas, like the Hinterlands or the Storm Coast? I left a bunch behind that I didn't complete, or even get.

 

Do you still get War Table missions?

No more companion/advisor related missions after the main quests. And yes, you can still do quests in other areas. Some war table mission would disappear after game. Plus, there is no more dialog wheels post-game.

That Cullen's from a noble family after all, even if he doesn't have a title himself. Then again, you don't get much more out of him than the number of siblings he has, one sister's name, that they moved to South Reach (which was part of why I thought he wasn't a noble after all, nobles don't move away from their lands except for marriage maybe), that his brother gave him something for luck, and his siblings were very loud and good at finding him. Not a word about his parents.
