I know someone mentioned the gossiping Orlesians and just happened to run by some in Skyhold right now when they were talking about my current toon's relationship with Cullen. went something like this:

 

"Who would have expected that pair?"

"Well it's expect. The command. The noble names. It's a classic story."

"Shh. Ears are listening."

 

It's a very rough paraphrase and I wouldn't have caught it if I didn't have subtitles on at the time.

 

I'm assuming they mean us - it could be in regards to something else but when i saw it i thought of other post speaking of gossiping orlesians. Anyone else get this background gossip?

 

Got this conversation as well, just after our first kiss. 

Before the sex scene, I've heard one more conversation, where they discussed if Cullen and Quizzie already had "intersected" or something, and if they were in engagement, sadly I don't remember the exact wording. Those naughty Orlesians sure like to rush things

I remember hearing that dialogue as well. I assumed it was about Cullen and Quizzy, but it confuses me since he does say he has no title outside the Inquisition.

That Cullen's from a noble family after all, even if he doesn't have a title himself. Then again, you don't get much more out of him than the number of siblings he has, one sister's name, that they moved to South Reach (which was part of why I thought he wasn't a noble after all, nobles don't move away from their lands except for marriage maybe), that his brother gave him something for luck, and his siblings were very loud and good at finding him. Not a word about his parents.

Yeah, plot wise I've only gotten the chess scene and the first kiss since i spend so much time doing.....everything else.  I thought if i did the red templar quest i would maybe get a new heart dialogue and when i ran up skyhold the first time, i triggered the first conversation. 

 

Met Cullen, no new dialogue.  So just snuck a kiss, rand back down and out the door (past those two) and triggered another script where I'm not pretty sure they are referencing the romance. 

 

"Has there been an exchange?"

"You're awful!"

"Not that. Gifts. Or perhaps betrothals."

"Of Sorts. Very Romantic."

"Vicariously satisfying."

 

Ran by and was like  ? oooookay, I guess they are probably talking about me? but that's not really how it is/was?

 

I don't think by noble names they mean that both Cullen and the inquisitor are nobles, but more along the lines of "they have cool names" to kind of translate it.

Has anyone gotten the war table banter where Cullen says "if you squint, lake Calenhad kind of looks like a bunny"?   Josie is all business and Leliana gets excited at the idea. Also find kind of endearing that he says "bunny" instead of hare/rabbit.

about the romance rumors, i expected more ;p i expected my companions to pick on me for banging inquisition's commander xD but no one mentions that during our travels, NO ONE! ;A; (seems like i got a subject for my new comics)

but i got another banter when i romanced cullen, at the war table leliana said

The Inquisitor being a mage adds some sweetness to the romance, but it's not necessary to be one.

Ah good to know. I'm enjoying his romance a lot. I'm going to try it again as a mage~

 

It's funny to see the old Cullen from the mage tower pops up now and then. It's cute! I just got a line while in the war table about Leliana teasing him for being impatient for my Inquisitor to arrive. It was cute and funny.

Looking at the banter amount I had far more and often in DA2 (they didn't want to shut up),

but it is probably a game bug, I hope they patch it soon because I want to start new game.

 

Question: some time ago somebody said how much time they take to record dialogues for Cullen romance, as far as I remember (3x8h)?

I don't know a lot about such a process, but what we have in the game that's all what did they record?

 

Not dating sim, and Gaider angry that people are attaching too great to romances in BW games? They are one of aspects which is making their games special, unique, from game of this scale I expected more.

After my 2 romance scenes with Solas, I flirted with Cullen (my quizzy is a big flirt)  and he asked if I would not prefer Solas' company. I flirted with him again and he told me he heard I'm involved with someone! I did not know it was possible to dump my baldie!

 

(ofc I can't do it but is interesting to know you can get Cullen even after 60% of your Solas romance)

i think the same (: i just love all the work and effort his writer has put into making him an interesting, and changing-through-the-game character. he's like everything the cullenites were expecting of him, personality and character development-wise. and he still has some of his old self inside of him, this old self we all loved ;u;

Hey everyone! I'm on spoiler hiatus since I haven't finished (completionist first run, wanting best odds of everything perfect without spoilers), but currently home for Thanksgiving, away from my console, and twitchy from withdrawal. I'm sure these have all been discussed but since I'm scared to click random spoiler tags I was wondering, for those of you who've finished: (ANYONE READING IN EMAIL PLEASE STOP HERE, tagged spoilers follow)

I didn't ****** him off with that one but I'm curious if I'm in the clear or not. He could still die or something for all I know but I'm just curious about breakups specifically.

2. Is there any travel banter

about the relationship? Mine is a bit bugged all around (one of the PS4 people who's getting some but not nearly as much as you're supposed to). In Skyhold I've had funny comments from Sera and Dorian, a very sweet comment from Cole, the one War Table thing, an ******* comment from the bartender, and I've heard of a funnyish comment from Cole, but no travel banter comments so far. I wondered if that was it or not.

3. For those of you who have romanced someone else:

A. Was the Josie thing just Aidan yanking our chain? B. I saw something hinting at his dialog being intriguingly different about the fem Mage HoF!?!? Is there a video of this comment anywhere??? <3<3 EDIT: nevermind 3B, just saw it. Not quite as possible as I'd hoped but pending hearing about 3A hopefully there's still room for my pre-DAI head canon in my playthroughs for the other 4 male LIs.

Thought I'd pop in and say as someone whose never been a fan of Cullen. He really surprised me with how interesting he is. I just started romancing him in my second playthrough and his first romance scene made me do something like this.

Wow, just coming up for air I'm hooked on this game, I knew I would be like this lol

Me 12.30am: "I'll just do this wee bit then log off.........oh, best do this bit now then log off.......ahhh, I was waiting on this bit, I'll do it then log off...................I'll just pop round the companions, then log off.......................Oh, crafting, I'll go see what I can make then log off..." 2hrs later, eyeballs hanging out their sockets, hair like a burst couch and me literally falling into bed

I love it all although I still have little to no clue what I'm actually doing lol. I keep getting lost in Skyhold, damned place is like a maze, I want to mount my horse and gallop along the ramparts lol.

I'm officially locked in with my Commander and it's glorious! he is such a sweetie

Cass is my bestie, she is brilliant! She's like a caramel, hard on the outside but a softie underneath.

The only companion I'm struggling with approval with is Cole, bless him I think I'm being too soft with him, he doesn't seem to like you trying to excuse his previous actions.

 

I'm actually getting a fair amount of party banter firing, it's understandable given the size of some of the maps that it might seem as though there isn't as much but I don't feel it lacking too much.

Only graphic bug I've noticed so far was an obviously possessed shield fighting by itself with no owner around the area where Cullen stood at Haven lol

I'm all out of kilter with the timing though, I'm level 12 and only just got my specialization quest lol *shrug*

 

Ah well, off to run the hoover around and wash-up the dishes, then I'm going back in! Take it easy guys, laters

There's definitely a huge bug on banter, the devs said that it's something they're currently fixing so presumably that'll be sorted out in the fix patch they release. For me, some companions will chat amongst themselves fairly regularly and others will say nothing at all, depending on who I've taken out with me.

 

It's weird, while there's clearly far more romantic content/recognition in DAI than there was DA2, and despite the claims that there's just as much in DAI as there was in DA:O, it still feels like there was more in the first game... maybe that's because you could literally chat to your companions and trigger cutscenes literally anywhere? Or because all conversations happened close up, rather than in a semi-ambient way? Either way, I definitely feel that a game of DAI's size could've done with more companion/romantic interaction because it felt a bit jarring that things only progressed after completing the main quests, especially with the romances that only start to kick in properly when you arrive at Skyhold and end after the Temple quest (which was 9 times out of 10 just a cutscene), and the exception of the occasional personal quest thrown in at random that had maybe 1 or 2 throw away lines of dialogue recognising the relationship. 

 

If you stick to mainly the main quests it doesn't feel quite so bad, but after spending 20+ hours running around the Hinterlands or where ever to come back and have no new dialogue or flirts open up with any of the companions or romances feels kinda lonely, lol.

I loved Krem, but he was so glitchy for me towards the end, the decision for my Elidri to stay in character was just all too easy. Maybe if he stopped standing on chairs or faced the right way in conversations, it would have been more difficult.
