Thanx  guys for all the best wishes... now lets hope i can actually pull this off.... Im not trying to get anyone's hopes up until I actually see it in game but for now .. just decrypting some of the files is a HUGE step for me... lets hope it will lead further then that.. the only problem im thinking of now is that *IF* i do manage to get those in game i will need a software to compile them to the exact file extension (.CAS) in order for it to work... so im gonna do some extensive research on that  to see if i can find something to do so....

 

Oh dear, I guess I shouldn't wait for them for my next playthrough.    I was seriously considering it since they are so lovely.

Arela is there a mod group for DAI ? Or a thread ?

 

I have Warranty Voider now on Skype (he did me3explorer, the mod tool for Mass Effect 3 that people used to make MEHEM and other mesh swapping mods) and he is helping me get some insight on DAI modding, 

 

He just found some stuff in 1 minute (guy is amazing)

 

 

 

Anyhow, if you give me a link to the mod thread or group here on BSN I can post back what he managed to tell me

This is something Voider can do easily because he did just that for ME3. You need to add any new file to cas.cat.. and he just started doing a toc reader

 

 

cat contains blockoffsets in cas
toc contains file structure

well lets start with a toc reader, shouldnt be more like 5 mins^^

And another "trap"  that we found on ME3 is that there was an encrypted checksum of DLC files (Bioware obviously didn't want anyone messing with those) so we could only mod the base game. I hope this is the same for DAI and there is no security behind the CAS files, because then swapping bytes isn't gonna work, as the checksum will be different

I tired to modify some of the CAS files and leave them "decopiled" as in not make it into CAS files again and when i tried to put them to work with the game it crashed for me.. and then the game would give me a error .. so i suspect i will have to find a way to make them into a .CAS file again in order for it to work .. I also tried to  change the bites in hex editor.. (well for that i use cheat engine to do the HEX)  it workd well with other stuff like if you want more health and more power or whatever... but it doesn't seem to work with what i want to do.. witch is  getting new content into the game as in new hair meshes ... that is a bit tricky... GAH i hate frostbite... i also tried to see if i can find some of the hair meshes  form the vanilla game so i can "override them" with the new ones i have.. and then put the same valius  of the  hair mesh orientation/position/ rigging onto the new one so it will show off ingame....

Nope... not yet.....   ...

this engine is giving me a headache...  im doing some research on how to do more things ....

 

i found this as being somewhat useful as well http://forum.cheaten...asc&start=300..still trying to dig deeper and see what else i can find and what other kind of  programs/software i can use  to make my sht work..

GUYS GUYS GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was messing with some of the files  from DAI   and

I managed to decrypt some of the .CAS files witch contain the "heavy stuff" like the meshes and such... you will see on the right side there is a bunch of numbers.. and those are compiled in chunks... now i gotta figure out witch one of those is the hair styles ....

 

If this works ( and please PLEASE GOD  let this work) i did 3 hairstyles samples to see if i can get them in... there are not long hairs because i can only rig them to the head bone (since i don't have the actual character mesh  to do longer hairstyles on it) I made a few samples please guys WISH ME LUCK!!!!!!!!!!! IM GONNA NEED IT

60 hours in and finally got the Wicked Grace scene. I think it's one of the best in the game. And I adore that you can talk to Cullen about it afterward. Too funny! Glad I didn't spoil myself with watching it online, though I was sorely tempted. I don't want the game to end, so I'm spending lots of time wandering around all the areas & collecting shards. Too. Many. Shards.
