Honestly, it didn't seem a big deal at all for me, just another mob to kill.  But then again, I wasn't romancing Cullen at the time.  I guess you'll have to decide which is more important, how your character feels about mages or whether you really want to do that quest.

 

It actually does sound like the more interesting of the two, but maybe I'll just stick with what I have now in the interest of RP.

That was an issue I had with the main quest, too. The Fade wound had no gravitas, no weight behind it. It was shiny, it was useful, it wasn't killing you or doing any harm... there was literally no drawback to being burned by ultimate power of ultimate gods. It was just... a shiny hand.

 

This is probably product of too much speculation and hyping, but I was really expecting something like, every time the Inquisitor closed a rifts she'd have to sacrifice some of herself, either her health or a memory or a piece of her soul... I don't know, anything to make the rifts a serious threat, to make the Inquisitor's journey actually dramatic and full of difficulty choices. It seems like such a missed opportunity for a tragic hero, struggling with responsibility and duty and personal sacrifice. Alas.

 

Just the thought of Cullen dealing with all that pressure of potentially losing the Inquisitor to the greater good kills me. How desperate the poor thing was in that prayer scene, "I must send you to him." So much potential!

When I first started playing and the hand wound causes us to drop to the floor in agony, followed by Cassandra telling us it was spreading and killing us my first thoughts were "no way! This is awesome!!!" I was really looking forward to that being an issue for us throughout the game, and like you, I thought every time we closed a rift it would at least cause us a great deal of pain if nothing else.

 

That prayer scene was wonderful, and I thought for sure the final goodbye before we left for our final battle was going to be utterly heartbreaking (especially when I was still under the impression that we could actually die if not prepared), then the scene happens really suddenly where we have to leave immediately to stop Corypheus and Cullen doesn't say a word. I get that there were no final goodbyes but he was in the bloody scene with us! If you were romancing him or Josie you would have thought at least one extra piece of dialogue would have been thrown in recognising the romance, if nothing else. Then when you come down from the rubble after battle Cullen/Josie isn't there, and YOU have to go back to the Skyrim and walk up to them, and wait for them to bow before you even get a scene where Cullen hugs you.

 

So anticlimactic. No idea if it's the same deal with the companion romances.

It sounds like it's lacking for everyone then, not just the advisors. That's something at least.

 

I'll give them that, it does look that the Advisors had the same amount of content as the companions... it's just that all of it was lacking lol.

I guess  alot of stuff got cut out from the game when it got delayed... remember when DG said that if a game gets delayed it wont be because they would add more stuff it would be because they would cut quite a bit of it... also there were several scenes in trailers that i never got to see in game... and other things..regarding the CC

I'm waiting for people to go file diving to see what's in there that was never used. Some of it could be in there waiting to be unlocked as DLC or anything! Greg Ellis spoke of recording "raunchy" dialogue but I heard/saw nothing raunchy in Cullen's romance scenes, I wanna know if there's unused audio from it, or if there's a likelihood that the "raunchiness" is going to be used for future content.

I'm hoping that more big quests will be added to the main story arc before they do any post-game expansions. If they do the former then it could go some way to explaining why the game feels a bit jarring with it's pacing.

Did you use mostly diplomatic lines (#1) with him? I used mostly sarcastic lines (#2) and while he didn't say anything outrageous like Bull's lines, he was pretty... naughty about stuff. Like, yeah, I'm gonna use a polite euphemism but we're totally talking about sex now.

 

Nope, I used mostly sarcastic. While he did use polite insinuations and suggestions, it's definitely not something that can be described as raunchy. Besides, this is Greg Ellis we're talking about, he's a filthy git, so when he describes something as raunchy you know it's gonna be something more than what we saw from Cullen in-game.

The problem I have with mid-game quests is that it doesn't change anything about the story and the stuff that gets add is most of the time irrelevant, since it was added later.

Well, that would depend if it was always supposed to be in-game, but hidden behind a paywall to be used as DLC (this is EA, afterall).

So I think I'm gonna go with my elf supremacy playthrough now. Gonna try to romance Solas, but likely will fall prey to Cullen's smile again. Hopeless. Possibly the only way I'll ever resist romancing him is playing a gated race/gender.

still keeps his lovely romance references if the Warden made the ultimate sacrifice? I know he says some very cute stuff about her if she's alive, but not sure he still refers to her the same if she's dead.

Would hate to get halfway through the game only to be foiled by my worlds state again, I'd rather scum this choice at the Keep if needed be.

I just finished the game and, since I'm not a fan of drama, I'm glad I chose to romance Cullen during my first playthrough.

No problems with a mage inquisitor, I even sided with the mages, treated them as allies and still everything rolled smoothly.

... You haven't heard the Johnson rap, have you! Then there's his Twitter... trust me, when he says it's raunchy it means more than just stuttered euphemisms and a sultry tone. 

 

I doubt we'll get anymore romantic content though, so I guess it's a moot point anyway.

Really? I haven't even heard anything mildly suggestive in the ones I've seen (which surprised me because of GE's remarks). I mean, once Cullen makes up his mind to something, he doesn't hesitate, but he doesn't say anything, or very little, at that point.

 

Has anyone seen these versions online because now I want to know

I haven't finished the game yet but I did get the last of Cullen's romance scenes (I think). Just wondering, do we really still not get Cullen last name of have I completely missed it (which is entirely possible)?
