I've read every one of your posts on the topic and I'm out of likes, but I just have to say that I was like "Hell yeah!" and "Go girl!" after reading every one.  

 

It's shameful how female gamers are still considered second-class citizens, and of course it is so insidious and prevalent and normalized that everyone defends it and makes excuses for it.

 

That's it, I've said my piece, and I won't bring it up again.  At least Cullen looks good enough for the two of us in these scenes.  

While I sympathize, please also don't assume all female gamers want the same things? Or that all male gamers want the same things either, for that matter. Confining people to one view of what they want is just that, confining.

 

I think it was a major gaff to make the big event a ball if they weren't willing to take into account the expectations that would create for many gamers. It would have been better to have some other sort of event. I also think it's silly that they bothered creating a feminine run/walk animation when it doesn't matter - running around in combat, but use the masculine ones in cut scenes when the feminine animations would make the most sense (and would have been best if they'd made both sets available to both genders). I suspect most of our complaints for what they didn't do (like the hair styles) can be laid at the feet of them trying to adapt FB to things it wasn't originally designed for and they had to cut out things they'd planned. Though frankly, I'm not sure I want them to try to design new hair themselves, that seems to be an area their art department is really clueless about.

Some time ago, when the romance tag mania was starting, we took a vote in the thread and decided they were too cheesy and Cullen doesn't need one. But something like Tame The Lion was one of the most popular among those who liked the tags, I think.

So, in my head, kind of as a joke and kind of not, before DAI came out, I already gave Cullen the nickname Cully-Wully. Because I know he'd hate it then Sera goes and calls him that and I'm all "Gurrrl, nuh-uh!"

Essentially this, although I'll admit that I was far less diplomatic the first time we discussed it.

 

The closest I'll come is Climb the Ladder. I loathe the lion themes (and I do a happy dance that the lion helmet is no more!).
