When he was first announced to be in DA:I my thoughts were "Oh hey, that guy. Yeah ok, might be interesting to see what they do with him."

As they showed more about him they became "Huh, seems pretty cool, shoulders are a bit puffy though. I wonder if they are going to address his issues... I like his helmet."

And after DA:I came out they were suddenly "Oh my dear goodness. Can we have sex now? Can I just touch you? Rarg I hate how much I want to kiss and/or punch your stupid face."

I'm not even sure what happened... I think I blacked out at some point and when I woke up I was suddenly a Cullen lover....

Yeah,Cullen has that effect on people.

I think you need to have enough shards to open that door. And the miner keeps walking around. She was never on her quest marker.

no the shard doors are different. This is the key to the cave where her wedding ring was.

Cheers guys, I'll keep looking!  I appear to have missed one of those devices for spotting shards too, cos i collected all the shards I had marked, only to find i don't have enough to open all the doors!   Argh!

There are many people who started off DAI, for many reasons, firmly in the "dislike him" category, some have stayed there unfortunately but there are loads more who gave him a chance to show his stuff and don't regret it one bit. He is sooooo worth it both as friend and lover

Meh! not going into game just yet, hubbys power pack due for delivery and it would be typical that I'll be in the middle of a fight or something and the door will go so I'm floating about like a fart in a trance If it's the normal postman, he just brings parcels indoors for me, says "Hi, parcel" and goes but I'm not sure if it's a courier delivery and they would knock. The courier that brought my power pack the other day was as crabbit as you get, delivery arrived at 8.10pm and he was grumbling about being out making deliveries at that time of night, poor guy and he still had more drop offs after mine, I have sympathy but there is no need to snash my face off Ser!

That´s basically what happened to me, went from not being interested in him as a LI but still thinking he had potential as a character to suddenly being a Cullen lover

The only problem is now that we've finally got Cullen there isn't much to speculate about his character anymore... it's kinda all laid out for you to discover in-game, lol. Pity there's not more content with him in to be able to theorise his motivations 'n' stuff.

i had to hit x to make it move forward, and it would obviously skip content because the lines never had any logical path to them. Then hitting X stopped working, and I was just stuck on a close-up of someone's face. Gah.

For anyone gaming on PC - have you updated your graphics drivers? I know NVIDIA released a new one specifically for DA:I the day the game came out. I honestly haven't had a single cut-scene glitch out on me yet. Nor have I seen any of this crazy stuff you guys keep getting...I almost feel left out! lol.

Well, I admit my first crafted weapon was Nug Basher, and I suspect most of the rest will involve similar themes (have I mentioned how much the nug's squeek in DAO grated on my nerves?) But since you're naming the right dagger Perseverance, how about something related to renewal or rebirth for the left which fits his story as well?

It's his tone that killed me. I imagine that Cullen is very very uncomfortable around Cole. I got that conversation when entering Cullen's tower, he was talking to a Soldier that got a note and the soldier didn't remember how the note comes to her hand. In my game it was not Leliana who said it herself.

I'm hoping this will be the case for me once my daughter tinkers with my machine over the weekend. My younger daughter's computer hasn't been having most problems and mine's actually got better specs for the most part. I'd buy myself a new graphics card for XMas, but my daughter would accuse me of getting her to visit just so she can do computer work

After defeating that Imshael demon & Michel asked to join the Inquisition, he kneels to the Inquisitor!!! Knowing his personality from TME, it was really... wow. I wonder whether he'll be around at Skyhold since I gave him to Cullen as Officer (Cullen asked on wartable to get him as officer. Guess that it's better than asking him to work with Solas as Leliana suggest...).

 

And does anyone think to Mobydick at the quest "Call me Imshael"? I directly remembered the first line of Mobydick when I saw that, not TME...

I remember Cullen mentionned tell Leliana something to the soldier at the end of the conversation, or the note was forwarded by Leliana or was on the back on Leliana's report copy for Cullen or something like that. It was such a minor conversation between Cullen& his soldiers when the Inquisitor enter Cullen's office.

Its quite ridiculous the effect this character has right?? I've not finished my 1st playthrough yet

but I've just finished the ball and that last scene where he asks your quizzie to dance, it shouldn't have made me feel as warm n fuzzy as it did but there I was grinning away lol. Think I'm in love

I only had one playthrough of DA2 where Bethany went to the Circle, and IIRC, Cullen was the Templar who took her, right? Does Hawke make any mention of that? I assume s/he knows that Cullen is one of your advisors. I'd be very interested in know what she thinks of that.

I think the great thing about this thread and ones before shows the extraordinary power of a fanbase. I rarely play a mage so my only encounters with him were when he was trapped in the Tower. He was just kind of background for me. Then I realized he had his own following and had to do a mage origin just to see what all the fuss was. I doubt he would have been in Kirkwall without the fan support or ever a full-fledged LI. Granted, I think some of it is Bioware saying, "Well, we can do more with this character," but a lot of it is simply the fans saying it first. It's pretty cool.

Yeah. By that point, I think the main story has progressed too far for it to trigger. I'm in the same boat.

I didn't kill my first dragon until that point either (I'm running around wrapping a lot of stuff up before I do What Pride Has Wrought).  He was in my party and I was at level 18.  I'd wrapped up all of Iron Bull's personal quests and cut scenes (not in a romance though; not sure if that affects anything) and his tarot card had already changed.  I'm not sure if any of that affects the dragon conversation but when I talked to him after it was triggered.

 

I think I might have already done the associated war table mission that pops up after you kill your first dragon, but I wouldn't think that should be tied to triggering the conversation.
