I confess that's kind of annoying. I'd slap Varric for that! More like Mr. Trevelyan
That's definitely a choice that should be left to the PC ![]()

Well, dark brown I might have understood, but medium brown (and not at all a shade that looks good with that PC) is much more of a change than I expected, I would never have given her the "perma-sunset" hair color (fortunately that wasn't a PC I expected to play for more than 3 or 4 hours). Unfortunately, it sounds as if we will have to play through the entire prologue to find out what the hair color will look like most of the time
.
Just wanted to put a realism spin on it for ya...depending on the angle and brightness of the sun, my hair can look pretty darn brown/red. But if I'm inside or outside when it's cloudy (as with the prologue), it's that chromatic raven's wing black.
I personally love how the lighting changes the hair color. You can see in those screenies how even the PC's skin tone changes in the warmer light. If the hair stayed the same color all the time I think it would throw immersion out the window, at least for me.

I'm beginning to think this is an urban legend...
As am I, truth be told. I've heard about it here on the boards, but as far as seeing it in game (though I really wouldn't know for certain considering I actually haven't even finished lmao) I haven't seen anything regarding it.
And you'd think that if it were in the game itself that it'd be on youtube by this point, but I haven't been able to track it down there either...

Does Cullen get togther with someone else if not romanced with the inquisitor? Because I am thinking thT one of girls might have to regret not taking her chance with him. Because she scared that no man would take a chance with her because of her being a mage in fan fiction I have going. Yeah the angst
I think you just see him say

I have finished Cullen's romance once, and I'm currently just before the final mission on my 2nd PT. I've talked to Varric fully both times and I haven't seen it. I wouldn't say it's glitch on my end either as I haven't had a single convo glitch.

I do as well. I have yet to hear someone say they saw it first hand -- not here, tumblr or twitter. It's only hearsay so far.

I agree, and I suspect the source of it is a tumblr post from a few days after release where someone says, hypothetically, that it's something Varric would say (which I disagree with but whatever). I can see someone skimming through notes and misinterpreting/misremembering that comment as "this is a thing Varric says".

Oh, I appreciate you pointing that out, and I know it changes for some people, though my dad's black hair always looked black no matter the lighting (until it went white). But if that lighting in Haven is going to be what we get through most of the game (and in the Hinterlands her hair was still that odd medium brown which is one of the last colors I'd ever personally pick), well, that's what should have been used in the CC. I want a hair color that's going to be reasonably consistent, not a guessing game (if I pick red, will it be brown or blonde when I get to Haven?). I wasn't wild about the skin tone change either, the lighting lightened her way more than I expected. If the difference between the CC and Haven's lighting showed up immediately upon exiting the CC, it would be relatively simple to work out how to get a hair color, etc. you can live with. But I'm beginning to understand why some people have had to go back a dozen times after the prologue to try again.

Still haven't finished my first playthrough with a female human mage, but I've been itching to create my female elf archer, so I spent a couple hours this morning creating her
unfortunately, even though I thought I was screenshotting every slider, my keyboard was apparently not working, so none of it saved, and I couldn't even rename her
the plan is to romance Solas with her, but Cullen is just so tempting D:

This made my mind go rabbit hole-ish.
It might be a Ferelden thing, but I was always under the impression that if my Cousland married down (like, say, married Ser Gilmore
) that she would still share in the benefits of a noble rank. Yes, it's better to marry up, but I'm not sure. As for the Free Marches, would it matter? If you're a noble in the Marches and you marry Cullen, I'd think you'd have enough leeway to retain your status and for Cullen to adopt your title, given the city-state aspect of the Free Marches.

While driving home from work tonight "Sie sieht mich nicht" (She doesn't see me/original french title "Elle ne me voit pas") from Xavier Naidoo from one of the Asterix-movies was playing on the radio and it suddenly had me thinking about Cullen early in game thinking about a mage Trevelyan (who is constantly flirting with Dorian
(or one just has to ignore the later part of the song)). Xavier’s change of pitch during the song, alternating between softer tones and a more commanding voice during some parts didn’t help make me not think of Cullen.
So, under the Spoiler tag are the lyrics and my comments/thoughts on why it’s so fitting. Spoilers also for some parts for the romance.
Anyone wanting to hear what I'm talking about (especially the voice thing, seeing as this is the German version of the song), here is the Song on youtube. It has stuck in my head for the past hour and will likely stick there again now for a very long time ...

My Trev is also a mage (although she still has dialogue options relating to the Trevelyans as if she still has claim?) so that might complicate things. This made my mind go rabbit hole-ish.

Since Dairen in DAO will comment on speculations that a female Cousland might be named heir over Fergus, I can't see why marriage would effect your inherited rank in Ferelden. Obviously a Teyrna is probably not going to be able to marry a peer or higher ranking noble most of the time since there are only two teyrns in the entire country, and only the crown is higher rank. From the lore, Highever has had a number of ruling teyrnas.

True. I still haven't finished my first playthrough so I'm not sure how being a mage will affect land holdings or titles. I have seen the Trevelyan dialogue about being a noble though, and assumed that she just meant that since she was technically an apostate, the rules didn't apply anymore and she had reclaimed her noble status. At least that was my head canon for that.

I always kind of thought that Dairren was just sucking up to your PC actually. Especially considering his line about, "blah blah I'm just going as a glorified squire" line. I mean, yes, you're left to run the castle, but that's really just household management. Bryce is letting Fergus lead the troops to Ostagar, and that's much more significant as far as protecting your lands go.

It could be that becoming Inquisitor allows you to reclaim your lands/title? I suppose technically Inquisitor is a more powerful position by the time the game ends than House Trevelyan anyway.True. So wait, do you straight up have it working in game now? Whether or not you do, it's awesome that you're doing this! Do you think you'll do any for Qunari?

We dont have it working in game just yet, but Voider and Ehamloptiran have come up with some tools to extract the models from the game and actually do some mods on them, BUT we are now waiting for a tool form Ehamloptiran that will allow us to put all these assets that we are making in game
As for the Qunari so far i came up with 1 hair style... its a bit tricky (for me) because of the horns... so im not sure how to go about it....
