I could never give Fenris back to Denarius, and I never could watch that bit. There are just things I can't bring myself to see ... like Jacob's romance scene from ME2. You know how it is - once you see something, you can't "unsee" it.

No, no thank you. I think you stated it better than I did (In my half conscious mind lol). Yeah when I made that post, I was attempting to not target anyone but I guess the way I wrote it was in a strange manner? Words are escaping me right now with having pulled 3 all-nighters. xD

It would be nice for our girl to not be the one doing all the chasing but I don't know if that would work for Cullen per-say due to his respect(?) for rank. I guess it could be considered a situation where it would be deemed inappropriate to act in such a casual manner with you commanding officer and being the "Herald on Andraste" can be considered rather intimidating. I could imagine that with all his "hang ups" he may have thought he wasn't good enough for a relationship in this point in time unless you steer him towards it. It is quite sad really, that he can have so little confidence when it comes to love. So little experience. Cullen seems to be a lot more weary of becoming close to someone, whereas, I don't think Alistair was. That is how I look at it, anyway.

 

I think he started to develop strong feelings for her quite early on but would have put it all aside until she survives Haven. That first conversation with him at Skyhold out in the grounds is our first glimpse of that. He is far more protective and resolute in his duty than he is if you haven't taken the flirt options thus far. Maybe thinking that she was dead and then finding her near the camp was what finally stirred all those feelings up and brought them right up to the surface. There is no ignoring them for him from that point on.

 

 

 

I think a couple of people, like Sephirona, also described him as an introvert, which also fits well.

I do wish there was some way to trigger the romance subtly that led to him making the first move, though, not just so we could choose to play a shy character but also one who is either naturally reserved or, well, clueless. The first flirts at Skyhold (much more subtle than the ones at Haven) do allow for that to an extent. Of course, someone who wants to be fairly confident and aggressive in pursuing him might be bothered by those a bit for exactly that reason.

 

 

Yeah you both make excellent points that I agree with given my thoughts about his introversion. From personal experience and seeing my friends who are more introverted by nature, it can be pretty hard to deal with relationships outside of what you'd have in the workplace or as friends precisely because we prize our privacy and quiet time. It's a constant battle between wanting to be close to someone but being afraid that they might take offense to you wanting to be left alone to recharge at times, or being afraid of letting them see the version of you that exists when you let your guard down because you're afraid they might not like it. Introverts don't hate people at all, of course - we just like the freedom to deal with people on our own terms. It's the disconnection between the professional life and the private time we have to ourselves that we're sometimes unsure about. It's easy to know how to deal with people based on workplace expectations when you don't need to care too much about emotionally supporting them, and it's a whole different ballgame when your future depends on whether you both can emotionally connect and understand what the other needs. Emotions and private time are very personal, a luxury Cullen wants but hasn't always been allowed to have throughout his life.

 

Meanwhile, as a more extroverted person Alistair probably finds it easier to joke around and let people see what makes him Alistair. It's also why the strictly regimented life of a Templar never suited him and why he hated it. He jokingly and eagerly tells you about experiences in his life that were painful for him. That's just his way of dealing with it, and we love him in a different way for it. Of course, I'm not an extrovert so I can't claim to know how he might deal with things. That's just how I've interpreted it.

 

As an introverted person myself I was bothered that I had to do the flirting to initiate the romance with Cullen actually, LOL. I was happy Alistair came to poke me about it because it swept the uncertainty and fear of rejection away. In canon I suppose we'd both be basically destined to never knowing what the other truly felt about us. Ouch.

I haven't gotten that far yet but I have seen plenty of people summing up the ending as being somewhat lackluster. I hope this is, in-part, due to the fact that there will be a continuation of the game within DLC content? Though I don't know if that will be enough to make it right.

I heard that Morrigan has a child no matter what, but she didn't in my game. She shouldn't have too because I had an US Warden world state, so are those rumors just people who had botched loads?

Morrigan bugged out in my game the in the first scene when she takes you through the Eluvian: my import was of a female Warden who did the Ultimate Sacrifice, with an Orlesian Warden who stabbed Morrigan in Witch Hunt; suddenly Morrigan was talking about having a son and going through the mirror with the love of her life. That's when I brought it up here in the thread.

 

Later, continuing through the game, the kid never showed up and Morrigan never mentioned him again, and later on she referenced my Warden as a fool (implication was, for not taking the ritual). So everything was back to normal? It turns out the demonspawn does not exist in my save after all, it was just the Eluvian scene that decided to glitch out on me.

 

Disregard that notion that the kid will exist anyway, he doesn't. Just more dialogue glitches based on buggy imports.

But what is wrong with being bathed in blood if it means you will be safe?  Yeah, I never could romance Anders after hearing that line. Fenris' mage hate was much more preferable. 
 

 
LOL! So if I have done those first two things as well..............................? It was all for the sake of science. I would never keep those choices in my games! At least being called a monster is better than being called an abomination.

Yeah, I could never bring myself to turn Fenris over to Danaruis even on my ****** Hawke that I would leave in the Fade. Yes I romanced Anders whom ever wrote that line should be shot. I mean seriously that line was a what the **** moment for me in the game. I just headcanon Justice though that was a enduring line.... The real Anders would know better since he was a huge flirt in DA:A with better pick up lines than that **** line.

Oh, no worries! I wasn't offended by what you'd said, I apologize if it appeared that way. I was just stating my personal experiences because it was related to what Shadow had mentioned about her personal take on virginity. I didn't mean to take sides, though in hindsight I guess that's what it looked like. I'm sorry! You're totally free to interpret characters the way you're most comfortable doing so, I don't mean to encroach upon that right :>

Yay!  It sounds like that speech that he mentioned yesterday, during the twitch stream for NYU gamecenter, where he mentions he did his Iron Bull voice, (half cartoon character, half winston churchill) he mentioned replacing certain words of Churchill's speech to fit Thedas, he specifically mentioned Fereldan yesterday!

Lol, I was thinking that. The no hair on his abdomen and chest didn't bother me but it was the hairless legs, arms and armpits that looked off. He is still really smexy with out it all though. 

 

Actually, I think the thing that makes his body being hairless stand out more is the stubble. If he didn't have that it probably wouldn't look so odd.
