I had a query and thought the Cullnites could answer it.  Someone said something about Cullen being like Alistair but more mature because he isn't a 20-year-old virgin.  So I was wondering, do you guys headcanon he is a virgin or isn't?  And if he isn't, when do you imagine he would've gotten that in (pun not intended)?  I need to know for scientific purposes.

I think my headcanon for him has him coming from a pretty dark place. I guessed that there was some sexual abuse/loss of virginity mixed in with the various kinds of torture he experienced at the Circle. I also imagined that his lyrium addiction had a very very strong hold on him, strong enough that he would do just about anything to get it and certain people would play on that. His sexual experiences have been limited and have not been nice and so now that he's around my Inquisitor, he just doesn't know how to react.

He's strong but he's also broken in so many ways, but so is she- so they're just kind of filling in those pieces of one another and helping each other face their pasts. He might be skittish for physical affection at first, but he also longs for it- just that love and genuine caring. She provides that for him and helps him heal with every smile, kiss, and hug so by the time they actually do have their "night" together, it is pretty much like he is losing it to her.

So he is and isn't a virgin. Yeah. That makes sense.

Yeah, this was my line of thinking. It was just curiosity more than anything. It doesn't really matter in the long run. But I was thinking, he's sooo awkward and afraid in Origins, and he even says he was in no state of mind to get that close to anyone in 2. But he doesn't seem all that inexperienced

Spoiler
So I was just curious. Sorry if anyone thought I was judging him one way or the other. :/

Did my post come off a tad blunt or antagonizing? If so I apologize, lol! I just am kind of all over the place today since I am playing DA:I right now and posting here...I'm a little distracted. There are just too many factors to take into consideration to really garnish an answer to that question. Besides it is much more fun to use your own imagination to when it comes to really anything.

Does anyone know when DA:I will be in the Keep?

I will say that when a guy knows what he wants and decides to commit, lack of experience doesn't really always make a difference in how he goes about it when push comes to shove.

Just because he seems really confident in how he finally commits doesn't mean he's been there much if he's been there at all. It just means he's letting nature take its course.

I believe Cole comments on how Cullen feels about "intimacy" at the ball. The people there were all over him and I think Cole said he felt fear or something along those lines...idk I have yet to hear those lines myself. I have only seen this info on this forum.

No no! Sorry, I was quoting you because I agreed with you. A couple people I think mistook my meaning, but I was just quoting you because you understood what I meant... I'll just retreat back into the shadows now... Lol

Yeah, I've seen mention of that as well. I know I wanted there to be some way for my Inquisitor to just step in and get them to back off, but knowing those handsy people, they would have been right back at it as soon as my back was turned.

Ya my IQ was a Knight Enchanter already so she could had just snapped out her spirit blade...but then that may had made the rest of the night a tad awkward. I do know I would have my IQ deliberately run into those people, I think I actually lost five court approval doing that.

The worst thing about the ball scene is that knowing courtiers ... some of them are likely acutely aware of how uncomfortable he is, and they're simply amusing themselves by torturing him although I'm sure a few of them are as oblivious as Yvette, too.

So can some of you guys tell me what bugs you have experienced in DA:I? The worst ones are preferred.

I think for me the worst bug is the lack of banter. I feel like I barely know my followers as a result. Every now and then a banter will spring out and it's just brilliant, and suddenly they seem like real people. Wish it would happen more often than every 4-5 hours

I also have the "no Dorian quest" bug and occasionally when I enter a new area my inquisitor will be hovering in midair with his legs crossed, Lotus-style. I'm always disappointed he doesn't have his hands pressed together in prayer position, too

To be hoest I think they just made him too perfect. He's shy and adorable when been flirted but confident and know what he's doing after you gave him permission. Usually these qualities don't exist at the same time. So to avoid explaining why he's both inexperienced and experienced, they just let you draw conclusions yourself. But that's just my opinion and to be honest? I'm really not complaining. :-P

The worst bug for me is the DX CTD, but then I also have all kinds of random floating scenery and occasionally the NPCs will drift into the rockwork too.

@ Penguin, not really. He was actually pretty close to my husband who was the perpetual nice guy and friendzoned all his life until we got set up together ... twice.

I was about to say just about the same thing. Many years ago, I was someone's first, and I'd never have guessed if he hadn't told me. And "experience" doesn't necessarily mean someone really has any idea what they're doing, depending on the quality of the experience. Guys who just want to score are usually pretty useless, frankly.

Hmm I am lucky to not have that banter bug. I have banter about every 15 mins or so...and I agree having the banter really makes you know your followers and enjoy their company.

What this "No Dorian quest" bug? OH I LOVE THAT BUG! It make me IQ look like he or she is doing the moonwalk or some crappy version of it. Here is a video that may help your imagination.

I also have the "no Dorian quest" bug

Maybe this will help with Dorian's as well?

I've thought about that too, but I'm not quite sure. On the one hand he did say that it's been a long time since he wanted anyone in his life, and he doesn't seem like someone who likes to have sex with no strings attached, although that could really just be wishful thinking on my part. On the other side though... He might seem a little shy or clumsy, but not entirely inexperienced, so I really don't know. It doesn't really matter either way, but I do think it would be kind of cute. I clearly have a type (re: Alistair).

I agree with you both. Introverted folk are generally comfortable within their own thoughts and I feel like given Cullen's continued bashfulness in the beginning of Inquisition it seems like he's just always been very comfortable imagining and knowing what he wants but hasn't found a person he'd feel enough of a connection with to go through with it. But he's absolutely read just as many smutty books as Cassandra has in secret and knows what to do and how to do it. He just doesn't want to admit it (look at how hard it was for Cassandra to, LOL). He probably has a VERY colorful imagination in that regard if what he knows of intimacy is from reading smut, in fact, which could explain how he ended up being so daring with your Quizzy once he knew she'd be okay with it.  But yeah, I prefer to headcanon him as a virgin by circumstance as I've discussed a few pages back because his approach to life is very similar to that of myself and other introverts I know irl.

I don't think his lack of sexual experience would make his romance less mature like Alistair's was, either. It's just as mature for someone to feel comfortable having multiple partners as it is for someone to prefer having a connection with their partner before the act. Just a personal preference. Alistair's romance was immature on the basis of his innocent attitude towards life as a whole - Cullen has seen the worst the world can offer. But that's a different kind of maturity we're talking about there.

Anyways, unrelated, but for some reason I've been getting a 404 error when trying to come to this thread over the past few hours and I must say I was going through some serious withdrawal. I have missed you all greatly. :U sigh

Is it wrong that my first reaction is "Does he have a brother?"

Never mind...I'll just...go back to lurking mode.

Lol, thanks for the offer but I am going to have to decline...sadly. I have the guide as well, but I refuse to "cheat" and look up how to solve the insane ones. *sighs* So yes I am apparently inflicting this torture upon myself.

I head canon he is but only because I think he had given all of himself to being a templar, he just didn't have time for anything else and I don't think of him having a mad moment of sneaking out of the circle for a bit of a rumble in the brothel. I think it has to mean something to him.

No, no... this happens when you jump and talk to someone at the same time  It has happened to me, too :D

But what I'm talking about is my inquisitor is sitting in Lotus position. At least his legs are in that position. He is also hovering off the ground. Basically his torso and above are in the proper position, but his legs are folded

Mine would have be that earsplitting screech that happens randomly...I have no idea what causes it. Then at the end of DA:I I went to talk to Varric and he would not respond...as in he would just turn his head and then...nothing. The most annoying bug for me though is when the game fully freezes and forces one to shut down their system. That happened to me at least six times and every time it would do it whenever it was autosaving so it glitched up my files and set me back two hours.

The one I hate most though not sure if you can call it a bug or just a technical issue but the game very often stops responding to my mouse commands and occasionally now my keyboard commands, clicking r for attack and my character just stands there doing nothing, I have to right click my mouse to get anything to do something and companions not showing up when I want to talk to them, I have to reload to get them to appear. Plus Dorian's quest not triggering, I'm near the end of the game and his is the only one I can't do :(
