Oh, I'll have to try this with him I'm trying to rush through the end of the game but I don't mind trying to trigger his quest one final time.

 

Tbh I've not been too impressed with the companion quests. They last about 5 minutes and are pretty blah... nothing compared to, say, Fenris' three act quest that involves encountering an old nemesis and then later a former master, complete with meaningful flirt lines that forward the romance.

I really liked his character until the big reveal and then the little ass was well an ass to my IQ even though I went through the diplomatic route of saving him. Plus it happened so late in the game I felt as if there really were no chances for himself to regain my trust...and he didn't.

Sadly, the guide doesn't have what I really want like WHO THE HELL SHOULD I CHOOSE FOR WAR TABLE MISSION!

Well, for one thing, I was not at all surprised since people in this thread have been going "Oh, Blackwall, that jerk, what a liar; he betrayed me, blah blah blah" so I knew it was coming lol

 

But come on, the quest took about five minutes and was resolved by clicking a card on the war table. Wooooow. Such dramz. So emotion. Not. Talk to Blackwall afterward and have about a one minute conversation, where I give him some positive encouragement and he seems to buck up a bit, aaaaand we're done.

I had a query and thought the Cullnites could answer it.  Someone said something about Cullen being like Alistair but more mature because he isn't a 20-year-old virgin.  So I was wondering, do you guys headcanon he is a virgin or isn't?  And if he isn't, when do you imagine he would've gotten that in (pun not intended)?  I need to know for scientific purposes.

 

Heh, always "for science." I'd be shocked if any of the writers said that he was a virgin. We got very brief glimpses of his life, and skipped about six years of it, when he was in Kirkwall, so who knows what happened during that time. Not to mention that Hawke and Cullen didn't exactly have the kind of relationship where they talked about their respective love lives. He tells you that he never took any vows of chastity, and jokes about Bull and the Inquisitor having a bit of fun. Just because someone is quiet and introverted doesn't mean they've never had a loving, sexual relationship. Basically, if you follow F***YeahCullen on tumblr, everything she says about his virginity is what I believe.

I got over being disappointed in what he turned out to be, but I just can't warm to him much as a romance even before the big reveal for some reason. He's an interesting character, and I think the game needed someone like that, but to me, that sort of "redeem the bad boy" kind of romance has a limited niche appeal, like IB's BDSM.

But what I'm talking about is my inquisitor is sitting in Lotus position. At least his legs are in that position. He is also hovering off the ground. Basically his torso and above are in the proper position, but his legs are folded

I killed the Levellan clan...or they died by me choosing the wrong Advisor. As for the GWs I picked Cullen for most of their missions and they stay alive up to the final mission then you find out they are no longer able to be used...as in dead.

Oh, I hated him. So when he was like, "I hate you" to my Quizzy, I wanted to roast him. To me, he was a pretty terrible character.

So can some of you guys tell me what bugs you have experienced in DA:I? The worst ones are preferred.

 

Mine would have be that earsplitting screech that happens randomly...I have no idea what causes it. Then at the end of DA:I I went to talk to Varric and he would not respond...as in he would just turn his head and then...nothing. The most annoying bug for me though is when the game fully freezes and forces one to shut down their system. That happened to me at least six times and every time it would do it whenever it was autosaving so it glitched up my files and set me back two hours.

 

- I was getting the DirectX error and had to fiddle with settings.

- I was trying to create a new character, and every time I tried it crashed in the cutscene with Leliana and Cassandra, apparently because I had too many saves. Or something. I dunno. I deleted the junk saves and a new character worked fine.

- I've also not been able to get Dorian's quest, but I also didn't know to look for Mother Giselle so it might have bypassed me.

- I get companions missing from Skyhold all the time

- Sometimes I click on a companion and I see their lips moving, but there's no sound and no dialogue wheel

- Sometimes the war table will act up and I can't click anything, and just have to escape and leave and come back

 

And that's all I can think of right now.

Oh yeah, I totally agree. I think the issue is that Cullen clearly stated he had not been looking for a relationship during his stay at Kirkwall due to his trauma. At this point in his timeline the only real opportunity he might have done it was during the time before he was assigned to Kinloch Hold, from what I can see. We don't know what occurred in DAII between his interactions with Hawke, to be sure, but we know that if anything did happen, it was not in the context of a loving relationship, and it's hard to imagine him using his body or another woman's body for the sole purpose of release judging by how careful and gentle he's been. He was harsh towards mages in DAII but like he said, even Meredith knew he'd only go so far. That, plus the fact that he actually says the sex workers at the brothel thought he'd shut them down for serving his recruits...more evidence points towards him being reserved about sex than otherwise, at least in my interpretation.

My biggest problems with his romance is that you find out he lied to you about major things and you get very little chance to talk about it, much less in a romance context, and that after he chastises you for ruining the Inquisition's reputation to get him out of jail, he gets up in the middle of the throne room with everyone looking and pleads you to continue the romance, making it look like you spared him to keep him in your bed. To me, the very kind of Inquisitor that would fall in love with Blackwall's early behavior would have the most trouble dealing with that.

I actually find him boring at first, especially when he told me that I shouldn't like him because he's not an ideal match and so, I hate it when they give such speech *coughAnderscough. And I agree with Varric that he's just too...good. All the speech about how he join warden because he want to help people make me very suspicious *squint. Maybe because I'm a cynical person I don't know...but I actually like him a lot better after the whole thing. Because now I know where he's coming from and the fact he exposed himself voluntarily make me think he's even more trustworthy before. I don't mind he was a bit of a jerk to my quizzie because he really believe he deserves to pay for his crime and angry that you won't give him the chance."
It might be because I never intended to romance him. Mmmm. I'll just stay with Cullen-Wullem in all my female quizzie PT.

I haven't even gotten to the romance bit (and I'm sure I never will), but he bores me to tears. He has perpetual sadface and that voice is just so boring and he told that damn story about the dog and I wanted to throttle him. I really don't know if I'll even bother to recruit him on my next playthrough. Or he can just stay in the stables with the griffon thing. He's just really boring.

Blackwall left me cold too.  I thought he was a jerk to be honest before the big reveal of his personal crisis and afterwards I really didn't like him.  I hadn't finished his first personal fetch stuff for me quest then either and afterwards I picked up some of it when he wasn't in the party (which was practically always because he was an arse) and he was sounded so peeved about it.  I just wished I had the option to say

Also I never understood why he wouldn't just man up and take it upon himself to make true his lies and become an actual Warden off his own bat.  Too much like hard work? Didn't like the uniform?  I surely wasn't going to choose that option for him because I thought he should have had the decency to offer.

I totally agree. I admit to judging by appearances at first since he's such a huge, burly, life-lovin' warrior type - but he's actually very down to earth and compassionate and I really love that about him. He has that wisdom and sensitivity that I find really alluring. Bull's a fantastic character :*

I mean as far as amount of content, quality of content, its ability to shed light on the character, and the result the quest has on character growth are concerned. Next might be Merrill. Both quests contain multiple cut scenes and span long periods of time. 

 

There just is no comparison to the sad little one act five minute adventures we are given in DAI. It's probably why I don't feel close at all to any of the companions.

Yep I do that with all the romances that allow you kiss them at any time.

Regardless of how boring or enraging Blackwall was/is, I have to say that the companions this time around were pretty good. At least imo.

 

What is so bad about Bull's kink? Other than the fact that some people may not be into it? Is it really that detailed?!

It could just mean such a thing exists in your relationship because he is so much bigger than you, and he wants to make sure you are always comfortable during intimacy. 

 

I honestly have determined that there does not have to be any kinky stuff in Bull's romance if you don't want there to be.

I'd planned to romance him with a dwarf that I specifically made a criminal-with-strict-limits, and one of those was that innocents, particularly children, never got hurt. She was perfectly willing to do things like help smuggle lyrium and act as a guard for shipments, but not murder, etc. I was expecting he'd have something in his background, most Wardens apparently do, but he turned out to be exactly what she'd never be able to accept. I decided to ship her with Sera instead.

It is a short quest, but it really turns the light on for Dorian's character. It made me understand who he was and who is by the time we meet him.

 

True, I did enjoy his personal quest...but Merrill's kind of beats his...at least imo. Not by much though. I did really appreciate how we saw growth in each character and saw how important these quests truly were to them.
