Oh believe me, I am well aware of the potential heartache. That is precisely why I will not be playing such a playthrough. ;-; LOL

Hehe. BDSM isn't always about pain. You can have a happy kinky fun, just being submissive or dominant.
So just imagine it without pain.
As I said earlier, my personal concern is with introducing this sort of controlling situation. Some people can have fun with it, but other people are very uncomfortable (and certainly don't find it romantic), especially since it's so open to abuse. Everyone has different levels of comfort - I have no problem with my daughter romancing IB, kink and all.
I'm looking forward to seeing the other version of the romance, though, if it does jettison a lot of that. ![]()

Yeah, that's my problem
I don't mind the bondage and rough sex thing - my issue is with the submissive dynamic. That seems a lot harder to unsee.
Allistair meets his kid apparently.
From the game files
Ohhhh that's awesome. I had heard rumors that she was really rude about it, but now I'm looking forward to that scene.

It's easier for me because I have no real attachment to the other. Nasty surprise for people who do, though.
Someone said that the Morrigan/Alistair scene only happens if you do "Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts" before "Here Lies the Abyss" But I don´t know, gotta try it out ![]()

It was, lol. The game was asking me which of your babies do you like better???
It was agonizing...

Maybe... If you look up Gaider's last forum post, he seems surprised people aren't getting that scene.
I never got that scene. Was definitely expecting one like it, but I assumed it must be bugged? ![]()
Oh yeah, I totally agree. I think the issue is that Cullen clearly stated he had not been looking for a relationship during his stay at Kirkwall due to his trauma. At this point in his timeline the only real opportunity he might have done it was during the time before he was assigned to Kinloch Hold, from what I can see. We don't know what occurred in DAII between his interactions with Hawke, to be sure, but we know that if anything did happen, it was not in the context of a loving relationship, and it's hard to imagine him using his body or another woman's body for the sole purpose of release judging by how careful and gentle he's been. He was harsh towards mages in DAII but like he said, even Meredith knew he'd only go so far. That, plus the fact that he actually says the sex workers at the brothel thought he'd shut them down for serving his recruits...more evidence points towards him being reserved about sex than otherwise, at least in my interpretation.
Cullen didn't say that. He said that he didn't leave anyone behind, which only means that he wasn't in a relationship when he met Cassandra. Cullen also stated that he didn't have many friends and wasn't very good company (thank you for pointing those things out, Sephirona) but that only means what he says. It's unlikely that he's going to talk about an ex-girlfriend (if there was one) during his first few conversations with someone he's just met.
All that to say that people can be in loving relationships and not have them work out. I still believe that it is highly unlikely that Cullen is a virgin and that the interpretation of what he says is based mostly on the personal experience of the person playing the game.
Thanks for the great discussion, Seph. ![]()

Probably because people do Here Lies the Abyss first due to convenience. I mean it only takes 8 power whereas for Wicked Hearts, it has a requirement of 30 power. Far more than Here Lies the Abyss. Also not to mention, some people would have a soft spot for the Grey Wardens like I did.

You're amaaaaaazing! And so talented, I'm envious and happy all at once!
Yeah, I can totally see how you could interpret it that way as well. For me, personally, it seemed strange that Cullen wouldn't mention a prior romantic relationship at all in-game after you start a relationship with him, either. He was clearly in a bad place mentally during his stay at Kirkwall, and finally admits it to you and tells you he'd never told anyone before then. He also looks to be the honest type, and he freely tells you about his infatuation with the Hero of Ferelden and then says specifically that his romantic feelings about the Warden were feelings "he had forsaken until recently", which suggests he hasn't had those feelings until you showed up because he doesn't say this unless you romance him. If he really had been in a relationship I don't see why he wouldn't have mentioned it along the way while speaking about the hardships he went through at Kirkwall. You can totally headcanon that he mentions it offscreen if you want, of course. I just personally feel like his dialogue still points towards nothing romantic having happened after he left Ferelden.
But yes, thank you very much for the discussion
I'm glad we can agree that the other's opinion is valid. ![]()

I head canon he is but only because I think he had given all of himself to being a templar, he just didn't have time for anything else and I don't think of him having a mad moment of sneaking out of the circle for a bit of a rumble in the brothel. I think it has to mean something to him.
In my head canon I can see him (between Ferelden and Kirkwall) being the angry young man whose lost himself. A kind of self-destruct that is somewhat mitigated by being at Kirkwall and with Meredith. I think for some time nothing about himself meant anything to him. I think that for him, he doesn't truly find the original Cullen until there is someone that feels something warm for him alone. Virgin or not - don't care. You love the man, not his sex activity status (for want of a better way of putting it). Same was with Alistair in Origins.
