OT but has anyone tried to create a character after patching?  I can no longer get scars and was wondering if this is a patch problem or I have messed something up in my graphics menu?  Also I have some freakishly aged complexions added.

^ Patch fixed some of the bad PC controls, but broke hair meshes. Getting shiny lego hair on Ultra settings now. :\ Wouldn't be surprised if it broke scars and complexions too.

I actually don't know what I am going to write. I had the war table one that I started writing after our glorious day on the thread, Elu, but I don't know if I want to continue with it. But it will be smut-tastic, I can promise you all that!   I forgot who you had him paired with for that one?

Gah, I wish I had more time this week to finally finish up my sex and chocolate story. I'm having the devil of a time writing "in game" since I usually avoid it and instead extrapolate afterwards. :/ Do I rewrite the first kiss or not...? questionsquestionsquestions

 

I can write in-game but it is usually like a "the game couldn't show everything so here is what you missed" kind of thing. Is there anything in the game that you think you can improve on or wanted to see go differently romance wise?

People in this thread have been reporting this issue after installing the new patch. I am now suffering from super shiny hair even with mesh settings on ultra. And worse performance overall, actually.

Thanks I'll go check it out. Wasn't sure if it was the patch or not, and I have noticed the shiny hair too

daaamn, i loved my matte hair on ultra texture settings!!! now shiny hair gonna drive me nuts >.<

Just and update: I am now hiding from hot men at my house because I have just realized that I have my top on inside-out and backwards (they came early, I was in a hurry to get covered up) and I now hang my head in embarrassment, lol.

Wow, just went into combat and my FPS went from 60 to 3. Ended up having to close the game via Task Manager, as trying to exit through the menu was basically impossible since my FPS never recovered.

Yep, scars are gone

 

Hair looks like DA:2 hair. With my quizzie's black hair isn't so bad...it shines so much almost looks like punky skunky stripes!

I'm at work so I only had time to watch one cutscene. FPS seemed ok. I'm now worried about actual gameplay!

It fixed the hairs meshes on lower-end computers, but in doing that it somehow broke the meshes on higher-end computers. So, fixed it for potatoes, broke it for everyone else.

Hey guys! So I am going full out templar support in this play-through. I think the only one that might be happy about that is Cullen, lol. Any who, anyone that knows the answer to this or has the game guide could you please help me out.

What happens if you choose the option after gaining the templars for them not to take lyrium? Also, Ser Barris. I heard he could die? How do I avoid this?

Im not entirely sure what you mean by not giving the Templars lyrium. There's a conversation option where you can suggest it (to teach them a lesson) but it doesn't end up actually happening afaik. I did disband them though so not sure what happens if you ally them. Ser Barris can die if you stay away from the main hall too long where he's fighting.

Now I have some questions too about the mage side:

A few pages back people kept talking about how Cullen's questline involving Samson was making him angsty. But when I did it there wasn't really much. Or do you only get that if you romance him?

Don't know about that, I'm noticing markedly better performance in big, population and vegetation-dense areas like the Hinterlands. I can gallop through the Hinterlands at max speed with no FPS drop or stutter. Some PC control fixes were heaven-sent too, it's refreshing on my wrists how much less clicking I'm having to do now.

 

So yah, it broke some cosmetic stuff, but gameplay-wise, it improved a ton of important issues.

They aren't too bad if your are into the rugged-manly thing. Nicely tanned. stubble, resting large chainsaws on their shoulder and hauling rings of wood around, lol. And one of them has these pants on that make his butt look really good. F'ing noisy though! My elderly neighbour isn't going to speak to me for a week.

Dear modders, DO NOT download the patch because at the moment it seems the game is forced into low rez quality graphics (even set on high) and some meshs seems to be messed up like the scars not appearing anymore or freekles on dwarf Hardding.

 

Sorry, I didn't want to sound bad or anything I just don't want your works to be messed up or wasted or... anything... I just want your mods be safe ;_;

I just quickly loaded a save in the Hinterlands and haven't really noticed a performance drop. I've always been one for uber eye candy over super high fps so I was only getting between 30 - 50 fps there before. It seems about the same now, even in combat.
