Cole had just won a permanent place on my Mage!Quizzy playthrough... Excited to bring him on explorations to get the bater. Before, I got my DW rogue specced just like his so I can't really bring him on.

 

Now both him & Varric will be on all the time.

 

 

Somehow, I imagine that Cullen's getting not too comfortable around Cole. Cole reads Cullen's mind & deepest fears & everything he wished to keep just for him, and say that loud.

 

Oh, yeah. I think Cullen has had his fill of things traipsing through his thoughts. I think it is more that he has accepted Cole's presence there rather than accepting Cole but Cullen is nice guy, he isn't going to be a bastard to Cole. I think he would just rather keep his distance which is why he will probably get extremely frustrated with my girl when she tries to force a relationship between the two but there needs to be one in head-cannon! Cole's thoughts on Cullen are just too adorable to be ignored.

Ok, I successfully reinstalled from my disks, but the update is apparently required in order to play, so... I don't know what to do.

 

EDIT: Switching Origin to offline mode let me start the game. Existing saves won't work without the day one patch, though. Figured that would happen.

Yeah, I agree. When you make Cole more human he says something like

I know we only know of maybe one or two instances on screen where Cullen seems to be annoyed at what Cole says (like when you first meet him at Haven if you sided with the mages) but offscreen I imagine Cole has sensed a lot of Cullen's inner anguish and has tried to help. It probably turned out  a bit like how Dorian reacts to Cole's "helping". ;-;

 

But at the same time I imagine Cullen doesn't blame Cole for trying even if it makes him really uncomfortable. I'm actually pretty happy that Cullen doesn't really say anything negative about Cole otherwise. Like how Vivienne flat out calls him a demon and disapproves if you let him join, lol. Despite Cullen's fear of bad magic and demons he seems okay with Cole's presence. I hope we get to see more positive interaction between good elements of the Fade and people in the physical world in the future. I think it was a fascinating revelation that

spirits are just as easily corrupted as humans are and that demons are the result, as you find out with Solas' personal quest. Really goes to show that both sides have a lot to learn from one another.

I definitely mother Cole, how could I not? And he calls you his friend so early on, it is adorable. Well that is what I got from what he said, anyway, lol. In fic Laurel will be very attached to Cole and she will be the most sneakiest of Inquisitors when she try's to set Cullen up on father/son dates with Cole. Mwahahahaha. 

 

It's hard not to want to mother him. I want to push the hair out of his eyes and make him smile. He's been through so much, but he bears it well and can take care of himself, certainly.

I don't know if this was known already, but from the Inq. edition of the game, Cullen's tarot card has him as The Knight of Swords. For anyone who may have been interested.

Yup, agree. IMO it's more like Cullen getting very apprehensive & uncomfortable more than Vivienne's disapproval of Cole.

I was just thinking, and not sure if this was discussed before...In my mind, animating with dwarves and qunari will be considerably more effort, so that was probably the reasoning about race-gating Cullen. Knowing that Cullen was kind of an add-on romance, too, I get it. But that leaves a storyline that could be explored. Esp. when I'm curious as to what happens to...

I still don't understand why they removed the lion helmet. It was so iconic in those trailers.

I just wish there had been far more dialogs between characters who already knew each other since Origins.

 

I found it pretty odd that both Cullen and Leliana knew the HoF and we never get to hear one line of dialog between them making references to the Hero.

Or when Morrigan arrives at Skyhold. Due to her major presence alongside the HoF's mission, his/her fight against the Archdemon and his/her mysterious survival after the Dark Ritual, Cullen could've asked her dozens of things about it. One thing he would CERTAINLY ask is how an apostate like her even got to be in the Circle Tower in Ferelden with the HoF in the first place (supposing you took the witch there, of course).

Remember when Cullen passes through her on his way to see you in Halamshiral? He could stare a bit longer at the witch, wondering where ha had already seen her. But no, nothing about her jogs his memory. Odd.

Weirdly, I love the 3 add-on romances (IB, Cullen & Solas) the most from the whole bunch... IB had nearly been non-romanceable due to animation issue until they finally succeeded in make it works. Apparently they even re-write & cut of several lines from why he can't romance the quizzy.

Will he mention her if the Warden's dead in my PT? I'm making the most angsty combination possible for my Lady Mage Trevelyan. Leliana had said very sadly that her lover (the Amell Lady Warden) died during the Blight if you asked her at Haven.

Yeap, both Leliana and Cullen mention her. We were just sorta hoping that they'd both talk about her together at one point, haha. But again, when Leliana met Cullen for the first time it was under terrible circumstances (she would have seen him at one of the lowest points in his life) so I imagine you could explain it by saying she avoids talking to him about her out of sympathy.
